ok, I thought I was losing my mind. But I might not be. I was laughing and telling my co-workers that I could swear I can hear a clicking or like- nuckle popping noise every great once in awhile when the baby is moving.... so one of them 'googled' it. LO and behold, I am not the only one!!!
Does anyone else hear this too? If you do, what is it?!?! I have an OB appt Thursday and plan on asking the doc then what it could be.... it is driving me crazy! I just don't want the baby to have any kind of joint problems, or who knows what else....
Hey nicole,
my friend just delivered a healthy baby boy last week and she had the same thing. She said she could hear a cracking noise when he moved. The doctor told her it was the baby's ligaments and that the only way to know if it were ok were after delivery. I guess time will tell if he does have a problem with his joints. The worries never end! How have you been otherwise? I haven't been on the site in the while, would love to hear how you are doing other than this issue! I am sure the baby is just fine my daughter had loose ligaments when she was little and seems to be just fine (except the popping noise when she moves a certain way, but no pain).

Hey girl! I'm doing ok- dealing with the usual pains and all, but happy to be pregnant. That makes total sense- my first had hip issues, just that they would make popping noises, but it never seemed to phase him and corrected itself as he grew. I am still able to kinda pop mine in and out of place!
YES, I am getting those noises, too! Of course, I had an appointment yesterday and didn't ask about them. I mostly was hearing it when he would violently kick my side or ribs. I have a creaky leg that tends to pop, and come to think of it that is a similar sound - yet there is no way I would have thought that's what it was on my own! I haven't heard it as much the last few days, but if it keeps up I will have to remember to ask the nurse next week. Good to know I'm not the only one, my mother and sister looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them about it.

Thought I would check back in to say that the source of my mysterious popping sounds has been discovered. One of the joints in Sean's right leg pops periodically if he kicks really hard. I don't think it's anything serious, just good to know there is something tangible that I was actually hearing all that time when he was kicking my ribs!

Yup, I figured it was the same thing for my little one- my 7 year old had problems with his hips popping after he was born, but has outgrown it. My mother-in-law also told me she heard it when she was carrying my husband and his siblings too! Chalk it up to genetics!
