I haven't posted in a while. I've had a couple of scares this week. From my signature, you can see my beta number didn't double at first and then it went from 596 to 1479. My doctor wanted me to have an ultrasound this week. I went on Monday ( i was 6wks 0 days). She didn't find a fetal pole and she also checked my beta number again. It was 10406. With the number being that high, she felt she should have "seen" something when she did the ultrasound. To make a long story short, I had to have another ultrasound on Wednesday at the hospital and a fetal hearttone was detected.

I have yet another ultrasound on Tuesday....

Hi! I am also due in mid-May (according to the internet calculators). I had my last beta today and have an ultrasound on Sept. 28th. It seems like soooo long away!
I have been laughing at you all that posted you were hoping for morning sickness because I have been too! My mom says I am crazy, but I feel like that will make it feel "real." I had one failed IVF in April and am incredibly nervous about this pregnancy even though my numbers are good. I am glad to have found you all on this board since we aren't telling anyone but family yet, it is nice to have people to talk to! Especially when you guys have the same worries I do!

Allie- Welcome to the board. You're so right, this is a great place to voice your concerns! Everyone is great on here!

gi- I love the ticker. I hope to put one up tomorrow. You're so right about being optimistic. It makes a huge difference, I think. Although i'm pretty much counting down the hours to tomorrow's u/s right now. I don't think i'll sleep a wink tonight!

tryn- That does sound scary. Know that we're here for you! I'm so glad that things are better know and YAY for hearing the heartbeat! That's wonderful news!

cheryl- I have my u/s at 7:20 CST, so you can bet that when I get to work at 8, i'll be posting an update on what happened. Thanks for the well wishes!

I was tired all morning and I'm actually starting to feel more energized now. I hope it lasts until I get home so that maybe I can take my dogs for a walk. They've been restless that I haven't been around all week and DH tries, but they like me best :-)

After what must have been the longest week of my life (and the worst night's sleep ever!) we have 2 heartbeats! Baby A is measuring in at 5mm with a hb of 118, Baby B is 6mm with a hb of 116. What a relief, I couldn't be happier!

JG - Congratulations! Wow! 2 precious little ones! You and DH must be so excited! How far along are you today?

Allie - Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

tryn4#2 - Soooo scary! Did your RE do your first u/s on a 3D machine? Regardless, so glad all is well! Let us know how your other one goes on Tuesday.

Gi - How funny about getting sick in the garden. All the little things that let us know our babies are fine...

Mjay - I sooooo had a fat, juicy burger yesterday for lunch. And I wiped out the chip isle in the store (I'm not a big carb person - well apparently now I am). I usually don't eat a lot of red meat either, but I could eat a burger for every meal! Yumo!!!

dtao - Good luck on reposting for the position! Your persistence could pay off! I would call a day or two after you send your resume to let them know you are still very much interested and feel you could provide the best level of service to the position (I used to recruit in a former life and those with "zeal" made the best impression).

So...does anyone have the desire to keep track of us May moms - like Shelby in the May thread? It would be so wonderful to have a ticker of the next dr's appts and ultrasounds.

AFM - just nervously waiting for my first u/s on Wednesday. I know that having one at 6w0d is likely not to have a heartbeat, but secretly I will be soooo devastated if we don't hear one. With my son last year, we started with 3 babies, then lost 2 before we could even hear their heartbeats.

JG I am sooo delighted for ye!! They sound like 2 healthy babies, can you believe you are having Twins!!!! How far are you?? Now you can get cracking on your ticker

Cheryl my scan was also at 6 days and we had no heartbeat, i am disappointed as it adds more worries for the next wk!!! Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones that do get a heart beat. Have to admit you can count me out of keeping track i am useless at things like that, i am amazed i figured out the ticker!!!!

gi- thanks! I will definitely be putting up a ticker soon!

cheryl- yes, if you see a heartbeat next week, great, but if you don't, try not to worry! For my last pregnancy, I did not see a heartbeat until 6w6days.

I wouldn't mind taking a crack at the update sheet (not sure if that's what it's called, but it sounded good!), unless someone else out there is just dying to do it!

It's weird, one of the babies measured 6w1day and the other measured 6w3d. The tech said that was perfectly fine. Today i'm supposed to be 6w2d, so I guess I go with that since it's right in between! I ended up having to take some Zofran (anti-nausea medication) this morning and I feel a ton better. I am worried that since I have had no appetite, that it can't be good for the babies' health, so I took the Zofran so I can eat and get something nutritious in me! Plus, I didn't want to get sick at work like I did yesterday.

jg- so happy you saw the heartbeats!!! i know how stressed you were b/c mine is just beginning. sorry about the nausea, that sounds awful. have you picked and ob/gyn or are you going with a maternal and fetal medicine doc? where do you want to deliver? i insist on loyola but can't find a doc that can get me in their schedule.

cheryl- DO NOT RUB IT IN! :D Stomach still too full to even think about a cheeseburger passing my lips, but i'm getting better. lol about the chips! me too! those are one of the few things i can eat that don't fill me up. i also have this thing about sour patch kids. i'm a chocolate lover and rarely go a day without my chocolate. funny, since i've been pregnant it hasn't had the same appeal, but i can't live without the sour patch kids!

allie- welcome, this is going to be great! so glad to have you.

tryin- so happy things are working out. just keep praying and be positive.

dtao- i say that reapplying definitely shows your committment and dedication to yourself and the job. good luck!

gi- you and i are in the same boat with the heartbeats. the waiting is killing me.

afm- still full from OHSS, but improving little by little. no more draining! i can wipe my butt without struggling now (sorry TMI). i had another sono yesterday and the twins are doing great. their measuring at the exact right size, but too early for heartbeats. my doc isn't going to be in next week so i have to wait a whole week for the next one. no nausea or soreness or anything yet, if not for the u/s and OHSS i wouldn't even know.

mjay - LOL, i'm totally addicted to Sour Patch Kids too! I'm normally a sugary sweet tooth kind of gal but lately it's been all about those darn candies. I have these little mini bowls I put a handful in each night.

AFM - still, and I mean still waiting for that darn first u/s. I swear, this 2ww is more of a struggle for me than waiting for the first. My 3rd beta came back on Monday at 7,241 so good there. My Doc has me doing them every week through Sept to make sure the numbers and progesterone is staying consistent. But I can't wait until next Wed for the first u/s, especially because I feel pretty normal. I've had no bleeding, nausea, my bb's are a little sore but nothing terrible. I think the only thing that finally started to kick in today as I've been starving all day, but then I looked back at what I ate and went well no wonder. Hmm, this waiting is killing me!

Hope you all have a great weekend! We are off to my Mother-In-Law's tomorrow. :-)

Kristy - you and I have the same day for our 1st u/s next week! When is yours? Mine is 2:15/cst. Good luck with yours!

JG - That would be AWESOME if you would start tracking due dates, how many babies, and next u/s (can anyone think of anything else to track?) YOU ROCK!

Aloha all :D
Popping in from the Aug/Sep IVF thread . . .
Got my BFP on 9/9/09 (what a lucky day!) . . . so I think that puts me at a little over five weeks . . . first beta was 284 and m second was 682, so my RE thunks it might be two little guys =) I have my first ultrasound on Thursday and I am very excited . . . nervous too though :)

I've been having some brown spotting, everyday since my BFP . . . about the size of a quarter . . . RE says not to worry unless it turns red, but I'm still a little concered . . . and curious as to why it's happening . . .

Glad to be here :D

Hi Everyone,

It is wonderful to see so many possitive results. Congratulations to all of us!

I am being bold and joining the board after receiving my BFP on September 16th. I received this wonderful news after 3 unsuccessful IVFs and 1 FET - still a little dazed by the news and wondering if it can really be true.

My doctor has only done one Beta HcG test so far on September 16th which was 300. He said nothing else we can do until the u/s on September 30th and even if we knew something was wrong, there is nothing we could do to change that. It is a little nerveracking.

Seems like I am the last one for now with a DD of May 21, 2010.

Welcome LuckyOne and deftonesmo!!

Deftonesmo - you and I had the same results for ER and such. My beta was 313 and they're guessing it's twins too! My first u/s in Wed.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's 7:15 p.m. here and I'm already so tired that I'm probably going to bed soon. I'm quite the life of the party lately!
