If I was an inventor i would invent a device which I can wear all the time and it keeps telling me my baby's FHR and its well being.....wishful thinking I guess!!
Went in for the nuchal test today . . . only the baby wass to small =) We're supposed to do the test between 11-13 weeks and my ob goofed and calculated my dute date a few days ahead of my RE . . . They thought I was 11 weeks and 2 days and in all actuality, I am 10 weeks and 5 days . . . I have to go back on Monday . . . I get to see the little guy again!
We got another doppled ultrasound and even a 4-D one! It was super cool! I could even see the ears and eyes and nose and mouth! Everything looks okay so far . . .
Hi All-
Thanks for all of your advice about this weekend. I was so torn. Things are okay here. I decided to skip class on Friday and went to class on Saturday. Teacher seemed okay with that and I felt okay enough to go. I took yesterday off of work, my m/s has been almost unbearable, which I hope is a good sign that everything is still okay. I've had a really bad headache for the past couple of days too. I had a teeny tiny bit of brown spotting again this morning, but other than that, things have been good.
Has anyone had any lower back pain or aches at all? I don't know if I slept funny (and i'm sure i'm paranoid), but my lower back has been aching. Nothing too bad, but I guess every little twinge has got me going now.
May- I'm on board with your invention! Sign me up! Thank goodness your PIO is done. I finish my Crinone tomorrow and i'll be glad to see that go!
Deftones- I"m jealous of your 4-D ultrasound! That sounds awesome.
mjay- I think they're talking about the NT Scan. It's a test that's done between 11-13 weeks and it measures the amount of fluid in the baby's neck. It's an ultrasound, so there's no associated risk to the babies. They also give you a blood test. Basically, the test indicates if your babies are at a higher risk of downs syndrome or trisomy. My RE recommended I get it done, so i've got an appointment on November 9. I'll be 13w5d at that point, but the pamphlet I have says that should be okay. Just a forewarning, according to my RE, if you have multiples on board, the ultrasound is a good indicator, but the bloodwork always comes back funny.
Monkeys- Yes, I burn up at night too. Especially my face and I sleep with a fan on my face. I always worry that my body temperature is going to rise too high.
jg- so glad you're ok. i freaked when you didn't post for a few days.
i am also burning up at night. i also noticed that i am burning up today too! i'm one that is always cold- i use a space heater year round, so this is a real change for me. i decided not to get the test to check for down's. i'm not willing to get an amnio to definitively prove it one way or the other, so the test would only stress me out.
Awww, thanks for your concern guys! It was a pain in the you know what to use the laptop when I was on bedrest, so I barely saw the internet until today.
mjay- I think I will totally freak out with the NT test. Basically the only reason i'm going is because a) my RE recommended it and b) I will get to see my babies again in an ultrasound and possibly find out the sexes. Oh, I was reading that in pregnant women, blood production increases by 50%. With twins, it increases by 100%, which is one of the reasons we're burning up so much.
H1N1- I'll get it when it becomes available, but it's really hard to get right now. I will ask my OB if they have a "list" that i'm hearing so much about. I'd rather go through my OB so that I know i'm getting the right one. I already got the regular flu shot and I work at a school where I see a bajillion students each day, so better safe than sorry.
so spent the day in NYC at a maternal/fetal specialist to find out that the twins are showing signs of twin to twin transfusion syndrome- we go back in 2 wks, but as of now it looks like we may lose the twins and keep the singleton-- we will know more in 2 weeks. For some reaon DH and I are doing well with this news and have left it to higher beings- we went in knowing it would be a long haul and drs have told us from the beginning that there was no gaurentee all 3 will make it- I guess having that in my mind is helping. We went into this for 1 healthly baby, anything extra is a wonderful bonus has also been my attitude- so we shall see in 2 wks
Hope everyone else is doing well

Fitz, I'm so sorry! I pray all turns out well. You have a wonderful attitude!
JG, glad you're off bedrest! How are you feeling?
As for the H1N1, I live in Fort Worth and the county has 3,000 shots to give out to preg. women and children with underlying health conditions this Friday. I'm sure the line is already forming...they are not requiring women to prove they're pregnant. I'm still going to go down and see if I can get one. My OB is only getting 40, so I would rather get one now if I can.
Third IVF - 3/08 BFP!! Our sweet boy born 10/08
IVF - Aug '09 - BFP!

I'm so sorry about your news! What can they tell at this point exactly? I'm just curiose as I also have twins plus one and they can't even tell for sure if the twins have one placenta or two yet. I'm 11 wks 4 days. Is it size or activitiy level or..?
I had my 2nd OB appt today. They still couldnt pick up the heartbeats by Doppler, so we got another ultrasound. They all looked good and one of the identicals was even doing flips in there. My mom was with and she got very emotional and was crying for a bit..with happiness
I'm doing the Ultrasound genetic testing next week hopefully...really just so I can see em again (Shhhh)
Faith- we went to NYC to a maternal/fetal specialist who measured and did lots of sonograms- basically 1 is smaller then then the other and the amount of amnionic fluid is significantly different in both sacs, originally baby b's heartrate was very low, then increased but size continues to be smaller then baby c. all articles i read says that its not good, however baby A is doing great- so thats good. They also did 3D sono and you could really see the size differental of the twins

fitzj-I am praying for you and I am sure as time goes by things will be all right.............[can you believe this I am saying this to you while I myself am on the edge]
I had some cramping today but no discharge. It lasted for 2-3 hrs then it resolved. My OB said that when uterus stretches its normal to have such cramps....do you all also experience such??
May- Yes, cramping happens to me all the time. I just finished my Crinone gel yesterday (YAY!!!), so I hope it starts to go away. I think my uterus stretched a lot yesterday because I was cramping and today, I look like i'm super pregs!
Fitz- I'm so sorry about what's going on with the identicals. You do have an amazing attitude. Keep us posted on what's going on. We're here for you if you need to vent!
Faith- Yay for another u/s. Ha ha, i'm only planning on the NT scan because it's another u/s too! I wish I could wear headphones and tune out what the doctor says so that I don't get freaked out. I have a question for you, since they were using a doppler on you with triplets. How do they find all 3 heartbeats? I heard that with a singleton, the heartbeat can be heard at several different locations, so how do they know they're getting separate heartbeats with triplets (or twins in my case). The last few appointments I've had, with the u/s the babies had the same exact heartbeats. Just curious if you (or anyone) knows the answer to that.
cheryl- I'm feeling okay. I have had some super light spotting about every other day or so, but i'm just hanging on until I see my doctor tomorrow. It feels like an eternity.
It seems like this week has been ridiculously long. Anyone have any fun plans for Halloween? We're not doing anything except for sitting on the couch and maybe renting some scary movies! I usually love Halloween, but I feel like it already happened like weeks ago for some reason. Probably because this first trimester has been soooo long!
