hi everyone..

i'm brand new to this site but i'm not new to the heartache of infertility. i am desperately looking for friends to talk to as we have just started our first ivf cycle. we are so excited, but apprehensive as we know it is not a guarantee it will work. anyway. we are unexplained and there should be no reason that we can't conceive.

i have finished bcp and had my first scan and bw yesterday. i had 9 antral follicles (which seems lower than average for my age, 26) but i'm happy with that. my bw was fine (E2 <25 and P4=0.5)and we started stims last night. i'm doing 225 bravelle and 75 menopur. i pray this is it for us because we don't have much more savings to rely on for a while. i am looking forward to reading up on where everyone is with ivf and am praying for all of us.

Akowens - Great to have you with us! Hope stims are going well for you. Pretty soon you will feel swollen and walking will feel like you're running a marathon, but hey, it's worth it!

Where are you from? How many do you plan on transferring? As you can see, we are on roll with the BFP's and you will be a part of that!

If you have any questions at at, just type em up and you'll have some advice before you know it. We are here to encourage and support all of our IVF sisters (I really like that, Johannanita)!Take care!

Lady J - Good luck to you today! I am about 4 hrs away from having my FET and am NERVOUS! Tons of sticky baby dust and PMA as we go into the 2ww. How many are you having transferred? They are thawing two 5 day blasts and transferring both (fingers crossed).

CT_Michele - I have been trying and trying to catch up after not getting on the boards for ~3 weeks and was SO THRILLED and HAPPY to read that your time is almost here! I had a failed FET in June and followed your story (and several others), but never posted. You have been quite an inspiration and source of PMA for so many of us.

Hey everyone,
My DH goes in for his last sperm sample today. The first one they found 100 ok swimmers and froze them. The second time they didnt find anything. So this is the last sample to freeze before we go to Serbia. We will try to get a fresh sample there too.

So please send some super strong swimmer dust to my DH

Hello All,
I am new to this, or any message board.. I read zillions of them a day, but never thought to post until now. Here is a little about me..

DH and I have been married for 2 years. He has a son from a previous marriage, but we have not been able to conceive. He has a very low spem count, which the DR states can posibly be from a metal plate in his arm from a car accident.. He was on Clomid for 90 days and did another SA.. It was sightly higher, but not much.. We tried an IUI 3 times with BFN's each time. We decided that IVF was the only option.. We have had all of the test ran and bloodwork done. We are waiting for our IVF class, which is on 09/16/09 and then the process should begin with my next period, which should be arounf 09/26/09... I am VERY nervous and I have been watching IVF stories on Youtube like crazy!!! I dont know if thats a good thing or not

Any suggestions?

Hiya girlies -

I've been doing a lot of thinking about these 2 past cancelled cycles, I really dont want for it to happen again. I know that we have no control over this, but I feel like I want to have a heads up this time. My clinic doesnt want you to stress your lab values, so I never get them!

I have decided that this time I wont accept their standard response of "let us worry about it" which is what they tell me when I ask for my labs!
I go for my baseline on tues, other than FSH, E2, AMH & antral follie count can you guys think of anything else I should ask them for? Also does your clinics tell you your labs? Do they tell you if you ask? I swear getting these numbers last time was like asking them for national secrets! And after all of that I only got my E2! After the fortune we have spent with them, I feel that its my right to know, after all its my bloodwork. I have a feeling that they'll put me on the b***h list. Oh, well I want to know anyway! I hope that you all have a great day!

j&c -Me too! I never want to talk about it when people ask how the fertility thing is going! They never get it anyway.

Hello Everyone! Well we had our visit today with the Dr. I had my uterus measured and such and it looked beautiful (painful procedure though...geez). I just kept thinking...suck it up, this is nothing compared to what you are going to feel during pregnancy!..right!...good PMA!)

My DH had his first sperm sample taken (he was so nervous...haha) but he got through it thank God...part of me kind of wants him to have a slight problem so it will take some of the guilt I feel away...does anyone else ever feel like that? That would be bad though cuz then it would just hinder the process more...oh these mixed emotions....what to do with them?

I found out my FSH level was 7.5, the Dr. said that was excellent but I want to know what a good and bad level is...does anyone know this info?

I also found out my start date is Sept. 16th and they started me on baby asprin today and I am done with BCPs on the 12th...yay...although I have had a great experience with the BCPs...they cleared up my skin greatly so I will probably miss that.

Last but not least (you are not going to believe this one) the WE channel is doing a "reality show" on IVF and egg/embryo donation and our Dr.'s office is being featured. They asked us to be in the show! We've thought it over and accepted the offer. I don't know yet what we got ourselves into (we have to go in on the 24th of this month to be interviewed or something so I guess we'll know more then) but I'm kind of excited to think that maybe I will be able to help others understand what we are all going through and maybe how to be more sensitive to the situation.

So lots of good stuff happening!!!

Katie99 I would definately want to know all of my lab results...I think you are right in that you are paying for this and the blood is yours so you have a right to know what is going on...that would drive me crazy not knowing!

CJSMOM and akowens Welcome aboard! I am also new here but just in the last few days I've spent with these girls I have already started to feel less anxious and more positive about our future! Please feel free to ask any questions you have...knowledge is power! BTW, the office just told me how much I owe on Wednesday and I almost fainted...not to mention if and when it works, I will have to pay out of pocket for the pregnancy cuz I don't have maternity coverage...ouch! It'll all work out in the end I'm sure:)

Ah Katie thanks missed your messges too on the other thread!! Glad to hear of your knew strong attitude you go girl!!! I am in limbo land at the mo. i got my bfp and insisted my regular gp to beta as we dont do them here and 18dp3dt it was 739 he said it was ok and dont need a 2nd but i knew it was on the low side (ckd with ghost) but i dont hav any other numbers to compare it too so now i am back in 2ww for u/s i am trying to stay positive and hope baby is growing big and strong but after last bfp scan ended in d&c i am nervous, ah well time and lots of prayers will tell.
Fingers crossed you dont get cancelled again, i usually lurk around the boards so i better see a bfp from you very shortly xxxxx
