May 2010 Babies

Hello,
I just got my BFP last week and according to the pregnancy calculator, that means i'm due around mid-May. Any other May 2010 babies out there? I know that it's still early days, but since i'm not sharing the news with anyone until after my first tri, I figured it'd be nice to have some support. DH and I just went through our first IVF cycle in mid-August and transferred two 5-day blasts. Our first beta was last Wednesday at 195 and then again on Friday at 484. I go in for my first u/s and more bloodwork this Friday.

Hi JG_379,

I told myself i wasnt going to join the mommie thread till i got my scan but sure why not!!! I am trying not to get too excited as i have just had my hcg level its 739 18dp3dt so its on the low side, i dont have anything to compare it too so not sure if its doubling correctly, i had to insist my regular doc. to a blood test and he said its ok and doesnt need to retest but ghost reckons its bit low. I have my scan on 23rd Sept and terrified already, our last bfp the scan day was worst of my life baby measuring 1 wk behind and slow heartbeat had d&c 2 wks later. I am going to try and relax as i have seen some girls with low numbers going onto have healthy babies.
How are you feeling????

Hi gi-
Welcome to the board. We were on another board together in the IVF area, but I haven't posted on it in awhile. After I got my BFP and I saw the BFN's come in, I felt bad sharing my news because I felt like if it was me with a BFN, I would be sad.

I know what you mean about being cautious. I am cautiously happy about my BFP right now because i've had a couple of miscarriages in the past. In fact, i've never had a successful pregnancy, so I know what you mean. I figured it can't hurt to talk about it though and vent and keep up the PMA and it's so much easier when others are going through it all too, ya know?

I'm feeling okay so far. I've been very tired and I'm starting to feel a little sick to my stomach if I wait too long to eat. My girls are really really sore too. It could all be side effects from the progesterone, but it is comforting to know that the side effects are there. How bout you, how are you feeling?

I'm no doctor, but it seems to me like 739 is a good number. I know you can't find out if it doubles, but if the little one just implanted a day or two late, then that can account for it being a day or two off, ya know? I feel for you though, I wish there was some way you could find out if it's doubling. That would make it so much less stressful! Just over 2 weeks for your scan! Just what you need, another 2ww!!!

Thanks JG_379, I remember ye well its nice for cycle buddies to stick together and share the journey esp. when its such early days. Theres nothing i can do at the mo but relax though Summebaby posted a message and said her levels were like mine and she is due in 5 wks so fingers crossed my little one was a late starter.
I also feel queasy if i leave it too long to eat, still slightly crampy and bb's bit tender, isnt it strange to wish for m/s!!!! Oh jaysus another 2ww and i cant even cheat this time

From what i can make out i am due the 11th May sounds ages away doesnt it???? Right so may just focus on the scan and all the hurldles after that.

gi- how are you feeling today? I hope you haven't been worrying too much. I saw your other thread on the IVF board and just remember what they all said and try to remind yourself of that. I still think that a number in the 700's is pretty good! Hey, would it be possible to call up your doctor and tell him you can't stop worrying about it until he gives you another beta? I mean, it only takes a minute to draw blood, right? I know you probably don't want to be a pain, but if it makes you feel better, then I say do it!

I feel pretty good today. You're right though, I do kinda wish for a little bit of m/s so that I can have some reassurance before my scan. I'm due on May 12, the day after you, so that makes me 5 weeks today!

Hey JG_379,

I dont think i will make another appt as i will prob. analyise those numbers too!!! I have read of other girls with lower than norm hcg so i am trying to stay optimistic as i know that worrying wont help my baby i need to try stay as stress free as poss.....easier said than done.

Its great you are feeling so good though its early days!!! Bring on the m/s

though they do say be careful what you wish for. I am feeling very bloated but thats just the meds plus i havent lost the 5 pounds i put on my last pregnancy, i usually only weigh 112 pounds so i can feel these few extra around the middle though i really cant wait to get a bump ( see i am trying to have lots of PMA!!!).

I was waiting on someone to begin a MAY 2010 thread. Thanks for doing that. Gi and I are due around the same time. From my calculations, I am due May 10. As you can tell from my signature at the bottom, my numbers didn't double so I ended up with 4 beta tests. Finally the last one doubled (and then some). Not sure why it took so long for it to double but I am glad it finally did. Since it jumped some much the last time, they want me to have an ultrasound done next week. I have one scheduled for Monday.

Congrats on our BFP's.... I've got to go to class now so I will post more later.

Tryn- welcome! You, Gi, and I are are due on May 10, May 11, and May 12! How exciting! I am glad to see that your beta has doubled and your baby is doing great!

gi- you should do whatever you're comfortable with. My rule of thumb is if it's keeping me up at night, then it's not doing me or my baby any good. The girls on the board really do have some wonderful stories, so hopefully that's all it takes to give you some peace of mind.

I'm just finishing up my workday and i'm completely exhausted! I need to go home and take a nap!

Hi! I think I've seen you all around in other boards.

I'm going to jump in on this one now as well, because... well, it's tough reading about people's BFN's. We have different concerns. Like this waiting! It is just so unsettling. I've been trying not to start planning for a baby already (though it's hard... I've already picked out a paint color for the nursery). And of course we're not telling people yet. So basically life has been just sort of directionless for a while now. Teaching even seems super boring this year. Maybe I gotta find a new hobby.

So my clinic only does 2 really early betas: 8dp3dt and 10dp3dt, so my numbers were super low compared to everyone else's. There's no way to know what's going on in there. Should I ask for a 3rd beta you think?

dtao- Welcome, yes we were on the another IVF board together. Congrats to you! I agree, it is hard to see the BFN's because I know how much everyone wanted this and I know how I would feel if I were in their shoes, ya know? As for the third beta, my rule of thumb is that if you're losing sleep over it, then call them and request another test. You want to stay as healthy and rested as possible at this time, so if something as small as a third beta would make you rest easy, then go for it!

gi- how are you doing? Anymore symptoms yet? I'm starting to feel queasy in the mornings, but nothing too bad yet. My bb's are huge too! And sore! Other than that, just totally exhausted all the time.

tryn- how are you doing?

AFM- I had my first u/s today! It's twins! It was really hard for me to type all the other stuff first without spilling the beans!

Hi Ladies, I'm switching over to this Board as well since we are all BFP!

JG- wow, I can't believe they already did an u/s. My first isn't until the 23rd and I'm waiting on pins and needles. I go back in for my third beta on Monday, which they have me doing each week through the 28th. That is so exciting with twins! I'm hoping for one healthy baby, but I secretly would love twins as my DH and I agreed if we have one baby, we won't put me through all of this again. It's so taxing on our bodies and the emotional roller coaster is just so hard.

Good luck to all of you. My predicted due date is also May 12th!

Hi Kristy B- Welcome! You're so right about how hard this whole process has been. I know that twins is going to be no walk in the park or anything, but for as much as we've been through, it's definitely a blessing (or blessings). It's like 2 for the price of 1

. I am very happy, but cautiously so, because we still have a big milestone ahead of us, next week we go in to see if we can see/hear the heartbeats. Yes, we're very lucky, we have an RE that does weekly ultrasounds week 5-12. My due date was May 12, but I think twins are typically 37 weeks, so I think that pushes me up to April!

Hey Ladies,

Thanks for starting this tread! I was about to join April. I've had two beta's and my third is due Monday. My first number was 284 and my second was 487. If all is well on Monday, I will have my scan a week from then! I came down with a bit of OHSS and have been very uncomfortable. they said it was mild and caused by the preganancy. I was so bloated I had to go out and buy maternity clothes. Now it's going down a bit and it just looks like I'm wearing really baggy clothes. BB's are very sore, I've been waking up 3-4 times a night to pee and also needing to go to sleep very early. I will be 5 weeks along tomorrow! I had 2 5 day blasts transfered and am hoping for twins but am very scared about twins at the same time. I just cant wait to see a heartbeat and feel safer.

Hi May Moms!

I hope it's okay if I join. We transferred 3, 5 day blasts and my first beta was 313; second beta was 640. Those betas are higher than average so we just may have two little babies tucked in.

My first scan is Friday, the 25th and my due date is May 19.

Is anyone else experiencing symptons? It's all I can do to keep my eyes open I'm so tired (just like previous pregnancy), my "girls" are already getting bigger, and did I say TIRED?! Ha!

I really look forward to going through this with you all!

JG Twins!!! OMG thats great news i am delighted for ye, i doubt we will have twins just praying for one healthy baby i am still trying not to worry about my low numbers but its always niggling at the back of my mind, i have very little symptoms i am nearly praying for a sign that i am pregnant!!!!

Right gonna enjoy one of the very few sunny days in Ire chat later
