Hi everyone - I just wanted to give my update because I kind of fell off for quite some time, and I know a few girls from my old thread may be curious - but we had our 6w3d u/s yesterday and we saw the heartbeat!!! This has been such an agonizing and painful road for us everystep of the way, so to hear the words "we see the heartbeat" just made me lose total emotional control and I cried really hard for quite a while.

I've never been much of a poster this time around, and I haven't been much support for you ladies....sorry. This will probably be the last time I'm heard from on this board, so I wish everyone happiness!

Hi everyone!

Sorry I kind of fell of the boards, I have been crazy busy at work along with bringing the work home to finish. It has been all I can do to get everything done and get to bed at a somewhat decent hour.

JDC - not sure if you'll read this, but congrats on the heartbeat, I still feel the same way every time we see the heartbeat.

Clemo - sorry about the session being canceled but sounds like the clinic is moving forward to schedule the cycle. Yeah!

Poohgirl - great news! Good luck with your donor's stims.

Carolyn - I don't know how you wait so long between scans, I'd go crazy!

Kim - sorry about your nephew, keep taking those prenatals and washing those hands! Read below for my weight story  I haven't had any nausea, so hopefully you won't either.

Stef - hope that pain has gone away. How is your progesterone levels doing?

Gigi - Sorry to hear about your sons MRI. I hope the next one gives better results. How are you feeling? When do you do your beta?

Sabi - how are you doing? Hopefully work isn't too hectic.

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

AFM - I went to my first OB appt on Monday. My cousin referred me to him and he is great. I got to see the heartbeats again and one of the babies was moving all around ... he said, "Look, he's saying hi mom." I almost lost it when he said that! After the exam he came back and sat down with me for about 30 minutes. It was great. He answered all of my questions and because of my history and he doesn't want me to stress I'll be going in every two weeks. Ahhhh, what a relief. Ok, so they weighed me ... I was so scared to look at the scale ... I gained 3 pounds! My pants barely button and I've gained only 3 pounds?! I guess it is just all in one place and without running I'm not as toned as I was. Oh, I almost forgot the best part ... I get to stop the PIO and estrogen patches on Sunday. Yeah!!!

JDC, so happy to hear about your WONDERFUL scan. Hate to lose you. Take care.

Hopeful, what week are you now? Sorry to hear that work is wiping you out. Take care of yourself! Very stressful day yesterday - DS and DH both went home with fever and sick. Both were tested for H1N1 and both turned out negative. I had already called my RE and they said that the H1N1 is very dangerous for pregnant women, suggested I wear a mask and stay away from them. When tests came back neg I was relieved.

Clemo, sorry to hear that your counseling session was cancelled, but it seems they are proceeding as normal. Once you get started time will fly by. My RE believes I have AT LEAST two that stuck. My DH is really worried about the third. I'm not, I would love it.

Pooh, sounds like you are on your way. I definetly believe in those 5-day transfers! Keep us posted on the progress.

AFM, I go for my last blood draw tomorrow morning. My last HcG number was 4844 at 17dp5dt. All I hope each time is that my numbers don't go down. I can hardly wait for my 1st scan. I just love hearing you all tell about your scans, the heartbeats, babies moving, etc.

Take care all,
Kim

Hi:

Kim: stay healthy. glad the test was negative. Whew.
That beta is high.

Sabi: where are you? hope you are doing okay.

poohgirl: what is happening? did you order your meds? Are you doing the patch thing yet? Not digging 2 needles a day of progesterone.

Clemo: Did you have the last counseling session as of now? It's nice to get that over with soon.

ASFM: took home test 10dpt and am pregnant. nice, dark line but having 2 miscarriages at 11 and 18 weeks in the last year still makes me apprehensive about being excited. I know it's different this time though.
Son has MRI again this Friday. Just praying all is good. Not worrying actually. Prayer is a wonderful thing.

Hope to hear more from you all soon....Clemo and Poohgirl are next!!!!

Congrats Gigi!!! Keep the PMA up!

Kim - glad to hear the tests were negative. Scary, I'm sure. I'm currently 10 weeks 2 days. With those betas you definitely have at least 2 ... can't wait to find out

AFM I have been told I can go off all meds after today, well PIO and the patches. I'm a little nervous, but both my OB and the clinic confirmed so I'm trusting them. I was really excited when they first told me I got to stop the meds, even started counting down each night when we did the shot, but the last two days I started to worry. I guess we never really stop worrying

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

JDC - Congratulations! All the best for the rest of your pg. :)

Hopeful - That's great that you're happy with your OB. I'm sure you must be apprehensive about stopping the meds but as you say, we have to trust that our Dr's know what's best.

Kim - I hope time goes quickly till your scan. I can imagine you must be dying to know how many bubs you have in there! Good luck sweetie.

Gigi - Yay!!!!!!! :D Congratulations babe. How many embies did you transfer? Good luck for your beta.

Poohgirl - How are things going?

AFM - My cuz and I went to our nurse session on Friday. It was great coz they showed us a timeline of the cycle which really helped my cuz get an understanding of things. She already knew the basics from my prevous cycles but I spose it's very different when you're actually doing it.
So we picked up the bcp and synarel for my cuz and sorted out the dates.

We're starting the cycle with my next period which is due the week after we get back from Thailand. Yay!

We fly out next Thurs!!! Woohoo!!! Can't wait.

JDC - congratulations on hearing the heartbeat and I wish you the very best for a smooth pregnancy!

GIGI - Hooray for your positive HPT!!! Wonderful that you have this good news. When is your official Beta? Will be thinking of you and hope all goes well with your son's next MRI.

Poohgirl -- hope all is well and that your cycle and that of your donor are progressing according to plan! Update us when you can.

Clemo - so jealous of your upcoming holiday!! Enjoy!!! And then you will be on your way to your BFP! So glad your last counseling session went well and that you and your cousin have a plan in hand.

Kim - when do you have your 1st scan? I am sure you must be very excited to see what is going on in there! So happy all is going well and that the H1N1 tests came back negative -- but still be careful.

Hopeful - have trust in your doctors and I am sure they are getting you off the meds at the right time and not too early.

Pauline - how was your meeting in Prague? Hope all is well.

Stef - how are you doing these days??

Hope the other moms to be - Carolyn, Sabi & chriss - are doing well.

Hi to Kelly and jenB and anyone I might have missed!

I am well. Have the last of my appointments till the baby comes all lined up. Got my fingers crossed that s/he won't come any earlier than expected. Looking forward to reading everyone's updates over the next weeks and months and I will keep posting as time allows! Thinking of all of you and wishing you the very best.

Hey there Ladies,

Glad to hear everyone is well!

I have been terrible about posting. I have been keeping up but am usually so tired after work that getting on the computer does not sound great. I had my u/s last wk, everything is looking good. One little been meas 8w3d at 8w with 174 h/b. I have been very tired. My eating is off, I could be starving and then I eat something and feel sick half way through. I am showing and my pants don't fit well even though my weight has stayed about the same. Kaiser won't pay for genetic testing since my donor was only 26, I almost wish I would have lied and said they were my eggs.

Work is crazy and I feel guilty so I better go,

Stef - what does that mean that your insurance won't pay for genetic testing? Do you mean the prenatal testing or something else?

Congrats on the little bean with the great heartbeat!

Summer, I am 37, but the donor is 26. If I did not tell them about the donor Kaiser would pay for all the genetic and diagnostic testing. I.e. downs, cerebral palsy, nuchal scan, etc. I have to pay out of pocket if I want it done and that is expensive.

How far along are you now? I thought you still had a month to go and was surprised you just had your last visit. I hope you are feeling well and can't wait to hear about the birth. Do you have everything ready? Picked out names? It sounds like fun.

Summer - Not long now!!!! How exciting. I bet it must be nice to get to hear bubs every week now. Are you down to weekly apps yet?

Stef - That's great news that your scan went well. I wish you a smooth and enjoyable preg. Shame about your private health not covering the testing. Can I ask how they would know if they're your eggs or not? And surely since you are carrying the bub, your own insurance should cover you???? Maybe it's different in Australia.

Wishful - Hello! Good to see you. How is everything going? Have you been shopping and preparing yet?

Hi Stef - can't believe that with your insurance! I mean in order to get "true" results, you do have to disclose the age of the donor, otherwise the results will be based on your age and wouldn't be completely accurate -- but still -- Is your insurance basically telling you that if you were indeed 26 and got pregnant that you wouldn't be able to have any prenatal testing covered??? Seems the prenatal testing is designed to help rule out any complications later on, which would certainly be more costly in the long run -
Can't your doctor somehow give you a high risk status so these tests would be covered? Sorry, but I'm really surprised!!

And you are right, technically my due date is October 27th, but I'm having a scheduled c-section on the 15th, due to both scarring from fibroid surgery as well as 2 fibroids that are still present, which would make for a difficult natural birth. I've known from the outset that a c-section was what I would have to expect if and when I ever got pregnant --

I'm still seeing the doctor and will be until the 12th, that is my last appointment. At this point, I guess we are as ready as we will ever be! It is nice that at the hospital they have "rooming in", so the baby is with you all the time and the midwives apparently keep a good eye on you to make sure you are staying on schedule feeding the baby and making sure all is going well.

Hope everyone is doing well! We are having another blast of summer here, which I don't mind one bit.

gigi, so happy about your BFP!!!! I will be praying for your DS's MRI Friday.

Summer, just 35 days to go. I hope you have everything ready.

Stef, that is hard to believe about the insurance not paying for testing when you are carrying the baby. Do you live in the US? I'm wondering if I might run into the same issue. Glad to hear about the good scan.

Poohgirl, have you started any meds yet?

Clemo, when do you get to start with meds? Any projected date for transfer?

Hopeful, you are 4 weeks ahead of me. More than I had thought. I hope everything is going okay for you.

AFM, My beta Friday didn't come back as high as it has been. It was 23,045. I was expecting around 35,000 - 36,000. Sunday night I started bleeding very heavy - called RE and he suggested another prog. oil shot and then went in Monday morning early for a scan. There were two, but one was filled with blood. I still have one and it had a 150 bpm heartrate. I have to be off my feet through today. I have really had mixed emotions. I really wanted multiples, but so happy I have one that looks strong, and then grieving the one that didn't make it. I still want to be cautious until my next scan on 9/30.

Take care all,
Kim

Kim, I am sorry that the other sac was empty. I agree though, having one with a 150 heartbeat is wonderful. That is a really nice heart rate!

Summer
Glad to hear you are rooming in with baby. I loved having my little one in the same room as me. My son wasn't able because of complications but my daughter stayed with me. Alot of wonderful bonding and low worry because of her being there with me. It's nice when everyone else has gone home and it will be just the two of you.

Stef, great heads up about the insurance info. I thought nuchal scan was pretty common and part of regular protocol now. I personally won't do CVS this time but expect to do a regular US and early nuchal scan. Honestly, genetic testing rarely picks up on anything but the big issues...and the big issues are usually seen in Ultra sound and nuchal scan.

Clemo: Getting close.

Poohgirl: you are ready to go.
Sabi: How are you doing?

AFM: we transferred 2 embies. Tomorrow is our first beta and friday is second one...the same day as son's MRI. Craziness over here.

Take care ladies. I love reading your posts. THe site was down one day and I was sad I couldn't hear how all of you were doing.
