Hi All,
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Our Chicago Bears beat the SuperBowl Champs yesterday, so DH and I were excited about that. I was supposed to go to the game yesterday, but I get so tired just from making the bed, that I didn't think I could make that mile and a half long walk from the "L" to the stadium. DH went without me and I ended up falling asleep before the game started and didn't wake up until the third quarter. I've never been a napper, so this is all so new to me.

Welcome LuckyOne and Deftonesmo! You'll love it here!

Deftonesmo- your numbers sound great to me! I also had some brown spotting after BFP, I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to stress too much about it. It's very common after IVF cycles, especially if you are taking progesterone. I'm sure it'll go away soon.

mjay- since you mentioned sour patch kids, that's all i've wanted lately! I went to the store looking for those sour punch straws and couldn't find them, so I got these things called "Rips" (I think), and they are the best thing ever! I have no idea what hospital i'm using yet, I don't have a regular OBGYN! I'm looking into them now, but we have a brand new hospital out by me in Elgin that opens in December and I heard that they are all private rooms, so I think I want a doctor that will deliver there. Especially with twins, it would be nice to have a little privacy! Loyola would be great for you, i've heard nothing but great things!

Cheryl- I will start making the list now. For now it'll just be bare bones (no flashy pictures, etc.), but i'll try to add them as I go. I can't find any sites that do cute things for pregnancy tracking yet.

gi- i'm with you on the nausea. I feel good this morning, but I brought some ginger ale to work with me and I also have ginger cookies. I hope I can make it through the work day without getting sick!

JG- I'm with you on being tired. I told my DH to sell our 2 extra U2 tickets and just go with his friend. I LOVE them, but I keep thinking that the concert is wayyyyy past my 8 p.m. bedtime now. ha!

Thanks again for being our "historian!" Don't worry about the fancy stuff, I'm sure what you put together will be great.

Here's my info if you want to start compiling (that way you don't have to look in previous msgs). Please let me know if I missed something:

Thanks JG for the list! It's nice to be able to see everyone's status so clearly.

My first U/S is tomorrow and I am so nervious! Mostly I'm freaked out because my lack of morning sickness. I'm afraid all my other symptons are from the projesterone I'm taking. I'm sure these feelings are normal, but I wish I could just take a nap till tomorrow morning!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks JG. That looks really good, wow.

I think we are all still sharing in some of the gitters. After trying so hard (and for some of us for so long), it is hard to believe the BFP. I have not had any morning sickness as of yet. However, given that I have a horrible cough and now cold, I have had to hug my toilet bowl several times, actually yesterday was the only day I did not. Seems like chicken soup will stay down. However, that is probably the virus not the hormones.

I just wish there would be something to do. I did not expect this much of a second wait after IVF's initial wait of two full weeks before the beta. Trying to sleep and pass my time with watching TV.

Funny you all are talking about event tickets. I have two for Pink in early November. Got them for my sis birthday and now I am thinking of giving her both, instead of treating her to the gig. I am also tired and can go to sleep at 8 or 9 pm every day.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Sorry ladies for being a little absent. We were up at my MIL for her birthday this weekend which made her so happy. She already knew our BFP and I've told her to just keep good thoughts for the u/s on Wed. I've been feeling a little yucky the last couple of days. Lots of cramping, no spotting though. My Doc has me do Beta's until next week. Seem's excessive but whatever he wants. So far we've seen 242, 500+ (forgot that number), last week was 7,241 and I just went this morning for my next one which I haven't yet heard the results of.

Cheryl - my u/s is at 12:30 PST so just 15mins after yours. I'lll make sure I post the results. With my numbers I think we could be one or two, but who know's. I'm just hoping the cramping is ok. All that I've read seems to say it's normal.

Good luck to all. Great to see so many women on this board!!

hey all!

my last u/s was on 9/17 and my next one is on 9/28. i'm so nervous!

for those of us expecting twins, i wanted to recommend a book i am reading (if you don't have it already). it's called when you're expecting twins, triplets, or quads by dr. barbara luke and tamara eberlein. this book gives a lot of useful info regarding multiples from pregnancy, possible NICU stays, bringing the babies home and most importantly diet before and after childbirth. it has changed my whole prespective on my pregnancy and i'm being much more proactive. i felt it was realistic without being scary.

cheryl- my ohss has subsided to the point where i think i'll be having my cheeseburger this week!!!!!

faith- i haven't had any morning sickness either, so don't worry. i think we should just be grateful for the time being. i feel like my ohss more than made up for it.

jg- GO BEARS! i missed the entire game :x . where do you live? i live in bellwood. i chose loyola b/c they have the highest level of amenities if there are any problems and it's 5 minutes away. i'm waiting to hear back from their maternal/fetal medicine drs. rather than an ob/gyn.

i called today to ask if i could drink water and have sex/orgasm now that my ohss is better. the nurse told me yes and got me all excited. then she asked my RE and he said no. he wants to be very careful with me. i have to wait to discuss it with him on the 28th. no matter what i drink i'm soooo thirsty. i feel like water is the only thing that will quench my thirst. is anyone else thirsty? like the rest of you all, i'm exhausted. dh said yesterday, "you're always tired." i told him that he would be too if he had two babies brains, hearts and other organs begin made inside of him this very second! other than that he's been so sweet. i feel bad for him b/c we haven't had sex since i was stimming (sorry TMI).
me- 30 and normal
DH- 33, low sperm count

mjay- I live in Elgin now, been there for about 5 years and I work in Palatine. I used to live in Roscoe Village/North Center, just off of Addison and Western. I would love to live in the city again, but the commute (especially during Cubs games) got to be too much. It's funny that you recommended that book, I actually ordered it off of Amazon on Friday, so i'm expecting it any day now. I wanted to wait until I saw 2 heartbeats because I was worried that it would get delivered and I would find out that one didn't make it. I did take a peek inside of it last week and just program that they have in it seems very encouraging, especially since they say that you should have a healthier pregnancy/babies if you follow it. I just want to have two healthy babies that I can take home as soon as possible and i'll do anything I need to do to!

LuckyOne- I know exactly what you mean. I am super nervous about this pregnancy and will continue to be until I cross the 1st trimester threshold. I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks this past February and this was after my doctor told me at 8 weeks that my pregnancy was "textbook" and that I had a 95% chance of carrying to term. It ended up being a chromosomal abnormality, but I don't think I can ever not worry during this time.

kristyb- That's awesome that you get to see those numbers rise! GL at your u/s on Wednesday!

cheryl- Funny, I was supposed to go see U2 last Sunday at the same stadium the Bears play and DH ended up selling those tickets because of how tired I've been and the fact that I didn't want to make that walk and it was really late on a Sunday and it was supposed to be cold and rainy (ended up being nice and warm that night, but oh well).

gi- I too have major food diversions after getting sick (mostly dairy products). Some things don't taste too bad coming up the second time around (ha ha, TMI!), so i'm trying to stick to those foods. I can never decide what I want to eat until the last minute, so DH and I have been eating totally different meals and if we're at the table together, I have to put a barrier up so that I can't see his food because I always feel sick just looking at what he has!

Agreed-to tired to do much! I have tickets to a show at House of blues this Friday and am really hoping I can make it!

Phew, since my first u/s is so much later than most of you ladies, at least the Beta's keep me sane. They just called and said it's over 33,000 which is great and my progesterone is still staying above 120 so no need to draw that blood next week.

Also, the nurse said my crampiness is nothing to worry about. So much is going on in our bodies and could be also a result of my constipation (I know, TMI). She actually said although they haven't recommend I excercise a 15min walk after dinner tonight could help move things along. And she recommended an over the counter that is safe for me to take. I'm just hoping it's only that. Counting down 2 more days!!

kristyb- what otc did they recommend? I am so backed up that it's almost painful! I too am feeling a lot of crampiness and i'm pretty sure it's from constipation (sorry TMI!)

Faith- You work right down the street from me! How long have you been working in Schaumburg and making that commute? I remember when I took the Kennedy home from my previous job in Addison, sometimes it took me 30 minutes, and sometimes it took me over 2 hours! Mostly if the Cubs had a 7:05 game, I was in trouble. My brother in law and several of my friends live in Lakeview!

AFM- m/s is full force this morning. I hope it subsides today, but it doesn't seem to be easing up no matter what time of day or what I eat. I've tried ginger cookies, ginger ale, crackers, dry toast, just about anything that i've seen recommended.
