Ghost, I'm thinking this could be a question for you as I got no responses on the last post. (It's maybe an unusual situation?)
Today I am 7 weeks exactly--our third IVF attempt--and we had the ultrasound. The doctor told me I am pregnant with identical twins. One looks really small. The other has the beginnings of a fetal pole. But no heartbeat on either.
They want to check again for a heartbeat in five days. He said my chances of either surviving are 50/50. I'm beyond sad. I'm in shock, I think.
Is there any chance this could work out? The doctor said they could be developing more slowly--that this happens when they share the same placenta? Is that common?
Thanks so much for any insights you can give.
