Sub. hematoma

Post by brit1612 »

I having been following the board for a couple of years and I used to post a lot. I have only been reading lately but I would like some input. I am 15 weeks pregnant, and I got a call from my doc saying that she reviewed the ultrasound pics from my NT scan. On them she saw a sub. hematoma. I didn't realize I should ask her how big it was at the time. I am not bleeding at all, and have only had a couple different times where I had brown spotting. This spotting was very early on and I have not had anything since. The doc said she usually would not worry about this except for the fact that we have had three early miscarraiges and we are on lovenox (a blood thinner). She is sending me to a high risk doctor to take a look at it. Any info or stories would be great. I don't know if it is a good thing that I am not bleeding or if it does not make a difference. Any insite would help! Thank you ahead of time.

Thanks for the encouragment! It is great to hear good outcomes. I went to the high risk doc and the hematoma is very large, and they are really concerned about it. They took me off of the blood thinner, so I am praying that will help. She would not give me an opinion on what she thought the outcome would be. The baby was looking great, and was even measuring ahead. I was very encouraged by that, but I don't know what to think or expect. Do you remember how large yours was, or when you were diagnosed with them? Thanks again!

Hey,

I just wanted to say that I had a large SCH as well and I am currently 21 wks pregnant with twins. Mine originally measured over 6cm at 10wks which is considered large. The bleed slowly resorbed and right now there is no evidence of it on U/S. I still worry every single day and I pray that I carry these babies to term. I wish you lots of luck and hopefully the SCH will decrease in size.
