so i haven't been on here in FOREVER!!!

my bfp was not so positive :(

the past couple of weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster. i got a bfp on 9.26 with a beta of 116. the 2nd beta 2 days later went up 70% to 190. they wanted me to come back 2 days after that since i didn't double, but my increase was still in the normal range. well that's when it all went downhill. my 3rd beta went up only by 33% to 268. they asked me to come back 4 days later for a 4th beta. this was monday. i did the blood draw that afternoon & the re did an ultrasound. there was nothing there. he is thinking it's either a chemical pregnancy with a miscarriage to come or an ectopic. i hope it's not an ectopic since due to the medicine i'd need to stop the ectopic pregnancy i wouldn't be able to start a new ivf/icsi cycle for 2 months. we want to move on & start as soon as possible. if i have a miscarriahe we could start right away. since this was my 1st ivf/icsi & i got a bfp originally i was so excited....now i'm a melting pot of emotions....
so i got a call yesterday & was told my # from monday did go up to 345. this possibly means an ectopic pregnancy. i was told to come back today. so i took a sick day from school. i went in for MORE bloodwork today & going back at 1pm for an ultrasound & a possible injection of methotrexate to stop the ectopic pregnancy if that's what the re believes it to be. i hope the injection works, as i've read that sometimes women require 2 or 3 shots. surgery would be the last resort.
the worst part of it all we can't start a new cycle for 2 months minimum since the medication stays in the body for a few months. the good thing is i have phenomenal insurance through my school district so i have no max.

i have to have the outlook that everything happens for a reason & stay positive so the outcome of my next ivf treatment isn't negatively affected.

good luck to everyone!!! i know there are new ladies on here & just so you know i have been reading all of your stories & i wish you all nothing but the best. i will definitely pop back in here & hopefully soon start writing about my next ivf cycle.

(((((((((((((((((((((teachermom)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) oh hun i am sooo sorry!! :( man that happened fast! i thought they were stimming you slow...how is there a dominant follie already? i'm glad you'll be able to start again ASAP. i'll be here for you!!

((((((((((((((((((((((((moorebaby))))))))))))))))))) emotional rollercoaster is right!! my friend got pregnant naturally and she didnt know she was having an ectopic until she was rushed to the hospital last christmas in pain. they had to do emergency surgery right then and she lost her tube. i'm telling you this because even though this is horrible news i am glad that if it is an ectopic you will be taken care of right away, and everything will be ok. i know nothing i say can help take the pain away, but i am so proud of you for looking forward. please stay around and keep us posted!

Hey everyone;
Well the other 2 embies arent growing so we are looking at 6 to do PGD on. I am on the fence though since last time we had 5 and we did another cycle to get more to do PGD on all of them and then after thawing most stopped growing and we had to start from scratch again. I am afraid to freeze again. It was so heart wrentching hearing how they just stopped growing after the thaw. :( I dont know what to do.

CT Michelle; I am thinking of you today.

teachermom: hugs to you poor thing. I am so sorry.

moorebaby; goodness you poor thing. I am praying for you.

SHelby! I am so jealous...I cant wait til I too can not be able to button my pants...although with the OHSS I cant now...LOL...

Michaelajt: Congrats to you!

I'm back from the transfer. We transfered 2 grade "A" embies and froze 2 embies. We're waiting to hear on 2 others that we hope make it to freeze, and we have 1 frostie from our first transfer. Our "B" embie probably isn't going to make it to freeze.

Oh, and get this. We're waiting in the waiting room, and a girl that I play in a handbell choir with every week walks in with her husband. This is her 1st IVF cycle. They just finished her transfer (I was waiting to be called back to do mine), and we have been on the same schedule this whole time. Couldn't believe it!!! I wish I had known she was going through this, so we could have talked about it. She said - this is my first time. She knows our DD, and I said, DD is from our first cycle. This is our second. It was such fun!!!

I'm off to lay down and incubate!! :D

shelby - Whew-hew to m/s. Bring it on, I say.

kala - GL with ER tomorrow!!

teachermom - I am so sorry for another cancelled cycle.

moorebaby - What an emotional rollercoaster. I am so sorry. I hope they figure out exactly what happened, so they can tx you as needed. (((HUGS)))

Sangria - Wow, I'm so sorry. It's so hard when the test is negative. What is your next plan?
Me and DH - 37
TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube
IVF #1 w/ICSI...DD born Oct. '08
IVF #2 w/ICSI...BFN
IVF #3 - FET....ectopic pregnancy

OMG girls, I don;t know what to think! They just called and hcg went up to 13! It was 5 on monday. Even though it went up the clinic recommended I discontinue progesterone. I couldn't believe they said that. I know it is still unlikely this will turn into a viable normal pregnancy, but I will never know unless I try. I guess the clinic is concerned about an abnormal or ectopic pregnancy. I am on my way to the clinic now to pick up more progesterone, even though they are recommending against it. They said I can continue if I want and they will repeat on blood on Monday. Even though I know the outcome, I just can't give up yet, what would you guys do? Even though my clinic says they have never seen a number like 5 work out, I told them that doesn't mean it isn't possible and I would like to try.

Sangria.. I am so sorry. It's just such an awful feeling. I know all too well. I hope you can keep trying... I just know your time will come.

Moorebaby... Oh, I don't even know what to say. I had an ectopic pregnancy years ago and one shot was NOT enough. It ruptured and I lost my tube because of it. Please be careful and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

AFM .. I start my meds on the 28th. Here we go again.

All the best ... and congrats to all the BFP. :)

Michelle - My heart is aching for you.

If I were in your shoes, I would rather continue meds and let it take it's course, than to discontinue meds and always wonder "what if"

Ella was late with a fresh cycle. Maybe your frosties are even slower.

What ever you decide we are here for you and praying for you.
