Hi all, this message board IS busy! I only missed a couple of days and there is so much happenning. I am really happy for the ladies with great news and sorry if some of you did not get them this time. I am still trying to get my head around the board. Hence, no personals. Shelbyrn0214 you are so sweet asking about my appointment. Thank you. Basically RE ( I think this is how you call the doctor here) explained that they will give me prostap injection first. Then once the initial scan is all clear i will start my gonal-f injections. Has anyone done this protocol? Considering where I am in my cycle we are now looking starting all this in approx 1 month. They couldve given me that first injection yesterday actually but we freaked out :-) plus we have to deal with the insurance company first. Anyway, the RE felt we should wait for the next cycle anyway as we werent prepared mentally... I am travelling next week too so it all wouldve been too stressful... Most of you ladies are ahead of me in your cycles. But I am staying with you :-). This board is great.

Hi ladies!

2010 - It sounds like your RE has your best interests at heart. This whole process can be SO draining. Hopefully it will be a blessing to have some extra time to digest it all. Definitely stay with us!

shelby - YAY you are PUPO!!!! I bet your little embies were gorgeous!

statsgoddess- I hope that once you get to the office tomorrow your ET will go smoothly. How many are you planning on transferring? How many will your RE let you transfer?

Lisa - I think you can still do the FET without having had AF but I'm not positive. They may count your spotting as an AF.

kiwi - how ya feeling?

bei - how ya doing?

jenn - My RE gives some anesthesia with the ER. I remember him calling it twilight. It wasn't too bad. I was pretty groggy after but came out of it fairly quickly.

AFM, my second beta level is in.....397 11dp5dt!! Progesterone looks good too, it's over 21!

Hi all - just got the call an hour ago and none of our remaining embie's made it to be frozen :-(
hope that has no implication on the success for the two we transferred

Kiwi - . I'm sorry to hear about your potential frosties. But I think the ones that you transferred are much happier in their mommy than they would be in a dish and you are going to be carrying them for another 8 months! So don't fret about that. You are PUPO and I am praying for a + beta next week!

wolffie- i believe my re's office sends a letter &/or calls. so far we haven't been contacted in any way.

shelbyrn0214- thanks for your wonderful & organized list of all of us ladies & where we are at. that was really nice :)

so the beta is saturday & this wait is killing me
i'm not sure how i feel. i don't want to be negative, but i just don't "feel" pregnant. i know it would be too early, but shouldn't i have at least one symptom???

my sister-in-law went through ivf/icsi 6 six years ago & she now has triplet boys. she told me she felt cramping & she was very bloated. i'm a little bloated & felt very minor cramps throughout this wait, but nothing else.

i guess i don't want to get my hopes up & then have to deal with a negative outcome; although i guess i would have to if that's the case. don't get me wrong, i'm not mrs. negativity...i am being optimistic, just cautious i guess.

i also want to thank EVERYONE for your support. reading your stories is so inspirational

Hello!!

Katie, I'm right with ya. I'm definitely feeling bloated too. Last night, I felt very irritated at everything and anything. Poor DH was being so sweet, but I just wanted to be left alone. LOVE the hormones. My next SNS is on Friday.

I have family in for the next couple of days, so I may be sparse the next couple of days. I'm always praying for all of us though. :D

syanna - Good job on your first shot!!

shelby - That's a funny dream!!! I dreamt the other day that I went in for my transfer, and they kept wheeling me around to different rooms, and they couldn't decide which room I was suppose to go to. It was weird.

iamhopeful and jenn - Welcome aboard!!

jenn - I also have PCOS and never responded to the 6 months of trying Clomid. You just gotta love it. We were successful on our first IVF though. Here's hoping you will be too!! My RE uses GA for the ER, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It was great. You don't know you're going to sleep, then they next thing you know, you're waking up, and it's over.

statsgoddess - We did a 3 day transfer of 3 embies with our first IVF cycle and have a beautiful DD. I wouldn't know what to do with a 5 day transfer. :D GL with your transfer tomorrow!!

jaydentd - I started with 10 units of Lupron, then when we added the stimming drugs, our RE lowers it to 3 units.

wolffie - Congrats on your second beta!!!! :D

kiwi - I'm so sorry that your embies didn't make it to freezing. I know it's disappointing. :( We'll pray that the 2 you transferred are in for a nice long 9 month stay. :D

moorebaby - With our last IVF and pregnancy, I didn't feel a thing. Not a symptom or anything for months. If it wasn't for the ultrasounds, I would have never thought I was pregnant. Hang in there!!! Can't wait to hear your beta results on Saturday.
Me and DH - 37

I'm trying to read through some of the posts so that I can try and see who everyone is! :)

Wolfie- thanks for sharing your experience, my RE actually puts me all the way under. I wish it were more like twilight! Congrats on the 2nd beta!!

J&C- Yeah, clomid is a beast. I didn't want to even try it again. Glad to hear that the GA wasn't to horrible. I'm ready to get this cycle over (hopefully we'll be lucky like you were to be successful on the first round), it's hard when you don't know what to expect really.

Kiwi- I'm sorry that your embies didn't make it to freeze. I hope you get a + beta next week though!!!

Thanks again for letting me join y'all!

Wolffie and Malya I have not had the chance to congratulate you ladies! CONGRATS!!

Wolffie – I was a total wreck for my second beta. I think I was more nervous for that call than the first. I kept checking my phone like a crazy person. They called my by 10 for my 1st beta and they didn’t call me til 1 PM for the second. I don’t have to have a 3rd beta. I see that everyone else does. Hum…. Great 2nd beta #s!!!

prayin4BFP – YAY for starting stims!!

Iamhopeful – GL with this cycle. You’ve come to the right place. What will RE be doing different this cycle?

Statsgoddess – I had a 3 day transfer. They base their decision on how many eggs you have and how they fertilized. I only had 5 out of 8 eggs fertilize, BUT I transferred two and was able to freeze two. I’m now PG so don’t be deterred by the 3 or 5 day. 5 day just means some women have the luxury of possibly loosing a few eggs by day 5. They say you get a better selection, but who’s to say your best on day 3 aren’t the best?

jenn913 – Welcome and GL with your cycle! I went under for my ER but I’m not sure if he used GA. I think they called it twilight sleep or something. I know I came out of it a lot better and quicker. GA makes me really nauseous.

shelbyrn0214- You’re PUPO!!! Get lots of rest Hun! Hope you get those twins!!!

AFM, I’m just waiting….I go in for our first U/S on Oct 2. I can’t wait. I almost called the clinic today. The nurse has told me each time she spoke to me not the be surprised if I saw spotting. WELL, it finally happened. I thought I saw something yesterday morning but then noting all day. Then today I had very light spotting for most of the day and nothing tonight. I was also experiencing some cramping and of course I was freaking out. I’m feeling good now though. She said that the spotting is usually from the POI which I guess makes since if I see something in the morning and then nothing later in the day.

Good luck ladies and loads of PMA and baby dust to you all.

What a wild ride this IVF journey is!

jenn913 - My RE said I was going "totally under" for ER, but when I talked to the anethesologist (sp?) he kept calling it "twilight". All I know is that I don't remember anything after "you may feel a little pain in your arm..." until they were calling my name to try and wake me up. I don't know if that helps at all.

moorebaby - I have a long list of friends that were surprised to find out they were preggers. There were no signs for them until they were late. So PMA! PMA! This could be you, too.

kiwi - Hang in there. It only takes 1! You won't need frosties anyway because this will work for you.

shelbyrn0214 - sticky dust to you!

statsgoddess - Sticky dust to you, too. Before my ER my RE said if I had between 1-3 embie it was an automatic 3 day. 4+ depends on a mixture of quality and quantity. I know each clinic is different, but maybe that helps?

jaydentd - 10 units of Lupron seems to be the norm from everything I've seen, but this is my first IVF, too. I also had sharp little pains on my right side. RE found a tiny "functional" cyst on that side. RE said a lot of women have them and don't even know it. I guess they grown and shrink with every cycle, but it has probaby gone a little overboard with the extra meds. We left it alone and it's not been a problem.

AFM, I got a late call on Monday to trigger. I guess my RE had second thoughts about my E2 numbers, re-examined them, and decided it was going up too fast to wait until Tuesday to trigger. I had my ER yesterday. They got 17 eggs which is waaay more than the 11 we were talking about, but odd are those others are not be mature. I'm waiting for word on fert. I was in a lot of pain yesterday, so I called work to take today off, but I feel great today. Now I feel like I'm playing hooky. Gotta go make the most of my day off. Have a good day everyone!

Ok all so I got my second Beta back it is 243, not bad. But they took me off fthe PIO shot but I forgot to ask what the progesterone # was. I am still on Estrace and Progesterone(crinone)supositories. Anyone hear of getting off the shot so early? I'm not freaking out and waiting for my clinic to open so I can call and double check. I get my next beta on Friday. Still nerve racking. I've been cramping and that has made me crazy too. Advice anyone?

malya - they took me off my POI shots as well after my second beta. Apparently they wants your numbers in the 90-120 range at a minimum before they start weening you off. In my case I was well over 120 so they stopped the POI, but I did stay on the suppositories for one additional week when we tested again and the numbers still were staying over 120. Now I'm free of all progesterone and feeling so much better!!!

AFM- I've had cramping, but no spotting. And my first u/s yesterday showed one singleton with a strong heartbeat of 125! Phew! Still no spotting or morning sickness and the cramping has subsided. When we looked at my ovaries yesterday too, he said they were still enflammed from the stimulations thus the cramping but are looking better. I go back for a second u/s in two weeks. Keep all of your fingers crossed!

Good luck to all of you ladies just starting stims and moving on to the 2ww. I'm here for you if you need me!
