sancap14, i was just going to post back to you when I saw you sent me the note. Yes, the NK is a huge debate apparently in the IVF world. Most Doctors don't believe in it, but my Doc started using this practice about 7-8 years ago, well before it was ever talked about. Dr. Beers out of Chicago I believe started doing this research and my Doctor learned from him. There are a couple of articles on my Doctor's website if you want to read a little more, www.goivf.com. His success rates with women who have had repeated miscarriages and then doing these tests have been great. It's part of his practice and if you don't want it, he won't take you on as a patient as he believes so strongly in it. Basically, I had to do two blood tests that actually do cost a fortune ($1300 for the first round). I can't remember exactly, but I did an autoantibody test that came back negative so we never have to test for that again. The NK's the first time came back slighted elevated (1 out of 5) so we did just one intralipid. Unfortunately we weren't successful the first time. We now changed up the protocal this second go and are automatically adding the intralipid ($300 to test and $500 for the actual treatment). Insurance doesn't cover it, but again, the success rates by doing this within his clinic and the people I have talked to have really helped so I too am a believer.

Thanks kristyb...that is a huge help! I am going to print that article and present it to him during my Thursday appt. I am paying for this myself so anything I can do to raise my chances the first time (which will probably be my only chance)...I think spending extra $$ for the test (and treatment if needed) is worth it. Especially since I've already had a m/c...don't want to go through that again. GL to you, sounds like you are well on your way to success :D

Please help....
I got my bloodwork test results back today, and the nurse said my Anti-Müllerian hormone is low: 1.2 ng/ml. Not sure what that means and theres not much out there about it. Has anyone else had a low AMH?

cheryl - GL tomorrow!! I can't wait to hear your fabulous news!

kala - I'm on 10 units of Lupron, then when I start the gonal-f, it decreases to 3 units. So glad you'll be online while in Serbia. I love the internet.

wolffie - Totsicle - that's great!!! We're praying for good thawing and excellent sticky baby dust. The suppositories *sigh*....just so nasty.

johannanita - Sounds like you'll be working late a lot to me or shopping or dinner with a friend or dinner AND a movie. :D

sancap - Welcome to the board!! First, I think it's excellent that you CAN get pregnant on your own. I've never been able to do that. It's really hard going through IVF for the first time, because you don't know what to expect. I would read all the information that RE would give me over and over to make sure that I was doing everything correctly. Before you know it, you'll be on your way, one day at a time, and in the 2ww soon than you think. For traveling, I would choose to travel early on in the shots or after the ER and transfer. Oh - and don't be afraid to call your RE as much as you want. That's what you're paying them for.

turtle - You go girl!! My first Lupron shot is tonight, and on the 18th, I'll be up to 3 shots a day too.

kristy - Congratulations!!!! We'll pray that your little embie(s) are snuggled in well and are harm free.

AFM, even though I hate the needles, I'm so glad to start the Lupron tonight and hopefully, somehow, clear up my acne. It's out of control!!

PMA for everyone!! :D
Me and DH - 37
TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube
IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy
HE already knows the outcome.

J&C - I was hoping the lupron would help clear up my acne from the BCP too. ...sigh.... it didn't :? I am counting on the fact that once I'm preggers :D my body will re-adjust to it's own hormones and everything will go back to normal.

Kala - Sorry, I have never heard of AMH.

mjay - when will you have your first u/s?

ruthie - glad to hear from you! I enjoy acupuncture but not everyone does. I find it very relaxing. I started going during my first cycle. I figured...it can't hurt!

katie - I have two furry kids myself. I know how much worry they can bring sometimes!

kristy - great second beta! YAY!!! :D

kiwi - GROW follies GROW!!!! the end of the month will be here before you know it and then you'll be PUPO!

jayden - YAY, you'll have your baby in a box soon!

My appt. today went very well. I have 10 follies on the right and 6 larger ones on the left. My lining has doubled from 5 to 10. I am to continue the Follistim 225 in the am & pm and Lupron 10 in the pm. I go back again on Thursday. I’m sorry I haven’t checked in until now, but I have felt horrible all day. I just finished my antibiotics and I think I have a yeast infection now. Also, I am having some major sinus issues and can hardly breath. My ears and throat hurt from all the draining!!!! It’s just amazing that you can have a runny nose and can’t breathe @ the same time. Remarkable  ! And to top it all off, I was going to get to enjoy my last day of scuba diving tomorrow for the next 9 months, but with this crap I doubt I will be able to!! ARGGG!!!! On a good note, the Lupron headaches seemed to have eased. Sorry for all my whining.

Sancap14 – Welcome :D ! I’m sorry to hear of your m/c (miscarriage), but glad to know that you guys aren’t giving up. What medicines will you be on?

Cheeky – Keep your chin up, Hun. It’ll all work out!

Cheryl – The suspense is killing me! :? GL tomorrow!

Turtle - I go back Thursday, too! Me and you and everyone on here are going to make a baby!!! PMA!

Johannanita – Good advice to Sancap, sis! I agree. It’s much easier to go ahead and take a break before you get started on the stims. I’m going in about every 2 days now.

Kiwi – Glad you had a good Labor Day!

Kristy – AWESOME :D ! You are doing so good! I have been on pins and needles waiting to hear from you (as I am with everyone on their betas!). Good Luck with the intralipid. I’ve never heard of that…..interesting. :?:

Katie – The garden was great. We canned about 40 jars of tomatoes, 40 jars of green beans, and have so much okra and corn in the freezer I’m having to take it to my mom’s and MIL house to store it! Now it’s just about to be mowed down and tilled again to plant greens….if it ever stops raining long enough.

Ruthie – Good to “see” you. Let us know what your schedule is and what meds you will be on when you get it. You’re gonna get a BFP!!!! PMA PMA!

Mjay – Doesn’t that just pi** you off?! I had that happen a couple of weeks ago and I literally screamed @ the computer!!!! Can you imagine….MULTIPLES!!!! YIPEE!!!

Wolffie – Love the totsicle word  ! I first thought it was a typo, but then looked and thought about it some more and just started laughing my head off!

Jaydentd –I’m happy you finally got your schedule. I know you are!

LadyJ – OMG!! Only 2 more days!!! I’m so excited! :D :D

Michele – let us know how your appt. goes tomorrow.

Shoebox – How are you doing with your stims?

Stats – how did your appt. go?

Lady_J - I'm on 1 cc of POI. I have an appt on Thurs to check it. I'm assuming if it's too low they would increase it. IDK, I've never gotten this far. It's ok to doubt your RE. I found that I did because of things I had read on here. What it mostly boils down to is their preference. You have to trust your RE. I know I'm not in your shoes so easier said that done.
I hope your snowbabies defrost!!

wolffie - That's good to hear about the accupunture. I usually go Saturday mornings so that would mean one more til my beta.

kiwi - Grow follies grow.

kristyb - Congrats on your betas!! I've never heard of this test. Sounds like a good thing if you ask me. Anything to make sure you carry to term.

sancap14 - No, I don't think my Dr. has tested me for natural killer cells. I've never even heard of this. Now I have something else to worry about. :( I will put in a call to my Dr and see what he says.

katie99 - I'm so sorry about your puppy. :( It's really not horrible living so close to my MIL. The secret is that she doesn't drive. lol Which means she doesn't just drop by whenever she feels like it. It's almost like I don't see her if I don't want to. She's really not that bad, but when she gets in these baby mood, good lord! Speaking of which, they just got in at 6 andshe called me at 8 to let me know she was back.

ruthiej74 - I'm praying for you.

AFM, I almost forgot! I called today and they were able to freeze 2 embies. :D :D :D

Ok, I couldn't sleep so I decided to sign on and catch up on some of the other posts. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and we get more BFP's!!! I'm feeling a little better this morning (I can breathe!-that's always a plus) so I am going to TRY and swim with the fish and feed the sharks. Wish me luck!

Hey guys - Sorry I haven't been around much, but I'll try and do better. We had a nice relaxing weekend at home and I didn't get on the computer much. I got a lot of cleaning done around the house, which was good. I had my supression check and trial transfer yesterday. I decreased lupron today and start follistem on Saturday, so next week is all about growing follies! The doctor did my trial transfer this time because at the last transfer she said she didn't think the measurements were done right. Well, it turns out they were off a fair amount - the paper said 6.5 and it was actually 8.5. It makes me kind of mad because I wonder if the others would have made it if they went in the right place the last time. Nothing I can do about it, though. We are hoping a reduction in follistem this time will let my eggs ripen a little longer (I responded really fast last time and triggered two days earlier than they planned) and then with the CORRECT measurments, hopefully the little embies will make it to the right place and STICK this time around!

Congrats to the BFP's! Keep them coming!!!

Hey Ladies-

I hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the weather:) I started Lupron on Saturday night, and so far no effects (fingers crossed it stays that way!!!). I am officially off my BCP today and go in Friday for b/w u/s....When you guys start more than one shot, so you insert the needles on the same side or do one shot on one side and the other shot on the other side?!?!

As I am reading the posts, I don't know what POI is? Can someone explain?

Again-my thoughts are with everyone and I hope the ++++ keep coming!!!!
