For those that remember me...

Post by lynniecat »

Just wanted to let you all know that I had my wonderful baby girl! We went though 4 rounds of IVF and that include the loss to twins on round 1, bfns on rounds 2, and 3 and then Kate was born from round 4!

I only ever made 3 - 5 embies and Kate was a day 3 embie from a group of 3 ( 2 grade 1s and 1 grade ) that were transferred (even had one stick so we had to repeat the transfer).

She currently sits here on my lap and I can tell you all that the frustration and repeated BFNs and miscarriages all were worth the heart ache to get her! I know how we all suffer through this and hope ALL of us will finally achieve this miracle that I have gotten delivered to me.

She even showed up with an abnormal CVS (which we are not pretty sure was confined placental mosaicism). In other works, some cells in the placenta had an extra chromosome. Also the cord insert incorrectly into the placenta. This was called Velamentous cord insertion.. It supposed to be ok if the fragile part of the cord (where it inserts into the side instead of the middle) is by the top of the uterus vs the cervix and in my case it was...but almost was not ok. Kate came out of me and ripped the cord from the placenta...but just as she as being born. If it had happened at home...well...let just say she would not have been here today.

So despite all these things, I have a healthy baby girl! So keep the faith and keep injecting! I may be back here for baby 2 although at 43 I am not holding up much hope.. but then again... you never know!

Good luck to all!

Lynn

Lynniecat, we were the pioneers of the November Stimming Buddies, mine did not work remember and I was glad that yours worked. When I read your post, I had Goose Pimples all over me. Congratulations My Dear and give your Beautiful Bouncy Daughter a Big Hug From all the Ladies and Gentlemen on this Board. May she be a blessing to you and your family, as she offers those of us still hoping to attain BFP hope.

Congrats Lynnie :) :) :)

Mally and Hil,

I am glad you guys are still here, well still sharing that is as I am hoping you will soon have you miracle babies too. I really want all of us to experience the joy I have and you know the stress never ends, but I will tell you this. I already am thinking about number 2 and I think...I want a sibling for Kate so badly, but I have one and one is an experience in itself, so it ok if I only have one....its very satisfying!

I really really hope you guys get a good cycle going soon!!! I will be watching. Chemicals stink, but its better (IMO) than an all out BFN which I have experienced too many times (on my own and 2 x with IVF)!

Good luck all!

CONRGATS LYNNIE!!!!! So excited for you and your story has been giving me so much hope this last week. I had cycled with you back on Oct/Nov also and got a BFP (chemical) and I am holding out for that BFP again. This time I had 7 fertilized embies and we transferred 4 on Day 3 which was last Fri 8-21-09 (2 were 8 cell grade 1! 1 was 6 cell grade 1 & was was 5 cell grade 1.5) so all in all they are beautiful little embies but I am just worried because that is all there was left so we put them all in on Day 3. And your story seemed kind of similar with your last transfer so you have been my saving grace. I wish you nothing but the best with your new beauty & please keep your fingers crossed for the rest of us still chugging along...

CONGRATS AGAIN!!!!

As for me,well,DH lost his job and its been hard after my blighted ovum but getting some $ in the end of Sept` and so thinking of another round of embryo donor but this time at a different location, either Czech or another State,I`m still investigating!

Wow,enjoy your little bundle of joy! She`s a true miracle!

Hi there,

I just read your post. I wanted to congratulate you!! Good for you. You didn't give up, even though there were many bleak moments. I had a son 4.5 years ago after our second try at artificial insemination.
We tried about 6 months later to conceive again but due to a death in our family and other stuff, we didn't actively start until about 2 years after his birth.
I think we thought that it would just eventually happen seeing as how I'd heard that after you have a baby, you are more fertile. Well, this is definitely not the case here. After several attempts, our doctor told us that we were good candidates for IVF. I was actually depressed that it had come to this. Now, it gets worse. After all the drugs, injections and all, I haven't even QUALIFIED to try a cycle yet. I am 41. My ovarian reserve is very low and after the FSH test, I was told that it wasn't even worth me trying. I feel sick over this. I don't want to give up but I feel like the doctors aren't encouraging me in any way. I need some advice.
