early contractions

Hi, everyone. I have been having quite a few early contractions. My doctor did run some labwork and found I am not in early labor and my cervix is not dilated so that's good news. However, he said if I continue contracting, that sometimes can trigger early labor. I am currently 30 weeks. So he's put me on Nifedipine (generic for Procardia). It makes me nervous taking this medication as I do worry about effects to the baby. Has anyone else been prescribed this type of medication or others to stop early contractions?

Hi Charr....I took Procardia from week 16 on due to contractions. My babies had no complications due to this medication. It is prescribed often to stop contractions. I also had no side effects from it either. Good luck.
