GHOST--HELP Please...

Post by Miracle0123 »

Ghost-- I am currently doing a egg donor cycle and RE called today and said the donor is responding faster than they thought she would and ER is going to be at least 3 days before we thought. My AF came later than they thought and now they are worried about my lining. So I am going in tomorrow to check the lining. so my question is.... if the lining is not ready, then can they freeze the embryos and then thaw them 5 days later for transfer? Or will I have to wait a cycle for a FET? I was also wondering what is an optimal lining measurment to have for transfer? Thanks so much for your help!

I suppose they could do that...but I've never seen a cyle where we needed to.

Endometrial thickness is ideally 10mm or greater in a fresh cycle. I don't know what it takes in a donor cycle or FET. Keep in mind, stimulation thickens the endometrium, perhaps because of the very high estradiol levels from stimulation. It's not as thick in donor and FET cycles, and apparently does not need to be.

Thank you for your response. I am hoping that things will work out, so I'll see tomorrow. Thank you. One more thing....if we do have to freeze them, is it true that the embryos that don't survive the freeze and thaw would probably not create a viable pregnancy?

There is speculation that freezing and thawing removes many of the weakest embryos. I don't recall any specific evidence for this, but I've heard some doctors say they believe it.
