So I'm done crying for the moment enough to do a few personals. I am feeling better, just bummed. Thank you to everyone for the kind words!!!

katie - I'm crying right along with ya. It's very disappointing, and we probably won't do our FET until April. I understand the waiting. (((HUGS)))

kala - SOOOOOOOooooooooo glad you're coming home soon. I can't even imagine having someone help me who didn't speak English. I would feel like a prisoner too. Hang in there!!! Can't wait to follow the POAS marathon. :D

karling - Very excited about your +HPT!!!

malya - I am so, so sorry. I've never been through a m/c, so I can't imagine the pain. I'm thinking about you.

sancap - You are cracking me up!!!

sangria - Thanks!!! I appreciate your encouraging words.

Michelle - That about how my sister described her m/c. I'm so sorry.

rayofsunshine - Holy cow!!! I had no idea that an egg donoation was that expensive. Wow. GL with whatever you decide to do.

michelle- EXACTLY what happened to me, minus the hubby part. my re gave me percocet. i started bleeding on sunday night during my dad's b-day dinner...fun, fun. i had no school on monday since it was columbus day. i did bloodwork & asked to speak with a nurse. i told her i started bleeding & that i was in a lot of pain. she went & spoke with my re, who wanted to see me & do an u/s. he gave me a prescription for percocet...thank god because i have a super high tolerance to pain medications...nothing works for me. my mind is extremely overpowering when it comes to physical pain. they called me later that afternoon to tell me my hcg level is 21. so it's dropped significantly. i've been bleeding all week. embarrasing story...on tuesday morning i ended up bleeding through my pants & had to leave to get a new pair...how embarassing...thank god none of the students saw this. we will start the process all over again in january. my clinic closes for the month of december since they're open every day, including all holidays & weekends, the rest of the year. none of our embbies were able to freeze so it'll be back to stim meds...fun, fun!

rayofsunshine-- I know that egg donor cycles are really expensive, but so is adoption. Have you considered embryo donation? Average cost is about 5,000 and youu still get to be pregnant and give birth to the child! There are so many pros to this choice. If your clinic does not offer it, there are places that you can get the embryos from and have them implanted. I just thought I would throw that out there! No one would even have to know that you chose to do that, that baby would be from you! I think its a great alternative. Just an opinion!

Neffi-Funny you mention that-so my BIL and SIL went through IVF and have frozen embies...my SIL just had a hysterectomy (sp?) and offered us their frozen embies. We are trying to process this and decide if it would be a good decision. How complicated...it would be our baby but our biological niece/nephew. What do you think? I really don't know how I feel about all of this!?!

CT - I am so sorry to hear your news. You know you are always in my prayers. I know this stuff is costly but don't give up on your dreams. I'm ready to start this ride again. I'm doing prescreening test right now and am waiting for AF so I can get my FSH blood and HSG test taken. Than it's the process. My consult went good on the 13th and RE had alot of hope for DH and I. Talking about putting 3 in this time since I am now 40. Will keep you posted.

Katie99 - I am so sorry. I was so praying for your positive beta. I'm ready to start as soon as AF show and I complete all these screening test. Maybe Nov/Dec but my clinic closes the last two weeks in Dec so I may be a Dec/Jan. Will keep you posted. Maybe we will be 2WW buddies. I was given my prenatal vitamins to start taking so the processing is starting. I will officially join one of these threads when I have my IVF calendar.

To all of you other wonderful ladies. Congrats and Good luck!!! This IVF stuff is surely a roller coaster ride but it does and can work. Don't give up.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

washingtonda-Good luck with this cycle! Im praying for you!

AFM- I poas'd this morning... and I saw a very very very very very VERY faint line! The only way you can see it is if you turn the test a certain way in the light. DH is still asleep, so i havent told him. I wanted to find more info and actually came across a POAS website...lol. it is www.peeonastick.com. I dont want to get my hopes up, but you never know. Tomorrow by this time Ill be on my way home :) Thanks everyone for being so envouraging!

Hi all-

I hope it's not too late to join this thread - I'm scheduled for an FET on 10/30, and wasn't sure which thread I should join.

Michele - you might remember me from the July/Aug board, and I had a chemical that cycle - beta started at 29, went up to 45 and then stopped. I went off the progesterone and got my period a few days later. For me, it was pretty much a normal period. Anyway, I'm so sorry - I've been following the boards without posting, and am heartbroken for you.

AFM, after my last cycle, my RE did the whole mc workup, and found nothing wrong. He seems baffled by my case - both cycles have been textbook perfect, top-graded embryos, good lining and easy transfer. So, we're hoping that maybe I'm just one of those women who does better with an FET. He's also added baby aspirin and a folic acid supplement. I've got 3 3-day embryos to use this time, and another 3 blasts frozen if we need them for another cycle.

THATS iT FOR ME

Post by mili27 »

Well i got my results already. My beta number for friday was only 14. It went from 9 to 14. It didnt even double. Also today i started spoting light red blood. Im guesing its over now. RE wanted to check on Monday my beta number just in case. I just want it to be over so i can schedule a consult as soon as possible and start a new cycle right away. I would really like to have one finished by the end of this year. I want to start fresh with stim injections. I want a new batch of embies and hopefully this cycle would be different and i would have a better quality outcome. I do however have one embie frozen. My chances are not so good with just one embryo going through the defrost and one embryo transfer.

I wish good luck to all you ladies that are in the 2ww. I know it can be hard but forums like this are what really helps. Its nice knowing that your not alone and that there are others who are going through the same thing.

Mili- I am sorry to hear your numbers, and I know how you feel just wanting it to be done with. I felt the same way, it was so hard to get my hopes up only to be devastated in the end. The number did increase by the minimum of 60% so it is smart your RE is checking monday anyway, but I am sorry to hear about the spotting. Hang in there and pm me if you need to talk.

Beth- of course I remember you, and I am glad to hear you are going again. I will be rooting you on.

Kala- That sounds like good news for you...congrats!

Washintonda- Thanks hon, I know you were one of my biggest supporters and have been following me. I know if I ever need a place to stay for treatment in MD, I will be looking you up, and I will have everything crossed for your upcoming cycle too.

rayofsunshine-- wow! I dont know if I could persoanlly have a family memebers baby, but that is just me?? I think that that is a very generous offer! You would still spend $ on the transfer.....I don't know, that would have to be a personal decision. I would wonder thing s like down the road are they going to question the parenting style of "THEIR" kid? So many things could come up.....good luck your decision, it will be a tough one. But if you decide against it then you could still get annonmous embryos and it wouldnt be any different in price.

Michelle, so sorry to hear. Somehow i know that you are a very strong woman and wish you good luck for the next one when you are ready. My sister in law last week had a mc and had to go through d&c in the end... All the ladies with BFN, I am so sorry...

Beth- Welcome, it is never to late to join. I had a FET today, and my beta is the 30th.

Katie- Sorry about the BFN.

Ray- I personaly think the BIL emibes is a little too complicated. I think it is very generous, but how do you explain that in the future? It seems like it may become complicated. Adopting a newborn can be expensive. However, at least in Illinois, you can adopt a child 2 or over or a special needs infant for free through the state. It might be something to consider. Call you state' DCFS and get some info. Special needs doesn't have to be a big issue, it could even mean "at risk". But this is just my 2 cents.

Michelle- My period after my chemical was the worst I ever had too. I think that the clot was just a clot however, because the RE said the embryo would be almost microscopic at the time. Your lining is very think for the pregnancy, so you will have clots. I hope that helps you feel a little better. But I know how hard this time is. My DH had to go out of town the day my bleeding started. It was so hard not having him here for support. And when he could call, he usually was never alone so we really couldn't discuss anything. I was taking care of the kids on my own too, so I had to be brave around them and not let on that anything was wrong. As soon as my DH came home, I just started bawling. Don't regret calling DH to come home. It is important to have support at this time. I love the book idea you have. You go girl! I am waiting for my happy ending on the 30th, then I'll share my story.

AFM....Had my ET transfer today. Frostie thawed well! I love my clinic! They are so nice. My RE came in and talked before and after gave me a hug and wished me good luck. All the nurses and embrtologists are so nice and friendly also. Wolffie, if you are still around here, I got my triple strip also!!! I had to ask what that ment, but I had it. They say everything looks great, but like DH and I joked on the way home, they can't really say it looks bad! I have this little cough today and I am trying so hard not to cough. I am trying to rest my abs. My DH is livid when I cough. When I talk on the phone, which I have so much today, my throat dries and I get that tickle so that has been hard to do. DH is helping his mom today and the kids are at my mom's, so it has been great laying around all day alone! I even napped for like 2 hours for the first time in years. Does everyone take Valium before your ET? I don't really drink and I have never taken a mind altering drug before so I felt like I was plowed at my appointment. But I was relaxed.
