I'VE HAD MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a baby girl 5 week early on 26th March - she weighed 5lb 13and half ounce. Her name is Phoebe Jessie and she is bloody gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
The story is that my waters went on 20th march and I ended up in Dewsbury hospital - they said I would be there until I gave birth. On the 25th I started to go in to labour and they had no special care beds so I was moved to Bradford Royal. The consultant at Dewsbury said I had to have a c-section, which sent me hysterical, but when I got to Bradford he said I could try for a normal birth. I had to be put on Syntocin (is that spelt right??) - to get my labour going quicker as the baby had to be born asap. The babies heartbeat was constantly monitored and when it came to the big push at the end I had to do loads of little pushes (which hurt like hell, but was worth it) as the baby was getting a bit distressed and the heartbeat was too fast. I got through it with a bit of gas and air and Phoebe was born at 05.48. Phoebe had to have her blood sugar checked every 4 hours (heel prick which wasnt nice) as I had gestational diabetes and she has jaundice (she was under the uv light and also had a biliblanket on) - shes still a bit jaundiced now but not too bad. We were discharged 1st April.
Its taken me til now to be able to get to a computer - my lap top is bust and I have to climb in to our loft to use my husbands.
Phoebe is the best easter present I could ever have.
luv from new mum

Congratulations, that's fantastic news Bertie - 5 weeks early and hey, just a bit of gas and air to get you through the hard bit - very impressive! (Hope I can do that!)

All the very best for the future.
