Ian - Yep my breastfeeding class is today. I don't think DH will be able to go with me. He usually has to work thursday nights. If I knew for sure, you could just take his spot. It's not a class he really wants to go to anyway. lol. Walking seems to make my ankles swell worse. I was hoping the swelling would go down while I slept last night but it didn't completely. One ankle was better and the other still looked like an elephant foot. lol. I've been trying to watch my sodium intake. I just think I've been on my feet too much with visiting my family last weekend and work. I'm definitely going to mention it to my doctor though if the swelling doesn't go down. I'm feeling kicks in the vaginal area too. It's definitely a weird feeling.

kicks

Post by Tara2009 »

I feel the kicks in the vaginal area too! The movements have become much stronger in the past two weeks. DH can feel them so well when he puts his hands on my belly.

It is so cute to watch my belly jumping as the baby kicks. We watched a couple of "hiccups" scenario as well :-) Awwwwww....so sweet...

Tara - I think that's great the kicks are getting stronger. I like seeing my belly jump too. I wish DH would feel the twins kick. He thinks it's creepy to feel that. My mom tried so hard to get him to feel them.

Ian - The breastfeeding class is really good. Take notes in there. I felt like I was on information overload when I was done, but I have a hard time sitting and listening for 3 hours. It sounds like they go through a lot of the information after we deliver which will be helpful as a refresher. How was your gestational diabetes test?

Cymplicity - Can you tell which twin is kicking? I think I feel the girl most of the time. I can't really tell when the boy is kicking.

AFM - My ankle bone finally started to show this morning. I'm going to post some baby bump pics this weekend on facebook and I'll put some on here.

Aims: Well, I ended up shopping until 6:30! My feet were swollen, it's the first time I actually had CANKLES! They are better this morning, but I know I'm just going to be altogether bigger this pregnancy- I'm up to 160 now, which is a 15LB weight gain. I just hate the numbers!

Glad to hear the class was chock full of info- I'm not sure if my DH will go with me, I'll leave it completely up to him. I had to start using at special device to start drawing the nips out- it is so weird. Lansinoh makes it, it's like a little suction cup thingy and helps to break the adhesions keeping them from sticking out. Who knew, and sorry if that's TMI.

My test was fine, but they won't know the results for a couple of days and will only call if I need to go back in for the 2nd test. Rumsey isn't worried about the infection, as it will not affect the baby or labor or delivery, which is good news. I just may have to face the reality that it's just going to be there for the duration of my pregnancy.... Which is fine, so long as I continue to NOT have any irritating symptoms.

OH! And he said the kicks in the 'nether regions' are totally normal. I just didn't have the luck of having them last time until that last 4 weeks. So that was good to hear too. The movements can sometimes freak me out, it just feels like an alien trying to get out! :) I love my little alien though!

Have a great weekend ladies!

Whoa...I am sooo far behind! I haven't been receiving any email alerts...hmmm.

Trying, so glad DH came back and I hope you two have been working things out since then. Women have more control over these things than what we tend to think. It sucks that we are the ones that have to do a complete 180 in these situations but it's usually what it takes. Men constantly need their egos stroked, need to be rewarded, to feel needed and loved. It's like you have to suck up your feelings and totally concentrate on them and their needs. As if we don't have enough to worry about!!! I listen to Dr. Laura occassionally (some days I love her and some I truly hate her, lol) but I know she has a book called The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands that touches on this very subject. It's like you can't control how he's responding to you so you might as well work on what you can control, how you respond to him. However you decide to deal with it I'm really praying things work out for you!!!

aims, I can tell the kicks apart. My babies are still forming a "T". The girl is laying across the top and the boy is head down below her. He's the one I can feel in my vajayjay!! Some times it really hurts my cervix but it hasn't been as bad lately. The girl is just adorable. It feels like she's doing little dances in there :D . The kicks are definitely getting stronger. Oh, my boy is also constantly kick the girl! I have a 3D pic on my fridge of her and all you see of him is his butt and little feet kicking her in the head, LOL!

AFM, my little girl is said to have PAC or premature atrial contractions, slightly irregular heartbeat. The doc assured me it's nothing to worry about and fetus grow out of it before they are born or shortly afterwards. DH and I went to our Baby Care Basics class and I have my breastfeeding class in early Oct. I can't wait because I am truly clueless and terrified! LOL I also have my baby shower at the begining of Oct. My glucose screening is next Wed and I'll also get another fibronectin test and pray for another negative. I've been feeling good lately and really don't want to go on hospital bed rest :(. I haven't noticed any swelling. My back has really been giving me problems though. If I'm out for more than a couple hours I'm in so much pain. I'm not suppose to be out much anyway and when I'm home as I should be I'm fine. But I went to church the other day and to dinner and a movie last night and my back was killing me. Guess I'll just stay put at home as much as possible :? .

Hey there Cynthia! Good to hear from you... I was beginning to wonder how you were doing, but check in on you on FB from time to time. I can't imagine how bad your back pain must be! My hips kill me when I sleep, how are you dealing with that? Hang in there, you're doing so well cooking those babies up!

cymplicity - I know what you mean about the back pain. I think my hip pain while sleeping is the worst though. I think I feel both babies kicking, but the boy's feet are so close to the girl that it's hard to tell the difference sometimes. Good luck on the glucose test. I had mine yesterday. I was given the choice of orange or fruit punch. Since I don't like orange drinks I chose the fruit punch. It wasn't too bad.

AFM - I went to the perinatal doctor yesterday. He confirmed that the boy had a 2 vessel cord. All the baby's organs were normal, so he said we didn't have anything to worry about. He said 1 in a 100 babies has a 2 vessel cord. We asked him if there were any diet changes I could do to help get him nutrients. He didn't feel it was even a nutrient problem. He said there was nothing we could do about it. The girl weighed 2 1/2 lbs and the boy was 2 lbs. I was happy to see that he gained weight. I like this doctor but wish he didn't rush so much. He did my u/s and I didn't see much of the screen at all. DH saw the screen but he said it was hard to make anything out. I will continue to see this doctor every 2 weeks. He said I will most likely have them end of October into early November. I would like to wait until I'm 37 weeks, but I will do what's best for the babies. I just didn't want them in NICU if it could be helped. Besides if I had them early November, it could be on my birthday. :D

Aims, that sounds like reassuring news to me. I've heard that doc's bedside manner isn't the best, but he is very honest and to the point. Thinking about you everyday!

I had my sugar test yesterday instead of last Thursday. I had to
reschedule because of a conflict. I will know the results in a day
or two.

I had an ultrasound today(I am supposed to have one every 4 weeks)
Baby has been growing really well - 72 percentile growth. She has
flipped! Her head is down side now. And She
already weighs 3lbs!! The doctor said that's really heavy and
chubby. I hope its not because of the sugar though. I am nervous
until I find out my sugar test results.

I bought more of motherhood's 'secret fit belly' pants. They are
so comfy.

I have become so clumsy now. Getting up from the bed, sofa and
getting into the car and shutting the door - these are all
difficult for me now.

I am also having a lot of heartburns/acid reflux. My OB said either
Tums or Mylanta is ok.

Ladies, I have a concern. I don't think my breasts hasn't increased
in size significantly and I have not started leaking colostrum yet. At
28 weeks, is this something that I should worry about?

Tara.

Hi Tara, I know what you mean about being clumsy lately. I have been the same way. I don't think you have to worry at all about your breasts. With my first son I don't remember them ever leaking. Maybe not until right before I delivered or right after, but it definately wasn't this soon.

Cymplicity, THanks so much for the recommendation on that Dr. Laura book. I think I will get that. It maybe too late for this marriage, but I want to read it anyways. Hope all is well with you!

AFM: Not the greatest update. My DH has decided to move out for sure this time. He actually just signed a one year lease on a condo today. He is moving this weekend. In his eyes we are for sure over. He is moving really close by so he will help me with whatever I need for our baby and our older son. I'm really devasted. I can't even believe this is happening. We are still going to start counseling together, but he is only going to go for me. THe worst part is he has this new friend who is a girl on his softball team. He claims they are just friends. I even met her over the weekend at his game. She was super ugly so I felt like I didn't need to worry, but you never know. I guess they have alot in common and they have been talking on the phone all the time the last couple weeks. He has really only been talking to her about our problems. He didn't really want to talk about our situation with any of his guy friends. I understand he feels the need to talk to someone, but I'm not comfortable with it being some girl he just met a few weeks ago. I don't think that is appropriate. I wish he would confide in anyone else. I wish I could act like I don't care in front of him, but I just keep falling apart. Sorry for such a long post!

Trying, so sorry, I don't know what to say, except for you to not give up hope yet. Try not to cut yourself down. Hopefully with counseling, he'll see what a huge mistake he is making by just giving up. My heart just breaks for you and I hope you have a good support network of friends and family to help you too. And hey, if I can mail order you a pizza, I'd do it in a heart beat! :) If you can, try to focus on that little miracle inside you and cherish this time, because it'll be over before you know it. I'm sure that's easier said than done, but I'm thinking about you and praying for you.

Ian,

Why does your ticker say "Only 29 days to go"?

Tara: That is a very good question. Maybe somebody knows something I don't?? My due date is 12/3, so that makes no sense. I should just go get a different ticker.... but now I can't remember how to do all that stuff!!

Trying, so sorry things aren't getting better for you. But like Nicole says, don't give up! Hopefully something will come out of counseling and knock your DH in the head :P .

Tara, my boobs have gotten bigger and look horrible! They are just hanging down on my belly. My best friend just had her baby in Aug and we've already agreed to go get breast lift together when we're done having kids  . I just don't see them returning to what they use to be or even close at this point. But we'll see. DH is all for it of course. I also haven't started leaking colostrum.

I had my glucose screening and the drink wasn't bad at all! I chose the lemon flavor and it really tasted like diet sprite to me. Maybe I had prepared myself for the worse and it made it not so bad. So I passed that test. I also had another fetal fibronectin test and that came back negative! :D :D :D So seems this weak cervix of mine will hold the babies in at least another 3 weeks. Then I'll retest. My goal right now is to make it to 32 weeks. Anything after that is a plus!

I haven't started leaking colostrum yet either...which is fine with me...less mess!
My baby is kicking my cervix as much as she kicks my belly. My doc told me it was because she is breach...but she should turn the right way by delivery time. It's actually annoying sometimes to have her constantly kicking my...crotch. LOL
I did my glucose screening last Wednesday and was told that if I don't hear anything from them, then everything is fine. I haven't heard from them so I assume it was fine. Thank goodness!!
Glad to hear everyone is doing well and I love reading your posts!!
