My 2nd official beta is on the 14th the the 21st and u/s on the 23rd
last night I was working an ambulance shift ( transporting critical patients between hospitals) and was told to pick up a " septic patient infection unknown source"
All good... usually means infected kidney or gall bladder, so off we trot
I get to the emergency dept and the nurse informs " patient is in there.. go see her.. you are early so we are not ready yet"
thats ok... gives me time to examine and do paperwork.
I go in to the cubicle.. there are no signs or protective clothing or anything and see a very unwell looking young woman... another nurse comes in... no precautions.. and we discuss monitoring equipment..
and the nurse in charge comes to discuss my request for a particular monitor... still no info on patient
Her husband comes in as I am starting to examine her... I notice she has a bright red rash all over her... I ask her husband if she has had an allergic reaction cos it looked like a penicillin rash... only to be told... " no.. the doctor thinks its MEASLES!!"
I shot out of the cubicle over to the nurse in charge... " is it true " I say
she says " yes... so what"
I am pregnant I scream... where are the masks and gowns and why didnt you tell me
She says... " oh dont stress... it probably is something else"
I refused to take the patient.. stormed out and am now reporting the hospital to health dept
I was suprised indeed! He said the next 24 hours is crucial and if they end up being of excellent quality then he wants to freeze them instead of doing a fresh transfer b/c he thinks my progesterone level will compromise the endometrium environment for the embies. He said you don't want to blow great embies on a less than ideal environment. Tomorrow I have to go for ultrasound for be checked for OHSS. My bloating is worse and stomach/ribs are sore for no reason. My "retrieval area" isn't hardly sore anymore...so the nurse wants me to get checked out. No harm in checking I suppose!
