Hi haley
Sorry to hear of your lost...................I also lost one of my twins at about 7 1/2 weeks, although we did not know that we were having twins then we thought that we had a miscarriage on the Saturday, then on the Monday they scaned me to make sure everything was gone and there was anaother sac, and even then I thought we had lost them both!!!! :( :(
The news did not sink in....!!! after having had 3 bottles of wine to drown my sorrows and 2o cigis.....tut tut
Please do not give up hope as I have gone on with this one and I am now at 32 weeks today and waiting, the rest of this pregnancy has been fine, if not without any worry I would be lying, I also opted for a Nucal fold scan done at 12 weeks just to make sure everything was ok, and thankfully it was.
Keeping everything crossed for you and try and stay positive.

Love
Wibbs

I am truly sorry - of course it is mixed emotions - it is dreadful to lose a baby at any stage as many of us unfortunately know. I have several friends that have lost a twin at this stage and later. They have without exception all gone on to have a healthy baby and some are still pg but like Wibbs passed the 28 week mark now.

Fingers crossed and it is natural to mourn the one you lost. Try to look after yourself.

Sorry to hear your news Hayley. It's very sad that you've lost one of the twins, but very good news that the other is fine - it must be difficult to have to deal with the mixed emotions.

You take care of yourself more than ever now. Good luck for the next scan...

hayley, i'm sorry to hear about one of your babies, it's so sad and must have been such a shock.

i am really happy for you that your other baby is doing well. everyday that passes the risk to our babies becomes less and at 12 weeks the risk decreases significantly. take care of yourself and little one. look forward to hearing about your next scan.

Dear Hayley

So sorry to hear your news. But if it helps at all, I too also had this and my bubs is due in two days time. At 7 weeks there were two sacs, one slightly smaller and at 9 weeks the little one had just disappeared.

The day before, another girl Susi from this site, had the very same thing happen to her so it was strange I was almost ready for the news and just so relieved to see the other one looking OK. For me, that's how I dealt with it, just focussing on the little one there and praying everything would be all right. I too had a nuchal scan at 13 weeks which when it showed I was at low risk really helped to make me think a bit more positively.

The consultant said that this situation is much more common than people realise, but 'normal' people don't have the scans as early as us IVFers, so it isn't detected a lot of the time.

So keep positive, take it easy and I'm sure everything is going to be fine.

Hi Hayley

That's really spooky! I have to say I haven't come across many others since being on this site, who have had this same problem with the sperm fertilizing the eggs. That first time, I gave half my eggs away (11) as part of egg share and it was a bit of a shock when the embryologist told us that the other couple's sperm fertilized 10/11 of my eggs OK.... So good in one respect it wasn't my eggs, but as you can imagine, very difficult to get your head around, when you know someone else was steaming ahead with embryos and we weren't going anywhere!

I haven't been able to find out much about this 'sperm functionality' problem, they really don't seem to know too much about it still. Like you, my DH's sperm was, quote, 'really encouraging', but as I also have mild PCO I think everyone assumed it was something to do with me. (Before we tried the FET, DH had a chromosone test done, which came back normal).

And re. the bleeding, I didn't have any - and generally, thank god, my pregnancy has been totally straight forward with no complications, not even morning sickness (which probably means I'll have the birth from hell now!)

You're doing really well, almost there with the 12 week scan so I really look forward to hearing all is well.

Glad that you are feeling more positive now and concentrating on your ongoing pregnancy. It is sad that you lost one of them but he/she will be a guardian angel for the one who is still here!

I havent had my first scan yet so I dont know if I am carrying twins or not but Zoe metioned to me that my HCG reading of 350 might suggest that so I'll have to wait and see. I dont want to get my hopes up though just in case.

Take Care
