Good Morning ladies- A few personals while Ella is napping.

Karenthescorpio- welcome. We are all cycling in sept and oct so you have quite a few buddies here. You will love this site. dh and I are also male factor infertility.

alizee-Welcome to you too. There are lots of stories on these boards about success even with lower quality embryos, good luck to you, when is your beta?

teachermom- you are not too far from me, I am in CT, but right on the shore. I can imagine how expensive it is to live in LI, probably comparable or more to CT.

karling- All your side effects seem normal for lupron. As far as doing meds away from home, my RE always told me it was not essential that I do the shot at the same exact time everyday, he said just try to be close. So when I was on lupron for the last 3 months, I would do it any where between 8 and 12 at night and it never made a difference. For stims, I tried to be within the same 2 hours, the only one that was crucial on timing was the trigger, but if you aren't sure, call RE.

johannita- I took pics of my hpt with Ella too, for the baby book. I actually still have a few of the positive hpts, I just can't bring myself to toss them, even though I have the pics. And I am a poas addict myself. It cost me so much money after the first time, for the 2nd, I bought them ahead of time online in bulk. That was still pricey, so this time I bought the medical strips that you dip instead of the enclosed hpt's, it was so much cheaper...so I have 20 strips waiting to go for this fet!

shelby- hang in there, you're almost there!

j&c- lupron headaches suck...I will be so glad to be done with lupron in 4 days! You can take tylenol.

katie99- I am getting excited now, just one week away after all this waiting! I am a little concerned why RE doesn't want to check anything else right before the transfer. It seems like lots of people have appts a couple days before. I had my last appt on sept 9, and they said the next time they see me will be the 22nd on transfer day, does that seem odd?

kala- can't wait to see your ticker!

AFM- not much new, just trucking on with semester classes and counting down to transfer in one week. I am thinking about some spa treatments the day before or the morning of transfer just to try and relax. I thought about accupuncture this time, but I don't care what anyone says, it just doesn't seem relaxing to me...I am not a fan of needles. So I think the massage/spa route is the way for me to go.

I have been immersed in news coverage about the Yale student. Has anyone else been watching or heard about that? It is very very close to me. I go to school in New Haven, not far from Yale (same city, about a 5 minute drive away), and I live right over the New Haven town line, but Yale is a huge school, their campus is spread all over the place, so the story is very close to home. Such a sad story and it has really shaken the community.
Me- 28 DH- 33 Male Factor
1st IVF- 12/07- BFP! Ella Michele was born 8/26/8
2nd IVF- 04/09 - BFN
1st FET- 09/09 - Chemical

Yes, I've been watching about Yale student. SO sad. I can only imagine how that must be for you being so close to the area.

Karenthescorpio & Alizee – Welcome! BFP here we come! :D

Teachermom – Honey, if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s to not give up so easily. There is a plan for all of us and no matter what, it will work out for the best! Hang in there! 8)

Cheryl – Thanks and neither can I!

Stlgirl – Yes I am! But he’s making me wait one more day.

RE said that he is very pleased with progress. My lining is about 15 and I have about 22 follies with several of them 19 -20 mm. He wants me to continue on the stims for one more day and trigger tomorrow. So That puts my ER on 9/18, ET on 9/23, and Beta on 10/2. Sorry so short this morning, but i am exhausted! Think I'm going to take a nap and I will check back this evening.

Good morning Ladies. Just here checking in. Well I am now 5dpfet... PMA PMA PMA. I'm almost there... PMA PMA !!! Anyway... well, yesterday I thought I was about to pass out at lunch. I sat there all of a sudden I got a hotflash, dizzie and then just fell asleep at the table. I wanted to just throw myself on the floor and go to sleep. All day I was feeling tight with my jeans, today I put on some slacks so they are not bothering me, but I actually have been feeling twinges all day. Last night I felt so bloated but today I feel fine... just sore (o)(o) and soar lower belly. I havent POASed again,...lol cuz I know for sure it was too early and still may be. What do u think Thursday, Friday or should I just wait for Saturday to POAS again? Im going to turn in to Johanitta if I see a faint...LoL

CT_Michelle.... You are getting close to your FET hun. I am glad everything is moving along well. As for the far apart appointmernts... That was me. My last time I was in was Sept 2 and didnt go back till FET day on the 10th. Once they saw my Lining was over 10 I think that may be why. As for the Yale student... that is terrible., Last I heard was that they found a body behind a wall in the lab. I havent caught up. Do they have suspects. I beleive it may be an old BF that may not have wanted her to get married. That is terrible.

stlgirl... I am still holding up trying to be patient in this dreaded 2ww. Aaaarrgghhh!!!! I have been doing the same. MY DH feels so positive about this one and I sort of do too, but I still cant also think as usual it will be a BFN. I am keeping my fingers crossed for us all. I really want another beautful healthy little baby. I tell the lord.. that instead of letting one of these teenage girls or women that decide to throw their babies away, instead let me have that baby. I will love and cherish the baby with my life. GL hun. Let me know if u find aything. DO u plan on POAS? When is your Beta?

alizee.. welcome hun and COngrats on your Tranfer. I tranfered 1 frosty on the 10th as well. So when is your Beta set for? Have u been feeling anything yet? Good Luck hun.

Karling.. I use to do my shots somewhere else if I wasnt going to be home. I had a little pouch where I would put med, syrnges, alcohol pads. I would just put the lupron back in the fridge as soon as I got home.

Shelby... Poor baby :( Isnt it terrible what we have to go thru. Sorry but wolfie is right, u wont be able to get releif from that for about 9+ months  So any news on triggering tonight? GL.

Wolfiee.. How r u feeling? IS your throat feeling any better? Now I am getting scared. I noticed the top of my mouth more towards my back started feeling sore this morning as if I have a cut. I just looked in the mirror and there is a little white soar there. Now i dont know if I am starting to catch something or if I actually did cut my self with a peice of food. I guess I will have to see if I get any more soars back there. Yikes.

Johannita... U r now Crowned the POAS Queen of the Board!!! :P LoL. It is too cute. So did u do any more today. U have 2 more days left for your Beta right? Good Luck hun.
I am 32 yrs / DH is 34

wolfie - yes, PGD does allow you to know the sexes but we opted not to know. We have decided if we have one we'll let it be a mystery, if two though, we will find out. I know kinda silly, but we didn't want to control it. :D

Johannanita - after all the ups and downs of the fertility roller coaster you probably won't really feel 'safe' until you have your arms wrapped around your little one. At least that is how I was with my son. I even bought an at home fetal heart rate moniter off of ebay so I could check my son's heartbeat whenever I wanted some reasurrance. My dh thought I had lost my mind but one day I left him a voicemail of just the heartbeat and he loved it. He still has it saved in his phone and my ds is almost 15 months old!

karling - when I had to take my injections away from home before (was at a wedding) I had everything packed in a little mini cooler. I did not draw up any of the medication prior but rather brought everything with me. It really wasn't too much of a hassle.

teachermom - when will you be seing your RE again? what is the game plan now?

alizee - welcome! I jsut had an FET with 2 5 day blasts. They were pretty good quality. Still waiting on the beta. did your RE give the embryos grades?

shelby - how ya doing today? YAY for great lining and great follies!

akowens - have you shared your concerns with your RE or nurse? I was 27 during my first IVF cycle and my RE was very careful not to over stim me. I can't remember how many follies I had but I only had 9 eggs retrieved - 5 of which were mature. Overstimulating can be so dangerous that a lot of REs are very careful to avoid that in younger patients.

karentthescorpio - welcome! there are lots of great women on this forum and this thread in particular! Most of us are cycling in Sept/Aug we are just at different stages of the process. Stick around!!

stlgirl - I am holding up okay. I don't feel anything. no different at all. the only thing I have noticed is that I have been having trouble sleeping at night. I seem to wake up a lot or I'm just not in a very deep sleep. I has some little twinges (I won't even call them cramps) the day of and the day after transfer but that's been it. I wish I was feeling something. Today I am 3dp5dt and I think I am going to test on 5dp. I know that will be really early but I am getting so antsy. I just wish I was feeling something.

michele - the last time I went in before transfer was Sept 2 and then my transfer was on the 12th. I guess they figured that if everything looked good at that last appt. that there is no need to come in again b/c things can only get better. I would imagine that if they wanted to bring you back in it woul dbe b/c something may not be exactly where they want it. I can't wait to hear how things go for you! I haven't been able to catch much about the Yale student. It seems like the news here talks about it for a minute or so and then moves on. What a tragedy.

Lady J - my sore throat is much better today. still a little scratcy but MUCH better. I am kinda feeling down b/c I don't feel any different at all after the FET. no symptoms that i can even relate to the PIO. nothing. i know it's too early. I plan on POAS at 5dpt but I know that it is not likely taht it will be positive. I am repared for that. During my first cycle I did get a BFP on a HPT at 7dp5dt. It was super dark so that's why I am thinking I will try 5 days post this time.

AFM, I'm trying to find my PMA today. I just feel drained.

Lady J- all reports say that the main suspect is possibly a lab technician who failed a polygraph earlier in the week, and they said this morning that they expect to make an arrest today and then came out and said no, an arrest in not imminent. I think there is a lot more to this story. They only have one picture of her on camera from that day and there are over 70 cameras outside that building. Clothes were found in a ceiling tile and her body stuffed in a crawl space in the basement...and a fire alarm went off the same time as this, sounds like a premeditated act by an insider who knew what they were doing. Yale will face a lot of scrutiny on this one.

HI Everyone,

got my last ultrasound today and will trigger today :-)
I am so nervous about ET on Thursday, I never had an anesthesia before.
and I hate those power drinks - they are awful, worse than the injections.

shelby - would have been great if we would have triggered on the same day :-)

wollfie -thanks for the advise with the RX I am going to get some of those and hope it will help until thursday. how many more days before you know?

starting Cetritide on Sept 18th

Post by karenthescorpio »

Hey ladies. I should have better stated that I start my first injections on Friday, Sept 18th. I'm being put on what they call the "Crash" protocol. I guess b/c of my age (will be 39 in Nov). Has anyone done this protocol? So excited to get this process rolling! Also, I am in Northern NJ. Anyone else?

statsgoddess - I am doing morning and evening shots of gonal-f. Evening also includes a low dose HGC shot, a lupron shot, and a baby asprin. I think last night was the first night I've woken up in the middle of the night, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke.

claud662 - I'm not getting my E2 numbers either. I figure if there is nothing I can do about it except stress, maybe I'm better off? Or maybe I'm just an ostrich with my head in the sand?

I'm curious what everyone's experiences at their clinics are like. Mine keep telling me everything is perfect on every visit I ever go on. After the first couple of visits, I left feeling pretty proud of myself, but now I'm a bit suspicous. The PMA is great, but I'd really like to know if there are concerns.

kiwi - YAY for the trigger! You are almost PUPO!!! What are the power drinks you are talking about? My beta isn't scheduled until the 25th! I am going to POAS on Thursday. I know it's super early but I'm okay with that. The 2WW is so horrible!!! I got a positive on a HPT 7dp5dt last time around and it was very strong so I think I'll try again.

karenthescorpio - what is the crash protocol? I've never heard of it before.

"crash protocol"

Post by karenthescorpio »

Hey wolfie. I had to look up the crash protocol too (to get more detailed info on it that my nurse didn't go into). Basically, I go in for bloodwork on the 21st day (this Friday) of my current cycle to check if I ovulated...and if this is confirmed, then I start taking Cetritide (which suppresses my ovaries from developing another egg for the next month). Then they say about a week later my next cycle will start and on CD 2 or CD 3 I'll start the stims.
