kiwi- you sound exactly like i did a week ago! in fact if you look back in this thread i posted the same exact thing when i got my big ol boxes of meds at my door! i also never gave myself an injection before and the night before my first one i had horrible nightmares and couldnt sleep. thankfully it wasnt nearly as bad as i thought it would be. its now been a week since i started my lupron shots and everyone on these boards told me it would get easier, and they were right (smart ladies on here i tell ya...listen to them they are all awesome!!) soon you will be a pro!!

afm- i just started spotting so i'm hoping AF is on her way so i can get on to the next step already!! its crazy to hope for AF after over 2 years of praying she wouldnt come every month!!!

i hope everyone is doing good! have a great weekend :D

Hi everyone -

Sorry that I've been out of the loop these last few days. I had a meltdown the other day over misunderstanding something DH said / meant. We are an hr. north of nyc in the mountains, so nature abounds here. There are a lot of really pretty spots here, since its a good commuter location, in town its also super busy with cars & people. In town theres a gorgeous lake with a walking path around it, pretty much the best place to relax. It is also THE BEST SPOT TO WALK WITH YOUR STROLLER! So when DH suggested I go walk the dogs there all I thought was "how flipping insensitive can you be?" I would love to walk there with a baby in a stroller - if I had one! Poor DH didnt get that the lake is packed with the fertile moms, All day, every day! so after a lot of tears & talking - to include me asking him how would he like to go to walk through Babies -r -Us. I think that he finally understands my reluctance to being around moms & babies right now. I dont like window shopping! he he :D

johannanita - What a better cycle this has been for you! 5 is great! wishing you good luck tomorrow - grow follies grow!

shelby - How lucky to be able to stay in the field, and not deal with shift work anymore! Yes, a bfp will be your greatest anniversary present ever!

dtao - Hope that your 2nd interview goes as great as the 1st! GL!

wolffie - he is such a cutie!!

ruthie - Welcome! this is #4 for me too. And the last one (hope it works for both of us last- timers!)

lady j - sending you prayers for a healthy thaw!

michele - sorry about your headaches. There isnt too much to do but just hope they lessen. You werent kidding, crazy FB message! is there a next step for this possible half- sib? In the end it was so lucky that you didnt cycle in aug!! I wish that you dont have any added stresses for sept's cycle!! Miss Ella needs a playmate!

Hugs & PMA for us all!! xoxo

Lot's of personals to do, I hope I don't forget anyone. Please forgive me if I do.

Johannanita - I pray you have some great follie growth. Grow follies GROW! Like you said, it only takes one!

Shelby - Has AF been nicer to you lately? What an absolutely wonderful anniversary gift a BFP will be! Start planning for it b/c I know this will be your time!

dtao - have you heard anything back from your interview? How are you feeling?

deftonesmoe - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. good luck at your transfer!

Fitz - WOW, 23 eggies. that's great!

Lisa - My last scheduled FET was canceled due to high estrogen levels. I basically hadn't suppressed enough and had ovulated even though I was on BCP and Lupron. Good luck with everything!

Lady J - Awww, Thanks! Yes, he is the one in the beige hat. How are things going with you?

Ruthie - I am sorry about your past cycles. I am praying for you. I can't imagine how hard this process must be for you. I'll keep you and your dh in my thoughts.

Kiwi- The big box of meds (or as someone else called it "baby in a box") can be overwhelming. The first injection will be the hardest but I PROMISE it will get easier. Most of the injections really aren't too bad.

Michele - too funny about the excel sheet! During my first cycle I had a giant desk size calendar taped to the kitchen wall. I feel like I'm gonna forget something this cycle too. You must be SO thrilled to be getting so close to having a transfer date! I am thrilled for you!

Turtle - I hope that this is the last AF you'll have for the next 9 or so months!!!

Katie - So sorry about the argument you and dh had. I think that this experience is much different for men. Not that it's any easier for them but different. I think we as women beat ourselves up more and blame ourselves for our body not being able to give us a baby naturally. Maybe you and dh needed to get it all out in the open. This can be such a difficult topic to discuss. I hope things are better for you now. I was in the same place as you about 2 years ago before my first IVF cycle. I was so resentful and angry at other women who were moms or who were preggo. I hope that you won't have those feelings for much longer. One day you will be walking your baby in a stroller in that beautiful place. I'll be thinking of you!

AFM, I am looking forward to my acupuncture appt. tomorrow. Only a few more weeks til my transfer! i am trying to be so hopeful but I am getting more nervous and anxious everyday that this FET won't work. I thought this round would be easier since I have been blessed with my ds in my first cycle. before I started I kept telling myself that it would be easier to accept a BFN since I have my little guy and I feel so blessed to have him. But now I am beginning to feel the same anxiety that I felt the first time around. Maybe even more. I was so confident during my first cycle and was lucky to have gotten my BFP right away. Thanks for listening ladies!

Hello all!!!

Can I just say HOLY COW to this thread and how it has taken off. I'm just going to apologize now for getting behind on the personals and starting fresh here. Boy, you don't check the computer for a minute, then we're up to page 28. Mercy!!! Welcome to the newbies, and I'm trying to get caught up on everyone's stories. :D

Whoever had the walking the dog story and finding the pacifier (I think it was mjay) - LOVED IT!!! I voted for wolfies son (very cute), and katie - I totally understand getting mad at DH. I use to tell him how hard it is to go for your yearly exam at the OBGYN with all of the pregnant women sitting in the waiting room and cute little baby faces plastered all over the exam rooms. I would cry every year leaving the office. I don't think he ever truly understood, but I remember having the exact same outburst. Just remember that you too will be strolling your precious baby around that walking path soon....very soon!! :D

AFM - I'm trying to be patient (and not doing a very good job of it) just waiting to start my lupron on 9/8, but I'm getting really anxious seeing everyone else already to their ER. My ER won't be until the last week of September. And I can't believe the # of eggs everyone is getting - definite overachievers!!! You go girls!!! I'm going to my sister's next week for a visit, so I'm sure that will take my mind of things for a week. Then I start my shots the following.

PMA for everyone (including myself) and grow follies grow!!!!! Prayers are said each day for everyone.
Me and DH - 37
TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube
IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy
HE already knows the outcome.

Im brand spanking new to all this, but I am so happy to find this site. I actually had to google search "infertility acronyms" to follow all the stories. lol!

This is my first IVF cycle. I was suppose to start birth control today, but I actually forgot to pick it up...so I guess I will start tomorrow morning. This is so overwhelming and hard to keep up with everything.

Im hoping to do ET on october 8 in Serbia. I am super excited...but it is difficult to get all my ducks in a row since the orders are coming from Serbia with some monitoring here. Plus my DH is out of the country, so I am doing my best to translate/communicate with the dr's in Serbia.

Luckily he will be home next week, so when it is time for injections he can help. We are ordering all our meds from Serbia too...so I may have some questions for ya'll when the time comes.

You all are some amazing ladies!! Good luck to everyone!

Hello all-

I am starting cycle #2 after a canceled 1st attempt. I have FSH levels around 20, DH has low count/low motility and I didn't respond to stim meds last cycle.

I couldn't read all 27 pages to get the personals but will follow closely now that I am starting back in. I'm glad to be in good company and will wish everyone best of luck!!!

Tonight I had to take a PIO shot to "restart" my body and get AF. Then hopefully by Friday I can start bcps. My doctor is doing away with Lupron since my body didn't respond to stims last time. He is changing meds and upping the doses so I pray for different results this time but I know it is a long shot.

deftonesmoe - How was your transfer yesterday. How many did you end up transferring?

I'm patiently (ok, not so patiently) waiting for the lab to call and let me know how my little babies are doing. It's all I can do not to call them right now!

Morning Fitzjr11 - I can imagine that with 23 retrieved, you are sore! Bless your heart. The only thing I can suggest (as my RE did) is a HIGH salt diet. This will hopefully prevent/ease the initial weight gain and bloatedness. I opted for Ramin noodles, Chinese food and gatorade. It helped - dropped the 5 pds I put on transfer day and I'm back to normal.
I just stopped spotting yesterday.

My embie/baby update - Of the 6 fertilzed, all are doing great! Praise God!

1 - 6 cell
1 - 7 cell
4 - 8 cell

They want to see I think a 4/6 cell or greater on day 3. The embies have no fragmentation or that "m" word she used but cannot remember.

Yippie! If I didn't think I would fall on my face I'd do a cartwheel!

Transfer 7:15 a.m./cst Monday.

fitz - great fertilization report! How many are you planning on transferring?

cheryl - great news on your little embies! I pray that they continue to grow and be strong and I bet they can't wait to be back with their mommy! :D

cheekyone - thanks for the vote! :D Holy cow, transfer tomorrow! are you doing a medicated or unmedicated cycle?

rayofsunshine - welcome! glad to have you! this is a great thread and we are planning BFP's all around! :D

kala - welcome!!! i am so curious, why serbia? I am assuming your dh is Serbian? Why did you decide on going there rather than the US? Just curious.

J&C - thanks for the vote! This whole process is hurry up and wait. I know you're so anxious to get started. Before you know it you'll be in the 2WW and then you'll be waiting 9 months to see your little one! :P

there is so much activity here. this thread has really taken off. nothing new for me, just waiting and waiting for my BFP. trying to decide if i will POAS. DH thinks i should wait, but i'm not so sure. i'm still recovering from the awful bloating from the ER but today, i feel as close to normal as i have felt since i started stimming. last night DH showed up at our door and rang the doorbell. when i opened it, he had roses and said he wanted to take me on a date. he took me to a comedy club and i laughed so hard, i'm freaked that i may have ruined everything.

welcome to the new ladies here. IVF is a hard, frustrating, sometimes long process. so this is a great place to get support and empathy. injections are truly a piece of cake once you get used to them.

our DHs have such a hard time trying to relate to us during this process. there is no way they could possibly understand how hard this is for us. i blew up at mine too and threw a plate at the wall the week before ER. i have never done anything like that, but he just made me sooo mad. i'll blame it on the hormones  .

ladies, good luck and God bless for everything: dtao you will be an excellent assistant principal. eveyrthing is falling into place for you. michelle everything does happen for a reason; it's just so hard for us to accept it in the moment. glad you were able to realize it now. cheekyone and lisa good for you ladies for staying in the game. wolffie and shelby i look up to you ladies. thanks for all the advice and support. wolfie, your odds of a BFP are greater since you already had one, right? fitz and cheryl good luck with ET! once you make through ER the rest is easy. ruthie i admire your strength and perseverance. i pray that you will get your miracle!

PMA, AF, sticky dust, and everything else to you all!

Hello!

Cheryl and Fitzjr- so excited ya'll are getting close!
Cheryl-do you have to wait til Monday to see which embies are best or will they put in all six? I think Serbian Dr will transfer 4...but I am curious what the typical number is here in the US? Good Luck on Monday...Ill say a prayer.

I started my birth control today. I am suppose to take it til 9/19. I will start Lupron injections on 9/12. Quick question: do dr's usually overlap birth control and lupron? Why?

Im so excited...I am finally at this point after all these years!
