Summer, good luck with the paperwork on Tuesday:) Did you pick out an outfit to take your baby home from the hospital in? You are sooooo close.
Carolyn, glad you heard those healthy heartbeats! Have you decided how to decorate the nursery? Are you waiting to find out the sex of the babies? I can't remember what you decided.
Hey Sabi, how's school going? Hope you are taking it a little easy.
AFM... Drove to work this morning, walked in the door and walked right back out 10 minutes later... more contractions... non-stop. Went straight to doctor. Turns out those contractions might me causing my cervix to open a little on the inside. So NO MORE WORK FOR ME. I am home on the couch right now. They will be monitoring me closely and tell me there are things they can do if cervix doesn't chill out. I am nervous girls. This is too early!!! Up until now, this pregnancy was a breeze. Suddenly I hit the 20 week mark and whamo... contraction city. Scared.
Hi chriss - You are doing the right thing. Have trust in and listen to your doctor. Are you on complete bedrest or modified? Concentrate on yourself and your babies. Find some of that stored up PMA and use it. Try not to let your nerves get the best of you. You are already halfway there. Practice your yoga relaxation breathing. How often will you be monitored by your doctor? Will a nurse come by to check on you? Do hope the contractions lessen and that this is all just temporary. So sorry to hear this is happening! I do think I remember reading that one of the Nov or Dec girls with twins also had to go on bedrest relatively early on as well..I think her name is Cynthia, perhaps you could talk to her and she can offer up some advice. Also one of the girls on the Oct thread has twins already and was also on bedrest pretty early on, and her twins were born healthy. She is now pg with a singleton, due in Oct. Her name is "twinmom". Take it easy and take very good care!!!
My appt with the midwife at the hospital went well. Filled out most all of my forms and met with the anesthesiologist. I still have to meet with the surgeon and then finish the registration paperwork. DH will choose something for the baby to wear home. I know he will like that. He has some favorite outfits already. My mom also sent us the cutest Halloween pjs...Even though no one even knows what that is here...
Better late than never, going to start a birthing course this week -- Should have done that earlier but wasn't aware that I needed that with a scheduled c-section, but was told it could be helpful and informative. Pretty sure I will be the oldest one there! But, I try not to think about that!
Take good care everyone!

Chriss, congratulations on two miracle boys!!! How perfect!!! I am praying for you and the little ones. Everything will work itself out. I am glad you aren't working anymore. Get plenty of rest. xxx
Wishfull: How long are you going to work? Does everyone know you are preggo now?
Sabi: How are you lovely? I cant believe all three of you are having twins!!
hi chriss - good luck at the doctor today! thinking of you.
just letting you girls know, the childbirth class I am going to at the hospital seems like it will be very informative. I assumed it would be all about actually having the baby through natural childbirth, but the midwife who runs it talks about so much more than that and gave us some really nice stretching and relaxation exercises to do at home. I just wanted to let you know that it is well worth the time and not to wait as long I as I did to start!!
Hope everyone is doing well. Wishing everyone reading a great weekend!

Hi Summer,
Glad the classes are going well. Sounds like fun. I want to look into them too. How are you feeling?
Went to OB today and he helped to calm my nerves a bit. He will check my cervix every week instead of every other week. He says if it makes me feel better, he will do it. He also told me again that the uterine activity I am experiencing is "normal" for a twin pregnancy. He also will refer me for a consult with a high risk OB just to set my mind at ease. I feel better about things. He measured my belly and told me I measure the same as a 28 week singleton pregnancy and it's no wonder I am feeling the contractions. I'm getting big girls!
Thinking of you all. Enjoy the weekend.
XOXO
Chris
Hi chriss,
I really think you are in good hands with your doctor. Glad you have someone like that taking care of you and your little guys. I would take him up on the offer to check you more often and to see the high risk doc -- it really will relax you. I was happy for all the extra visits I got to have, it really put my mind at ease. I know what a long hard journey it has been to get to this point, and it is easy to start feeling nervous and anxious.
Have you started to feel them moving around yet? I am sure you will soon. Later, you can feel them kicking you, and you can poke them back and they will poke you again -- it is really pretty funny when they play with you like that.
I am feeling pretty good, thanks for asking. The only complaints I have are swollen ankles and heartburn -- which for so far along, I really have nothing to complain about - just a bit more uncomfortable than I have been this whole time.
I'm sure you have a nice looking bump there! Enjoy it, it will keep you nice and warm this coming fall and winter!! Mine seems to be growing exponentially these last days -- I had to break down and buy some other pants, as I was down to one pair that were comfortable...
Enjoy taking part in the classes that are offered to you. They are also reassuring - and let you know that things you are feeling are really completely normal. Even getting tips on the best ways to get in and out of bed were helpful. The classes also help prepare you for what is coming up ahead after the baby arrives -- Just coming from a person, and not just reading about it in a book makes it seem all the more real somehow...
Take it easy everyone and have a nice weekend,
xx summer

Chriss - hope you are feeling better now that you staying off your feet more. I'm sure that was quite a scare for you, but you sound like you have a great doctor.
Sabi - I hear you with the being tired ... these school days are long after a summer off!
Summer - you are so close, how exciting!
Carolyn -sounds like you are doing great, good to hear.
I finally decided to hop on over here. I guess I was afraid to jinx myself but I have a question for you ladies who are farther along. At what point were you taken off the meds, was it all at once? I went to OB/GYN and he said tomorrow would be my last day, at 10 weeks 2 days. Does this sound right, I'm just so nervous to stop them. My nurse at the clinic actually told me I could stop at 9 weeks, or I could wait until I saw my OB, which I did ... way to nervous about this.
Thanks Sabi. I'm going to call the clinic tomorrow and just double check with the doctor and even then I think I'll just finish off the vial I have left. I'll only have about 5-6 days left of the PIO, so maybe I'll just taper off slowly I was so excited when he said I could stop taking the shots, we were counting down the days, but the past 24 hours I started worrying that maybe it was to soon. Do we ever stop worrying?!
Hi Sabi,
Great to hear from you. Sorry you are so exhausted!! Hope all is otherwise going well with your pregnancy. It is fun to start shopping! We have done a lot of second hand shopping as well and when we buy something new, we think -- probably in about a year we will also be selling this to someone who can use it.... Do you know what you are having???
Hi Carolyn, hope all is going well with you!! Yes, it is all starting to seem very real now. Last night, realized that we have only 2 weekends alone as a couple, then my mom arrives, and on the following weekend, the baby will already be here! If it were to come tomorrow, we have everything we need, but are just having fun now shopping for little things for our little one...
Hopeful - welcome!! I was on my meds till the end of the 13th week, and was then weaned off of them till the end of the 15th week. My DE clinic decided on that protocol. I only know it had to do with the fibroids I have, that is why I was on the meds for longer than what is usual.
How far along are you and when is your next scan?
Hi chriss - hope you are resting comfortably this weekend!!
Take good care,
xx summer

Welcome hopeful. I think I stopped the meds at 10 weeks.
Sabi, good idea to get cleaning person. Mind if I ask you what you pay? DH wants to get one in because I can't move around much and he is so busy with work
Summer... wow girl. Just a few weeks and it is mommy time! Thinking of you. I want to cry for you!! Happy Cries!!!
Hey Carolyn, how you feeling?
AFM... still rumbling along in the uterus!!! Crazy I tell you. Tomorrow I go for the cervix check. Kind of scared. Keeping the faith.
Chriss - Good luck tomorrow at your appointment! Keep us updated.
Thanks for the welcome Summer! I'm 10 weeks 2 days.
I called the clinic and they confirmed I'm good to stop all meds. My next scan is on the 30th.
Sabi, we are also considering getting someone to come in and clean every 2 weeks. My weekly acupuncture ends in 2 weeks, so we figure the money I've been spending on that can be applied to having the house cleaned. I've been doing light cleaning, but nothing like scrubbing the shower or floors. I'm afraid I'll get spoiled and once the babies come I'll still want the house cleaned every 2 weeks
Hi Carolyn, hope everything is going well with you!
