tabatha,

When was your last OB visit? Did you bring this up with your OB? If not please do ask them. As long as your weight is increasing, there is nothing to worry about. Some people don't show until 7 or 8 months. Its different for each person. So don't worry much.

Tara.

Tabatha - I know of women who only gain 10 or 15 lb along the pregnancy. Also know of women who didn't know are pregnant. So, I guess every pregnancy is different. It's beautiful to have a big belly but at the same time is frustrating to look fat. Try to relax and like my Ob/Gyn told me, eat healthy and drinks lots of water.

Don't go away, we will miss you.

I have an off the wall question for anyone who wants to answer.
So here it goes.....I had two viable embryos transfered and only one survived. But how many did each of you transfer; especially if you ended up with twins??? Two???
It sounds really stupid, but now that my baby is getting so big and I know her gender and I'm buying all the nursery stuff, I can't help but wonder what the other embryo's gender was...I kind of feel bad that one of them didn't make it and I keep wondering what it would have been, boy or girl. I had really hoped both would make it and I'd have twins (two for the price of one!)
Do I sound crazy or has anyone else felt this way about the embryo that didn't make it?

kutekellie,

I have felt the same way as you. 3 embryos were transferred for me (2 8 cell and 1 7 cell), but only one made it. I had really hoped for twins or triplets and felt sad that the other two didn't survive :-)

Hello:

kutekellie99 - As Tara I had 3 transferred and only 1 made it. I felt like I lost 2 little angels. I think of them very often and think about the "what if's". Yesterday my DH was talking about how beautiful it could be to have 2 or 3 babies but at the same time we both think it has to be veryy difficult and God knows how much we can manage.

kutekellie,

I transferred 3 embryos and 2 stuck. I know how you feel about the others not making it. It does make me sad. This was our 4th attempt with a total of 16 embryos. The last transfer I had assisted hatching done which I had never had done on fresh embryos, so I'm wondering if that helped 2 out of the 3 stick. I also wonder the gender too.

Kellie, we transferred 2 and they both happen to stick. Luck I guess.

I had my fibronectin test today and surprisingly the results were negative! Woohoo! That means I don't have to go into the hospital or go on strict bed rest any time soon. My cervix is still really thin and being held together by the stitch but apparently I'm not at risk of going into PTL. :D

YAY CYNTHIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is great news!!! I don't think they're going to give me that test, but my infection is back :( Now I'm taking oral antibiotics 3 times a day for a week. I just hope it works. Then, my next OB appt was rescheduled to a week later, so then they'll do the blood sugar stuff.

I think they'll only give you fFn test if you show signs of preterm labor. I was told I'd take the glucose test yesterday but when I got there they told me it was too early. So I probably won't take it for another 2 weeks or so.

Oh, they also did some test to see if I had any infections. Haven't been told the results of that yet.

Well, my ultrasound didn't go very well today. Baby A (Girl) was right on schedule and weighs 1 lb 13 oz. Baby B (boy) weighs 1 lb 5 oz and they saw a 2 vessel cord instead of a 3 vessel. They were concerned that Baby B was behind in weight and not getting enough nutrients. The u/s tech was having a really hard time seeing what she wanted with him because he was moving so much. It looked like his was kicking the crap out of his sister. lol I see a periontologist (sp?) in a couple weeks, so I'm hoping they just didn't get a good look at the cord today. The doctor said the worst case would is I'd deliver the babies early...maybe when I'm 32-34 weeks. I posted another thread on this to see if anyone else has experienced this. I hope everyone else is doing good.

aims327 - I'm sure everything will be fine! I know that must have been scarey to hear that, but I'm sure your baby boy will be fine. If he was moving around a lot, that's good sign! Plus, he's already fighting with his sister, another good sign!
Keep everyone informed and we'll be thinking about you and your babies!

Aims: which peri are you seeing in Ft. Wayne? I was wondering if it's the one at Women's Health Advantage.... Let us know when your appointment is scheduled, you, as well as everyone, are in my thoughts and prayers. I, like kellie, am hopeful and optimistic, because if a baby wasn't getting what it needed, I cannot imagine how it would possibly have the energy to be kicking his sister like you said :) That is so funny!

AFM: Round 3, yes, THREE, of antibiotics.......... I'm so scared I'll still have this stupid infection and have to deliver vaginally and then the baby will be born sick :(
