U/S

Post by barken »

DillyGirl,
I agree with everyone, you should be able to have an 3rd Beta Fri. or Sat. On our 1st cycle the numbers did not double so they had another 2 days latter. However, our numbers that time were a lot lower. I can not imaging them making you wait, it is bad enough waiting two days between beta 1 and beta 2.

Hope other U/S go well today! I just got home from ours, We had 2 nice size embro sacks. :D ! One of the embro's even had a heart beat. We have to go back on Monday to see if the second one gets a beat. We are just excited to at least have 1 :D . When talking to the carrier today, she said she too has been very tired. She has had 2 girls a few years ago and does not remember being this tired.

dilly- I had 3 betas...one at 10 dpt, one at 12dpt, then waited 6 days for my 3rd at 18dpt. I liked having it that way because now I only have to wait 1 week after my last beta for my u/s. It sort of breaks up the wait and you don't have to wait 2 weeks before getting another update. As long as your numbers are adequate, which it sounds like they are, I wouldn't worry and just wait the 6 days. On the otherhand if you are really worried about the numbers, I could see how you'd want another test sooner. GL with your decision.

stats- Oh yea! U/S tomorrow you lucky dog! I have mine on Wednesday the 28th...6 days and counting. Just been exhausted like every other day and winded when I exert myself and I am a pretty fit person. I get lightheaded if I stand up too fast and I've had headaches (the last one lasted for 2 days...errgh). Today I feel great!

shelby- Glad you are feeling better and I hope it continues!

barken- yay! Can't wait to hear you u/s results too!!!!!! How exciting, I'm sooo jealous!

melanie_100- Hope you got a good nights rest. Can't wait to hear from you today!!!

Did our u/s today and it went really well. We have two sacs
................................................................. TWINS

I'm still in complete shock. I can't believe it because I don't feel different than when I was pregnant with my son. I am more tired, but that was over 7 years ago also.
We saw two sacs and two distinct fetal poles. I need to make sure and not get too excited though before seeing the heartbeats, but I think in the end there is a good chance we'll have at least one healthy baby, hopefully two. We ideally wanted a singleton, but will take what God thinks we can handle.
Like I said, still in shock

Barken-Congrats on your u/s results! Your extra little bean may just be shy and hiding from the u/s. Did it have a fetal pole? I have found that the U/S machines in most doctor's offices aren't that great and not very good at picking up detail.

We all have so much to look forward to as far as lab tests and ultrasounds.
BTW- I now strongly believe that there are more twins and maybe even triplets yet to come :D
Take care, Melanie

Sancap - I've been lightheaded when I stand up too fast and have been having headaches as well. The headaches just kicked in the past couple of days but are getting annoying.

Thanks guys! I changed my next appt to next Friday (was for Thurs) b/c it was more convenient for hubby to come at noon during his lunch break, and doctor said the longer we wait the more we'll see. DH couldn't make it to U/S today...so I handed him the ultrasound photo to break the news. He knew right away it was twins and just said....OMG
I got the U/S and me telling him all on video. RE even gave me two copies each of Baby A, Baby B, and them together with TWINS written on top.
Sorry it took me a minute to tell you guys. I needed to tell DH first and he didn't come home for lunch until after 12:30. Then we talked about it for a while...we are both in just complete shock. We've had two failed previous IVF's and nothing took, now they both take....What!

BTW-Doc said H/A are real common and mostly tiredness. M/S, boobs sore, etc. The lightheaded standing thing is common. I am having that too. Especially if my blood sugar is low and I need to eat. Also he said some of the cramping and pressure feeling is from the uterus expanding and stretching. He wasn't concerned.
Well I have to go pack. We are leaving for a wedding tonight, but we're taking laptop so I'll check in. Take care Melanie

Barken and Melanie- Congrats on TWINS!!!! What wonderful news! Funny that there are not that many people on this June forum but there are going to be lots of babies!!

Thanks to all of you for your supportive and encouraging words!! This is the only place where I can count on people actually "getting it"! In talking with DH last night and doing some research I have decided to just let it go and trust that things are fine. My RE said on the phone that ' I might have had two and now I have one" which I'm pretty sure is what sent me into a tailspin. Just to think that you can have something and then "poof" its gone is a thought that I just dont want to even think! I cant even remember the rest of the conversation with her (thanks anxiety!) but I do remember her saying not to worry... So I have made plans with non IVF related people rented some movies and as long as I keep waking up feeling sick and taking two naps a day, I guess it's all good! Only IVFers want symptoms!! hehe

Looking forward to hearing more ultrasound results!

Wow! It was sooo exciting to click on the "pregnant after treatment" button. Ive been waiting for ever to do that! Well I started the July board since Im due July 1, but its a little lonely over there. So I thought I would say hi to all my cycle buddies and hang out for a bit, if you dont mind.:)

Its good to see ya, Michaelajt, Shelby, Sancap, Statsgoddess!
Nice to meet you Pink, Melanie, Cork Girl, Dillys girl, barken, poohgirl.

There is sooooo much exciting news on this board...maybe some of your twin dust will rub off on me. I would love to have two....but of course one would be my little miracle.

Now, Im off to shop online for maternity pants...im so bloated I cant fit into any of mine. I feel dumb though cuz it is soooooo early. What are ya'll wearing?

Yay kala- Good to see you over here!!! Can you believe all the twins everyone's having...geesh! July 1st is close enough to June so I hope you stay with us! I haven't really been that bloated or anything so I am still in regular clothes, somedays their tight though. I'm going to try to hold off as much as possible in buying maternity clothes but you definately want to be comfortable so go for it!

DillysGirl- Yay movies!!! Sounds like fun! I'm glad you came to a consensus. I think breaking up the wait will be good for you. I can't stand these last 6 days but I couldn't imagine going two weeks without having any kind of update. Have fun with the "non-IVFers"!

Twins, Twins, Twins!!! W  W!!! Congrats to everyone on their awesome u/s results and GL Stats! We will be adding you to the multiples list today, too!

It's so nice to see my buddies from the Sept/Oct. board coming over to say hi. Kala - I think they really meant to say that you are due on June 30. Hang out with us!!!!!

AFM-RE is going to give me a prescription for Zofran to help with this darn nausea AND I woke up this morning with what feels like a urinary tract infection! I'm about to leave for the office so they can check. I'm still holding my head high and I WILL beat these miserable feelings!!! My babies are just not playing nice right now  .
