Hi Laura,
I just had my ET on the 8/18 so I have to wait until 8/31 for my results. Hopefully it will go by fast for us. I also had 2 embies transferred, on day 3. We can get through this together.

Hi Ladybug!

So glad you responded! Is the time dragging for you so far? We did our transfer yesterday- it was actually a day 2 transfer which is less common. We had 14 eggs retrieved but only 7 of them were mature so they fertilized those. And then only 2 fertilized but they looked really good so they knew we wanted to transfer 2 so they went ahead and put them back on day 2. So now it's all the longer I have to wait till my beta. Did everything go good for you through the ivf process- was this your first time?

Gi- Glad to have you join in! You've been through so much- I really hope this is it for you!! As you can see, I'm chilling on the couch but I have this darn laptop so I keep getting on here... This whole process is so hard and it's so easy to get stressed and worried- and so much is out of our control. But is all worth it in the end. Hope you are surviving your couch rest! And yes indeed- let's thick sticky thoughts for our little embies to snuggle in. Baby dust to you, Laura

Gi- Don't worry about overanalyzing things- it's impossible not to! All the progesterone can definitely make it seem like you must be prego- I already am so bloated that I look it. I did take meds for the FETs so the meds mess you up and make you wonder like you said. If only we could fast forward to our test dates- wouldn't that be nice??!!! Laura

Hey ladies,
GI: So happy you came over here. We are all experiencing the same thing. I am like both of you ladies and stuck to my laptop and so happy to have found this site because everyone is so welcoming and answers all my questions and we are all going through this together.

Laura: Yes this is my 1st time ever doing ivf. Im actually a shared donor so i gave up half of my eggs i produced and the other woman paid for both of our ivf cycles. I had to pay for a few things but nothing major. It was a blessing because financially this is so much for me but in the end we both gave each other the gifts weve always wanted so I believe she to is on her 2ww but they wont tell me anything because of course its confidential but I am thankful for her. I had 19 eggs so I had to give her 10 and I kept 9. Of my 9, 8 were mature and 6 fertilized. My DH has low sperm count so we had to seek IVF. The stims were literally a pain but im so glad thats over and now Im on PIO shots and thats a pain in the butt literally. They dont hurt but for some reason DH must be hitting some soft spots because on some days I can barely walk. But I cant complain to much I cant wait and pray I get my little miracles. So far so good. Time is dragging for me and Im so tempted to take a HPT. Do you ladies think its too early? Sorry for blabbing I have nothing else better to do. :D

Wishing us all BFP's and PMA

Hi Ladybug- That sounds like a wonderful thing being a shared donor- I've never heard of that before. But like you said, it's great for you and the other person who needs the eggs. Did you have any extra embryos to freeze from the 6 that fertilized? Yep, you gotta love those PIO shots- I just keep switching from left to right butt cheek each day so now I am equally sore on both sides- it kind of feels like I ran a marathon or something with my sore butt!! The first cycle I ever did in which I was blessed with a ds who is now 3, I never did a hpt and I was glad that I didn't. Then the day I found out that it was a bfp, I took two hpts just to see the two lines that I had never seen before! So I never regretted that I didn't do one. Then when we did our first FET, I cheated and did a hpt and it was a bfn so then that was a total let down plus I had the beta and it was negative; so I guess in some ways I regretted it but I also thought that it softened the blow with the blood test. So I guess you can overanalyze to the end of the world about those dang hpts- it stinks!! Oh I read something that said that for a 3d transfer, the hcg can for sure be detected on a hpt 11 days after the transfer. Good luck! I for sure will not cheat this time but it will be hard! I would like to join in. I had my transfer on Thursday (Aug 20). They transferred 3 grade 4 embroys (3 day transfer). So here we all are, on bed rest trying to find the other end of the internet. This is my second IVF cycle and I was blessed with a ds the first time around.

How many days did your doctor suggest you be on bed rest? How often do you get up?

For my first cycle, they transferred 2 grade 3 embroys on day 5. I never could get a concrete answer as to why they did a day 3 transfer this time.

I'm really nervous and am wondering how I am gonna make it during this 2ww.

Hi Tryn4#2- Welcome!! I'm not really on bed rest. My clinic didn't say I had to take it easy or be on actual bed rest but I just feel like I should take it easy for the first couple of days so that's what I'm doing. I get up plenty but I have just tried to not over do anything. In fact I'm so sore still from the retrieval and my butt is sore from PIO that I can't stand laying down on the couch too long without a little break. With my first IVF when I had ds, I did that then too. But I do know some clinics do still recommend bed rest. I also had a day 5 transfer my first cycle with ds and this time mine was actually a day 2- both times we transferred two.

So glad we are all in this together!

Hey ladies,

tryn4#2: My RE told me to just take it easy the 1st 2 days and dont walk much like going to the mall or something. But ive been taking it easy but walking around alot, going to the grocery store or out. I feel great now. I hope my embies are snuggled in. I just dont lift anything to heavy. Like laura I cant lay down much because both of my butt cheeks are so sore. We can do this together :D

Laura: out of my 6 we implanted 2 and froze the remaining 4 on day 3 which were all 8cell grade 2. Heres the big debate my DH and I had with out RE. Im sure the other 2 ladies heard my story from the july.aug board but heres the thing. Thank God for youtube. The morning before my retrieval we saw a video of this lady poor thing had her egg retrieval and the drs said she had great quality eggs and they wanted them to go to day 5 so they can reach the blastocyst stage. Unfortunatley she lost all of her eggs because they never made it that far. So she warned people to freeze your eggs if they are great and dont go to blastocysts because its too risky. My RE wanted me to do a day 5 transfer also for the simple fact she wanted the embryo to reach blastocyst and she would only implant 1(they dont want twins) after they already told me to come in for a day 3 transfer and that my eggs were great 8 cell stage 2 and they couldnt ask for better. So I said no Im staying and getting 2 implanted like I signed for. Then I heard her tell another couple that had the same quality egg like mine that its only a 20% chance of the eggs reaching blastocyst. So why would I risk losing my great eggs all 4 by trying to make them grow to day 5 when they can die. So I made them freeze my remainig 4 eggs. I said if you can implant an 8cell in me now y cant you freeze them and then later in the future thaw them and place the same 8 cell back in me. whew had to vent. This is not cheap and to risky. That is such a blessing you go your DS on your 1st try. I pray for the same.

Patience dust to us on our 2ww and sticky dust to us

Good afternoon or whatever time it is by you all! Hangin' in there gals??

Ladybug- Good for you and dh for pressing your RE to freeze at d3- I never thought about that but that makes so much sense. Like you said, they might not make it to d5 but if they're good now, why not freeze them? And for sure, this is not a cheap thing so if you have to do more cycles or if you decide to try for #2 some day, then you can do two more FETs instead of having to do a fresh expensive cycle. I hope we will all be blessed with #1 or #2- I do feel so blessed already and I really hope that for all of you.

I said a prayer for you all today at church and for those little embies we all want to stick around with us for the next 9 months.

I'll ditto Ladybug on the patience dust to all, Laura

Hey Laura,
I pray all works out and I want to come back for a 2nd maybe 3rd cycle. The RE already told us its not likely we will have kids naturally so this is my only hope. Thank you so much for saying prayers for all of us. It means alot because this is such a difficult and mentally, physically and emotionally draining process. I pray for all of you also. I pray we all get BFP. I have a dr appt tomorrow morning to check my progesterone levels. Will keep you ladies posted. Keep the PMA

Hey ladies,

How are ye bearing up?? Dont know whats wrong with me but for some reason i am in tears (must be me hormones!!!) i was fine till about 1 hr ago and now i am already convincing myself it hasnt worked and its only day3!!!!! I should really give my self a kick up the a$$ and go find my PMA which seems to have deserted me!!! Would ye believe it j just asked me do i want a glass of wine to relax and i was like what??? I said way too early for that though will admit on my bfp last cylce i was soo convinced it hadnt worked i had a glass around 8 days after transfer to cheer myself up!!!

tryin4#2 i am just on couch rest, lazing around but am getting up often, i was told to take it easy for 5 days, no cleaning, excercise though a stroll is ok, no lifting.

ladybug09 - my cycle buddy!! if i remember correctly you are around 5 days past transfer so way to early to test i think C_T Michele said recently that the soonest you can pick up a hcg after 3dt is 8dp3dt and even then you may get a neg. I will def. test early as i am too impatient, i want to prepare myself for a negative though we dont do betas or blood tests here, but i also would love to see a faint line early so i can relax. Oh girls i really pray that this is it for us i have to admit after 6 attempts in 2 years i am getting tired but i wont be defeated .....hmmm is PMA coming back  it just went awol for a moment.

chat soon
