My First IVF!

Hi ladies..im starting my first Lupron injection tomorrow...and Im sooo nervous! I dont like needles at all! Is it really bad and painful or is it all in my head??

syanna,welcome to the land of IVF !!!! Lupron isn't to bad sub Q needle which only goes into your subcutaneous layer of skin. Not fun but you get used to taking needles. Just think one stick closer to having a baby. I have little gel packs that I would use sometimes if it continued to burn. I made hubby give them, I figured I got them he could give them!!! I've not had the best of luck with IVF I think I have a streak of bad luck.2 IVF cycles cancelled couldn't suppress me with Lupron @ all.Very rare my luck. Just found out 1st failed cycle yesterday I was doing Ganarelix instead of Lupron. Everything went well, didn't implant don't know why.So if you have any give a holla back!!! I'll be doing another cycles in a couple of months.Try, try again.........

Jenice - Im sorry to hear that. I guess the emotional pain is worst than the physically pain huh? Well see what happens in the morning with my first shot. Hope all is well for you. Why do you have to wait a couple of months to try again?

Syanna, I have to have a sit down with RE first to discuss more like guess as to what went wrong.They didn't give me an appt for 3 weeks isn't that nice of them.I haven't even got my P yet. Each cycle of in-vitro usually takes 2 months to complete.After egg retrieval I was sooooooo sore!!!!! I might give my body a little break.I might do a FET next time, I don't think it will work but @ least it won't be a full cycle. I started last August 2008. First cycle with follistim and intercourse which failed.Then IUI with injectables failed January/Feb. IVF in April/May cancelled then IVF center closed down I missed the window of time so I had to wait till August/Sept IVF just failed.I figure by the time I have sit down I probably won't do FET till November.I hope the IVF center doesn't close down again or I'll be waiting even longer.That has been my last year of my life, exciting huh? I do have a daughter she is 4 years old.I had 2 tubal pregnancies before her some endometriosis.A couple surgeries been doin infertility business 6-7 years. I did have 2 year break in between.Been TTC 2 years now.One fallopian and am 37 tears old.I figure the more I try I hope I'm getting closer to a new little one Good luck with the needles !!!!!

Syanna, I also had another cycle IVF cancelled June/July. It becomes a blur after awhile.

I start my first lupron injection on Friday... I hope yours are going well! Was the shot bad? I'm also not a fan of needles.

Jenice - hopes your next IVF goes well! I drink a large ice coffee every morning, should I really stop on the caffiene?

Jenn913 - my first shot was actually not that bad! It was like a mosquito bite, but I still panic a little just because Im a cry baby like that. Also cause my husband did it, I wouldnt be able to do it myself though.

Good to hear! I think I'll be doing my own shots, not sure if I want my husband to do them!

Syanna, not completely sure about caffeine. You should look it up on the net, but maybe cut down somewhat i thought I remember something about quality of eggs or something.Ask GHOST he could tell you more.
