Stats – I am SO SORRY, Hun! I hate that happened, but I know you are right. Things will be a little easier on you and the 2 babies. I’m assuming it was one of the identicals? Please let me know if you want me to change you on the list. I will do whatever you want me to. Never heard of Cleolinda. I’ll check it out. Too funny about the Edward cutout!

Tonya – For about 2 weeks I was sick all day long. I hope that is over. Now I seem to get sick in the evenings.

shelbyrn0214- We must be on the same schedule because I get so sick especially around 4 oclock. The sad thing is I have a PHR ( Professional Human Resources) certification test coming up and I just don't know how I'm going to make it. I just ate some salt and vingar pototae chips hoping the salt would help my stomach because I'm tired of eating crackers hahhahah-

How many weeks are you now? I'm only 6 weeks and 5 days today. What are you doing to help with your sickness?

Stats I must have missed your post. I'm sorry for your loss, but your two babies will get to stay in Momma longer and be better off health wise. I was a little worried for you with the triplets. That said, a loss is still a loss and I am very sad for you.

Tonya I am starting for feel a little yucky at night. I don't want dinner and cooking grosses me out. I don't know what to do if it gets worse. My family's main meal is dinner and my DH doesn't eat much lunch so he is starving at dinner time. When I was PG the first time, I was sick every afternoon and evening from about 1:30 to 9:00. It lasted from week 8 till week 16. I was teaching at the time and had to go get sick during class everyday. Funny thing is the bathroom backed up to another classroom and we had thin walls. So that class heard me heaving everyday.
Ginger ale helps and you can buy Seabands from the pharmacy. They are wrist bands that push on a pressure spot on your wrist and ease the sickness. I guess maybe they help. My opinion is even if it's all in my head and my head tells me I'm better, that's good enough for me!

I think you can hear the heartbeat at 8wks. But I am rembembering that from 6 yrs ago so I could be wrong.

Thanks for the kind words, Tonya, Shelby, and Lisa. Lisa, we were worried for my health and the babies health as well. I guess these things have a way of working themselves out to be for the best.

Shelby - Yes, please move me to the twins list. We didn't have identicals, all fraternal. The smallest of the three is the one that didn't make it. It was a few days behind the other two at the first u/s, although not enough to concern the clinic at the time. Oh yes, you must read The Secret Life of Dolls. The Littlest Edward is just hilarious!

AFM, I'm glad it's the weekend. I've been very tired and needed a rest. DH is going to a geocaching event this morning, so I have to drive the 15 year old to dance in a few hours. Other than that, I may try to find some new pants this weekend, LOL.

Tonya- I love that you have a "Tickler" now-
That gave me a good chuckle this morning.

BTW- I never throw up, but I do get nauseated sometimes and it is mostly in the evenings...I even told my husband I don't know why they call it morning sickness?

Take care, Melanie

EVERYONE - I had a scare last night and I don't know what to make of it. I woke up around 1:00 am to some severe cramping...it almost made me sick to my stomach. I was hoping it was gas cramps and if I went to the bathroom (#2) it would subside. After approximately 10 - 15 minutes I was able to go to the restroom and the cramping did not come back; however, the cramping felt much more intense than any gas cramp I've ever had. Even as I write this now I feel like it could come back at any moment. I am so nervous. I did not have any bleeding with it, nor have I had any this morning. In fact I've not had any bleeding throughout this pregnancy. Do you think I may be reading too much into this? I called our hospital's Labor and Delievery this morning...BIG waste of time. They won't see you unless you are 20 weeks or along or you have an established care provider (which I won't have until this Tuesday when I go to hear the heartbeats). Her only advice was to go to the Emergency Room!

Has anyone out there experienced cramping this severe and everything turned out OK, or should I go to the ER? Is there anything that can even be done at this point?

Any information would be appreciated.

Misty

Misty- Bowels are all in the same area, so sometimes an irritating stool (one that is dry and has a lot of fiber) can make you feel like cramps. If you weren't pregnant, you wouldn't think much of it and just try to go #2. Since our bodies are increasing their blood volume by almost 3 times normal (I think that's what it is off the top of my head) a lot of our liquids are taken away from things including stools. That's why so many girls get constipated. Anyway, one vote for what your having is just bowel irritability. The other is a very full bladder. That is known to cause uterine irritability, you'll also feel crampy after going pee as the uterus goes back down to it's normal size and place (it is pushed up as the bladder gets fuller and fuller).
Since your cramping went away after using the bathroom for #1 and 2, then it was probably one of these. The fact that you have no bleeding is incredibly reassuring. Think about when you have a m/c, you bleed and just like your period, the bleeding is what causes cramping (your uterus contracts to expel blood, clots, and material).
I have remembered times in the past, when I wasn't pregnant, and I wasn't having a period, that I felt like I was "cramping", but it was just a need to go #2. I would think, jeez, if I had been pregnant, that would have really freaked me out.
Well, hope this helps a bit. Obviously, if you continue to have symptoms, then certainly seek medical attention. I just thought if this all subsides, then it may help to alleviate your fears.
Good luck and just take it easy today to be on the safe side :)

Misty- Forgot to answer your last question about whether anything can be done. What they will tell you to do is go on bedrest. There is nothing that can be done to prevent m/c at this stage.
The reason that Labor & Delivery units don't take pt's under about 20 weeks is that the fetus is not viable if born before this time. I can get into a lot more on this, but I don't want to freak people out.
The other thing you can do is call your RE. Since your not seeing your OB yet, then your still officially under their care. I can't image they would turn you away unless they were heartless. They will be on call today and can at least answer your questions. They are the experts. My expertise with OB is more in the labor and delivery area once things are further along. I don't know as much about early pregnancy.
Just give them a buzz and see what they recommend.

Misty-I agree with Melanie. Also, I have a a couple of more severe cramps here and there. But I have read everywhere that if the severe cramps are constant and there is heavy bleeding...then you should be concerns. Whenever I have more severe cramps, I lay in bed or on the couch for a few hours and that helps.

Stats-you are an amazing woman. Im so proud of your PMA. Your two little ones will grow nice and healthy and big! When is your next U/S?

Also, it sounds like we are all in the same boat with symptoms...but I was wondering if anyone was constipated yet? I have been drinking tons of water and have been very regular. I have this nagging thought in the back of my mind that my baby isnt getting enough nutrients cuz Im so regular. What to ya'll think?

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend!

Kala - Yes. Constipation is literally a pain in my *ace* now! I take stool softeners, but they just don't seem to do the trick anymore. I am eating a lot of Cheerios and shredded wheat cereal and that seems to help more than anything.

Mharrell - I have had the same thing happen to me. I firmly believe it's all related to our bowels. This is why so many women get hemorrhoids from straining.
