For almost 3 years now my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant and have not been successful! I have one blocked fallopian tube and what they think is PCOS as well! I do have a period about every 34-37 days now but was not regular for years! I have tried Clomid for a few rounds but did not work and got discouraged so i quit taking it. I need some better answers, can i get pregnant and what is it going to take??
I know how you feel....I have been trying ttc for five years but have never really tried as much as I am now. I too have PCOS. I don't have blocked tubes that I am aware of, but I have heard of people getting pregnant after getting the tubes cleared. I have also tried clomid but I went to a new doctor who is going to try something that I have never tried before and it helps people who specifically have PCOS! It's called Letrozole or (FEMARA). If you look it up it will say it is for breast cancer patients because these patients need to lower their estrogen levels. Those with PCOS also have high estrogen levels which is a factor that prevents ovulation hence needing to lower estrogen levels to induce ovulation. I haven't gotten to try it out yet but I am very excited as clomid did not work for me. I will let you know how it turns out! I hope this helps and good luck! Its so good to talk to someone who is where I'm at..... feeling frustrated and wondering if I will ever get pregnant.
Thank you so much camommy! Yes it is good to hear from people who are going through the same thing and can relate! Friends who have children just don't understand how difficult it is to vent and talk about my problems! I will have to check into that for my PCOS! I am going to a new doctor soon and am hopeful he can help me! I am looking into getting my tube unblocked as well if it can be done! I hated clomid and I know that isn't even the strongest fertility meds to be on! I know there has been folks out there trying a lot longer than us but it seems like an eternity right now to us! We are actually looking to Foster/Adopt but will never not want to try all we can to have our own biological child, i pray all of the time, please God at least one!! Of course as you and most out there know in our positions it is so expensive to go through fertility treatments, and for us there is not much we can even afford right now! But thanks a bunch i look forward in hearing how that Letrozole works for you!
