I just received the results back from my AMH test and it came back very low at .5!
I actually had to ask my clinic to give me the test after getting a BFN with my first IVF cycle.
I am 39 years old and my FHS level is normal at 4.7. My first IVF was the long lupron protocol. They retrieved 5 eggs, 4 fertilized with ICSI. They transfered (2) 4 cell, grade 1 embryos and (1) 2 cell, grade 1 embryo.
I am scheduled to start an estrogen priming protocol this month. Now I am wondering if I should continue on with IVF or consider moving to donor eggs?
Has anyone had success with IVF with a low AMH level? Also, does anyone have any thoughts on AMH testing? I am curious as to why my Dr. didn't order an AMH test for me prior to my first round of IVF?
Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to everyone!!
Mine was .6 and my baby is 8 weeks old last Sunday. It only tells you how many eggs you might get. I only think quality is known when you do a round and see how the eggs look...at least one round and at a good clinic. I only made 3 to 5 eggs so the AMH was accurate for me in that I had few eggs, but about 1/5 of those was good. I got pregnant with 3 eggs over 4 IVFs.... Of those 2 were totally normal. So if you make 5 eggs and 1 is good then you are fine. I hate these tests ... my FSH was 12, so you are better than me in that regard and it still worked for me.

First off, congratulations on the birth of your baby!! Did you have a boy or girl?
Second, thank you so much for your response!! I never imagined how stressful this process would be. It's a good feeling to know that I am not alone in this.
What protocol were you on this last time, if you don't mind my asking?
I am scheduled to start an Estrogen Priming protocl for my next cycle.
