FERTILITY REPORT

Well, I just got my fertility report and out of the 3 that fertilized we have 2 embryos left. The embryologist said that they are both a grade 4 which is the highest they rate them at my clinic!!!!

They are going to do a 5 day transfer if any survive until then!!! This is the first blastocyst transfer I have ever had. My other 3 were 3 day transfers!!! I am so excited but still scared that they won't make it. What do you think my chances are?

You should have decent chances.

I'm curious why so few in a PCO patient? They usually produce more than enough eggs and embryos.

I have poor egg quality for some reason. I am not sure why!!! Thanks for the positive outlook!!!

I know that 9 of them were immature so they really only had 6 to work with and out of those only 3 fertilized.

The high grade would suggest that, but the dynamics can change after day 3, when the embryonic DNA kicks in.

This makes me wonder if you really have a major egg quality problem.

Could you describe your protocol? How much meds, and for how long? How were you triggered? Did they stop or reduce your meds on the day of trigger, or before that?

Well, this cycle I started off with BCP for about 10 days and then Lupron for 15 days. Then I started 150 of Repronex and 5 of Lupron in the morning and 300 of Follistim in the evening for 9 days. On the 9th day I did take my Repronex and Lupron in the morning and then triggered with Ovidrel that evening but no Follistim. At that point I was done with stimulation shots. I hope that this is the time for us. I am praying that my little embryos keep growing and growing.

Do you know your follicle sizes?

My follicle sizes on day 9 (the day I took the Ovidrel shot)were:

On the Right Ovary: 23,19,17,15,13,12,10,8

On the Left Ovary: (2)20's, (4)17's, 16, (2)14's, 13

My estrogen was 1556

Could it have anything to do with them upping my Follistim from 150(last cycle) to 300 (this cycle). Maybe my body didn't take well to all the medicine????

Looks like they could have stimmed you more aggressively. My clinic would have. That explains the increased dose for your next cycle.

I think you might have misunderstood me. The 300 of Follistim was from this cycle. I am not doing any other cycles...this is my last one because my insurance will not cover any more and I can't afford it out of my own pocket.

Yes, I think I did get confused.

So the follicle sizes and estradiol level you mentioned were from the cycle with the higher dose of follistim (300)?
