beta advice

Post by moorebaby »

so here's my story. i did my 1st ivf/icsi this month. 25 eggs were retrieved on 9.12, 20 were mature, only 4 fertilized. i had a 3dt of 2 8-cell embryos. i got a bfp on 9.26 with a beta # of 116. yesterday's 2nd beta # was 196, about a 70% increase. i'm going tomorrow for a 3rd beta. my re normally does 2 betas & then schedules you for an u/s so i must be on the low end of my beta rising because why else would he have me come back for another beta? the nurse said i'm within "extremely normal" range. does anyone have a similar story? beta #s not necessarily doubling. but not increasing super slow either? we also did not have any viable embryos to freeze so i hope this really is working. please help!

Hi there,
My BETA didn't double either...but it finally did and more on the third time. Mine also went up about 70%. Most likely you'll be fine!!!! Take a look at my BETA numbers in my signature below.
Good luck!!

moorebaby- my clinic mentioned that they look for a 60% increase, not necessarily doubling. Also, they might have scheduled you for a third beta because typically an u/s does not pick up a baby until your numbers are around 1500 (according to my clinic anyway). I know it must be nerve-wracking for you to have to wait, but I'm sure it will be fine. Try not to worry and stress too much!
