Luckyone 12 is great!!!! Will do a "fertilize embies" dance for you. You just take it easy for now and let dh shower you with tlc, i always felt grogyy and sore after ER but never required and painkillers.

I am not feeling too optimistic at the moment lots & lots of AF cramps some are really intense and i keep thinking she has come!! Enjoy the rest with your little pups what are they and how old??? I just love dogs sooo much we have 2 and they are spoilt rotten though one is on the verge of obesity he detests walking and you have to drag him out.
Cant wait to see how many have fertilized for you fingers crossed xxxxxx

Thanks!

Yes, the wait is not fun. My beta is Aug 3rd. My dh and I are crazy about the HPT. Last time I think I took about 18..no kidding. We numbered them and dated them!! Taking it at the same time everyday. haha We watched as they went from nothing to a faint line of pink until it got darker and darker. ( I ended up loosing it :( ) It was fun though. It will make you crazy, but hey...I think we already are by this point!! I have already started the madness!! :)

When is your beta? When did you transfer and how many? I am sure you posted it, sorry. Our transfer was last Sunday/3 embies.

jogrego i think i am turning into a POAS addict too!!!! Took another this am and beautiful dark line i love comparing them to each other and seeing how dark the line has become. I got fet on 20th Aug. so poas 8 days later. Unfortunately they dont do betas here so i have to rely on the pregnancy test but what scares me is how do i know if its a chemical?? I dont want to be negative but i see you too had a m/c last time as well so you can understand my fears - we dont know anything until scan and our last scan was devastating measuring 1 wk behind and slow heartbeat. Dont get me wrong as we are sooo happy its positive so far but until i see a happy healthy baby on the scan i wont be able to relax but so far we are delighted and taking it one day at a time or in my case 1 loo visit at a time - continious knicker watch!!!! When are you going to start poas - fingers and toes crossed you get a bfp xxx

Luckyone did you get transfer yet???? Please god all goes well xxx

Gi.. Your funny , I've alread Poas!! X2 Haha It was bfn, but I knew that going into it. My first round did not show on a stick until around day 10 and it was very..very light. Then only a little (very little ) darker each day. I had a very hard time with that one. A ton of bleeding and other stuff (tmi) that I had no idea what it was !! I just knew I had lost it. So when the nurse called and said my beta was 50 I could not believe it !! This time I am a little more relaxed but still very nervous. I made myself lay in bed all last week ! Still cramping a little here and there but nothing like last time ... So far  So sorry about your loss. I think it is even harder on an ivf pt because we have worked so hard to get to there. I can't believe you have to wait so long !! That must be very hard. What day was your embie/s ? My Ret was on the 20 th! :D I just noticed I put Aug not Sept as my beta .... I'm loosing it. Very excited for you ! Think possitive !!!

Hi Gi and jogrego,

Welcome jogrego. Glad to see someone else join us in here :)

I am still laying in bed with a ton of pain from PU. I guess that is due to the many adhesions I have from my last surgeries but I can manage. I pampered myself yesterday and got my hair done, etc.

Unfortunately, out of the 12 eggs, only 9 fertilized. 3 had only one nucleus, whatever that means, and 6 are good to go, but because of some water in the remaining 3, we cannot freeze anything. Germany has very tight embryo laws, so they will have to go. On Monday, I will need to call back and see how the 3 chosen embryos did and if there is anything left for the transfer to occur on Tuesday.

Cannot imagine how nervous you guys must be by now. I also took a PT every time so far with the rsult of it being negative every time. Generally I did this about 10 days post transfer, telling myself it was only to not get hit with the results from the BT over the telephone. My husband always tried to discourage me from taking it, so I did it secretly and then told him when it was negative - since I also tended to be quite upset and angry. This time, I will try to not do this, although your faint positives sound very encouraging so far.

jogrego, what did your doctor's office do with the Beta? Was that 14 days post transfer or while you were waiting?

Luckyone please god you have a little fighter in there, i will say a prayer to St. Jude that your embies survive - isnt the days between ec and et the worst! I didnt realise you were in Germany isnt it amazing we can make friends from all over the world thro the internet though ivf buddies are more special as we feel each others pain.

jogrego sounds like you tested too early but its hard to resist isnt it!! When are you going to test again i will also say a prayer for your bfp too. Where are you from??

Right gotta go cook these little babies and watch big brother

Hi Luckyone !

Wow! 11 eggs. That is great!! I am not a great responder to the drugs. I only had 4 the first round and 5 this time. My first round was almost cxl because they thought I only had 2!! My Dr let me make the call... of course I wanted to try, I had come that far to not!! Good thing I did. I have endo and many endometriomas and they were not able to see the extra 2. They drained about 40cc of the endo and there they found them. Even though I m/c, it was good to know that I could actually get PG. My Dr does a beta 14 days form ER . I had mine on the 20th, placed on the 23rd. What about you? Do you beta test?

Gi,

Yes, I know I test too early. It is more of a game, I guess. Or...something for me to look forward to everyday. Crazy... I know. I am from Dallas, TX US. You are right, fun to see all the others around the world that are going through all of this. It seem like so many more people that I meet these days have or are going through IVF. I have a good friend from High school that did it 6 times and got pg the 6th try with her first round of frosties! You just really never know. How is your pink line???

Both times that I have done this I had an extra embie (both times transferring 3). The extra ones never made it to blast. Anyone else??

Thanks for including me!! Nice to talk to someone other than my hubby about all of this!! You both live in two of your fav places!! We have not been to Ireland, but we really want to visit soon. I lived in Germany as a child, my dad was in the Army. I want to return now that I am older and can enjoy it. We are thinking of taking a trip down the Rhine. If this round does not work we will do it early fall. Hopefully not!!

I will be thinking of you both!!

Hi jogrego and Gi,

Woah! Made it through transfer and am now part of the waiting game. This time my hubby refused to go in, for karma's sake. He thought he had the last 4 times and it did not work. Oh well, it was over so quickly, he would not have seen much and they print a pic of the embryos anway. I think he is slightly tired of this process also. Last time around, I guess.

My clinic does a blood test on day 14 also. Mine is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2009. They then call during the day with the results I have been told - never made it that far and always had my period start two days later than normal but a few days before testing was due. My PTs have also always been negative. I used ClearBlue Digital last time, just to ensure it would say yes or no. But maybe a slight pink line is better than a fat NO. Or sorry, here it says "nicht schwanger", which sounds far less romantic.

jogrego, I lived in Denver until about 2 years ago when my company transferred me to Germany for a permanent position. I thought it was a good thing and when we discovered the first 3 IVFs are fully paid, we were excited. Now, of course, we are way beyond that. Good luck on the Beta as it is right around the corner. Hang in there!

Gi, does your doctor not do any bloodtests at all?

Welcome to the waiting game!! How exciting!! Did they end up placing 3? Are you taking it easy the next few days?? That is great that they payed for IVF!! We are on our own. I am sure that was a big help. How are the fees there compared to US?

I used several different HPT and found that First Response seems to be the most sensitive. My husband is an Oral Surgeon and test all his female patients prior to surgery. He brought home a ton of his test (that he was told are "ultra" sensitive) and they never showed anything. (first Ivf) I think that First Response picks up as low as 12.5 or something like that. Pretty low. I have poas for the last 3 days...haha All BFN Thanks for the encouragement.

Anyone cramping?? I am... not as bad as last time but they are still there. I really hate this part!! :? Thursday can not come soon enough. Like you Luckyone, we get a call day of beta, then go back every 3 days or so to see if it doubles.

I will be thinking of you and sending you sticky vibes!!

Hi jogrego,

Thanks. Love the waiting game :)

We never did IVF in the US as my original OBGYN seemed to think she had reconstructed my fallopian tube after my ectopic pregnancy that burst. I guess I was not that lucky. Anyway, I guess costs here are about €3000-6000. This depends on the amount of meds needed largely and mine have always been high. hence, I am at the upper range of the bill. It did help to have part of this paid for and I was able to freeze 3 eggs that we have not yet used the first round of IVF. Those tend to be a bit cheaper because lots less meds. It is about $10000 to $15000 in the US, right?

I am now trying to take it easy but I am a busy beaver and laying on the couch or bed all day drives me insane. So, I am at least sitting at the computer, in front of the TV, etc. without lifting or doing too much bending if I can. I heard, though, that this supposedly makes no difference. If you have one that wants to stay it will :)

I am also cramping a bit. I tend to think it is the meds as I always cramp a bit and know this means literally nothing. At least not for me. I have so many adhesions, I cramp very easily.

Chin up and lots of good wishes,

Luckyone welcome to the 2WW!!!!! I just relaxed on the couch but did get up very often as long as you are taking it easy its fine.

jogrego good luck tomorrow for Beta!!! Are you still poas???

As we dont do betas here and depend on hpts till scan i rang my regular non fertility doctor this am and asked them will they do a blood test tomorrow to ck hcg levels as i cant wait 3 wks to see if at least viable, so for a small fee of €50 they will do it but it takes a few days for result but anything is better than waiting. Plus i am a day ahead than i thought i was!!! I calcuclated wrong so i am 13dp3dt which means my 1st faint line was 9dt3dt. Still have few cramps on/off but they're not that sore, bb's are more sens today and i could sleep for Ireland

Morning or Afternoon to you guys :)

Like you Luckyone, I am a busy body and laying around was very hard. I made myself do nothing for 3 days this time. Last round, I had all kinds of crazy stuff happen (terrible cramps, bleeding, etc) and wanted to try and NOT have that begin again, even though I know there was really nothing I could have done about it.

You are right about the cost. We end up paying about $13,000 + each try and I take a big does of the stimulation drugs. That also brings the cost up. I call it the "old bag dose" because I am 36 (turning 37 in a month) and of course they bring that up all the time. haha Apparently, that is old in the baby making business.

So you have 3 frosties! Cool! I had posted earlier that my good friend got pg 6th try from her 1st round of frosties. I have had one embie left over both times and it never make it to blast. :( Sometimes I think it is good because I would always wonder what to do with it if I did get pg. I doubt if it works we would try for another.

Like you, I have adhesions...Boo!! I have had 3 endo surgeries and of course the endo alone causes them too. Hang in there. Sorry to hear that you had an Ep!! I am sure that was no fun. Did that ovary produce any eggs? I pretty much am functioning on one... the left one is non functional and covered in endo cyst. Good ol adhesions!!

Gi...

That is great that you are getting a Blood test! I am sure you are beyond excited!! I am excited for you!! Yes! The big day is tomorrow. Thanks! So we will have it on the same day!! :D I have it all planned out.... I made my appt right around the time they take all the blood work down to the lab, (10am) that way the waiting does not seem soooo long. Even though it will still feel like forever!!

Yes ...still poas!! Still BFN. :( I think I have my days all confused too....do you count the day of transfer or the next day as one?? I had my transfer on the 23rd.

Glad to hear you are cramping too. I have sore bb's, but I know that could be the meds.

I'll keep you posted on what tomorrow brings!!!

Btw, my name is Jodi
