Hi all
Iam vegetarian 5'3" tall with body weight between 105lb to 110lbs. IVF #1 failed. Retrived 24 eggs and none fertilized as all eggs were abnormal. The embriologist suggest to start fatty food diet which includes all meats(Beacon, ham, suasages). This is very diffcult for me as I was bought up eating only veges. I dont eat butter or eggs either. so this is going to be a big change.
Doc ofcourse does not guarantee the sucess after deit change but said this might be the reason for failed IVF as everything during the process was "text book perfect" (Doc used these words after IVF failed).
Has any one been in similar situation. Any advice on how to change diet to high protien and fats.
Just to let you know that my clinic has told me that protein is important for egg quality, not to overdo it but to include a sensible amount of protein in my diet.
I am noin fromt a vegetarian so I am not much help to you on how to increase prote veg sources but my clinic stressed protein sources such as salmon, eggs and steak. Quinona has alot of protein doesn't it?
Wishing you lots of luck XXX

I am a total vegetarian. The only way to get enough proteins is to increase the amount of sprouts, soya such as tofu and mealmaker and pulses in your meal. Also try Ensure which is very high in proteins.
On the issue of Soya I have read in certain books and on the net that it is not recommended for women trying to get pregnant, try to do some constructive research.

The doctor's advice might be good; you can survive on a vegetarian diet, but the amino acid balance of the protein will not be as good as protein from meat sources, and the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio in vegetable oils is typically much lower than ideal.
I know a few former vegans who now eat meat or are even carnivorous (meat only) at www.cavemanforum.com; you could ask your question there.

A good vegetarian source of fat is guacamole (avocados). Nuts too.
You might want to be careful with soybean products. They are loaded with phytoestrogen.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
