Ghost Need Your Advice

Post by washingtonda »

Had my consult with RE this morning to talk about possibly trying for #2. I am now 40 and DH is 47. We got pregnant and had DD on firth try at age 38 and 45. Since we got pregnant, we never asked questions about eggs and their quality until this morning since we had none left to freeze.

We had 19 eggs, 14 fertilized and we did a "6" day blast with the best 2 and we got pregnant. This morning he told us that they two that were transferred were a 2ab and a 2ba. What are your thoughts. Yes we did get pregnant with one of these but are these considered good quality.

Also we wanted to wait until around May to start and he advised that he thought we would be great candidates but due to age, he advised we shouldn't wait. The only reason we were waiting was because if we did get pregnant than DD would be around 3 when the new baby arrived.

Lastly this would be C-section #5 (I have 3 adult children from 1st marriage) he talked about those possible risk. Do you think a 5th section would get dangerous. My last pregnancy went extremely well with no complications and my OB took a little longer getting in because of scare tissue but not too much longer than prior deliveries.

Please give me your thoughts.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

I know embryo quality fairly well, but unfortunately there are many grading systems. That one sounds like Gardner's system or close to it. If so, then it sounds like you had pretty average embryos in terms of morphology. But you'll need to ask your clinic to be sure.

As for the c-section, I've never studied that.

Sorry I could not be more help.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
