Hi Ladies!!!

I'm still here! :D Can't believe I'm 33 wks in 2 days. I can slowly get up after 34 wks so 1 more week to go :D :D Had my growth scan couple days ago and baby measured at 50th percentile and 4lbs3oz. I'm starting to feel so anxious I cant wait to meet her!!!

aims- did you decide on your c-sec? I cant believe you can have your babies in less than a week!!!!!! I'm glad your contractions eased up, hopefully your doc appt went well.

ianmichael3- i only feel popping but i dont hear it. my ob said its hicups and i feel it near my privates and she's head down so makes sense lol

cymplicity27- i have not even thought about picking out a pedi I'm so bad! because of this bedrest i cannot leave my house so i didnt even worry about it but i probably should lol Are your docs considering on delivering early?

kutekellie99- I hope your doing ok, keep us updated!

I have a weird question for you, do you get air bubbles like gas coming out of the privates? lol i googled it and alot of women get it its so funny lol and sure feels weird :)

Also on the movements did you guys notice a change from kicking to streching? my baby doesnt kick as much now its more like streching and wierd movements i never felt.

Hi Ladies! It looks like my contractions yesterday turned into labor. DH and I went to my appointment yesterday afternoon and I was 2cm dialated with my cervix really thin. Also the little boy was falling more behind on weight and the doctor felt it was better to deliver the babies. So, Piper Ruby was born yesteray at 6:40pm weighing 6lbs 5 oz. 19 inches long and Ren Holliday was born at 6:41pm weighing 3lbs 5 oz. 16 inches long. The babies are doing good but they are both in NICU. Piper was having some breathing problems but healthy otherwise. Ren is really tiny but breathing on his own. Their biggest concern right now is his penis. It's attached to his scrotum and one of the testicles hasn't dropped yet. The doctor even said they were doing chromosome tests to ensure he is a boy...hmmmm. I'm pretty sure though it's a boy. I don't see anything looking like a girl.

I'm doing good and I did have a c-section. The worst part was the spinal block. They had a hard time getting it in. I didn't get to see the twins very much in delivery. Around 11pm I was finally feeling my legs and asked to see them. I saw Piper and then I got sick. So, I didn't get to see Ren last night. I had the worst headache. It turned out I had a spinal headache from the spinal block. I wasn't able to even sit up until later today. I had to get a spinal patch done. They took some blood from my arm and then put it in my spine. My headache was gone almost immediately. I've been able to get up slowly and actually see the babies.

Anyway, I need to get some rest but wanted to let everyone know.

Dys and Cynthia - Thanks for the congratulations! It looks like I will be in the hosptial until sunday. I could go home saturday if I wanted but hubby has to work saturday. I can't take care of 3 dogs on my own. So, I'm going to wait until Sunday to go home.

I have no idea how long the babies will be in NICU. I don't think they know. It depends on their breathing. My milk hasn't come in yet to feed them but they can't take a bottle yet anyway. They have a feeding tube through their mouth right now. I think before they let them come home, they have to be eating on their own. It's gong to be really hard on Sunday if I have to go home without them.

stretching

Post by Tara2009 »

Kutekellie,

Yes, I do sense a lot of stretching now. I can see that my belly stretches sideways when the baby is stretching inside. It is so much fun to watch.

Hi ladies. I got my scheduled c-section date! Dec 4th is it. I'll be 38 wks then. Although they are still expecting me to go sometime during the week before or of Thanksgiving. I'm just happy to have a countdown date :D :D :D. I'm kinda in the same boat as Amy with it all coming down to how my "little" twin is doing. So far she's hanging in there but they say the minute they see her struggle they'll rush me to delivery.

Anyone else's hands and feet swelling yet? My feet are huge!! I asked the doc about them at my last appt and he said they were normal. My sister said they look like cartoon feet, LOL! I can only wear one pair of shoes that I can slide my feet in that have an elastic band that goes over the top. I'm also down to only 2 pairs of pants/sweats I can fit into, so I'm not leaving the house much these days! :D

Cynthia - That's great that you got a date for c-section. I hope you are able to keep them in there as long as possible. Piper and Ren are doing great but it's really really hard to see them in NICU. I hear all the babies on my floor going to be with their parents, and makes me really jealous I can't have the twins with me. I will say the NICU staff has been really great. I'm glad they are keeping an eye on your "little" twin. I'm sure she will be a fighter like my little boy.

AFM - I had another spinal headache. They are the worst headaches I've ever had. I had to get another blood patch to help the headache plus I was dehydrated. So, I had to be hooked back up to the iv. After all that was under control, I was finally able to see the twins. In the middle of all that my milk came, and I'm busting out of my nice new nursing bras! Piper is doing good. They took her off of oxygen today and she's holding her temp on her own. There's a possibility she will go home with us tomorrow or beginning of the week. I'm still not sure when Ren will go home with us. He's a strong little guy. Well, I need some rest but I will give everyone updates when I can.

Amy, I can only imagine. My biggest fear is not being able to take my babies home with me. I'm so anxious to deliver and for this pregnancy to be over but I'd rather be uncomfortable for a few more weeks if it means them being healthier! At 34 weeks my little one is 3 lbs 13 oz already so it gives me a little hope knowing your little one is even smaller but doing well. I know it's hard for you to see others taking their babies home but it sounds like the twins are strong and will be going home sooner rather than later! :D Sorry about your headaches :( That sounds terrible!

How is your recovery going? I was wondering if I'd finally get a comfortable nights sleep after delivering of if it would just be different discomforts from the c-section recovery. Are you really sore? Do you have to stay on your back? Have you nursed yet are are you pumping for them? I just have no clue what to expect!

Well I woke up this morning at 3:30 a.m. thinking my sister had given me her cold because my nose was running. Well I went to the bathroom to get tissue and saw that my hands were all red. Yes my nose was bleeding profusely! In the past I've had 2 other instances where I've wiped and seen a few drops of blood. This was the first time it's been this bad. So I did what I've seen on TV (LOL) and just held my head back and pinched my nose for about 10 minutes. So now I'm just wide awake. My mother and sister both had spent the night with me and we were all up at 3...how nice.

Well enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies. I'll be watching football all day with DH and keeping these babies in :D

Cynthia- that is awesome, and it is my due date too :) I'll put my money on your twins to my singleton though! My feet are also swollen and doc says it's normal- my BP is just fine, so no pre-eclampsia worries :)

Aims, I'm still hoping those itty bits come home sooner than later.

AFM: People say it looks like I swallowed a beach ball, but I only feel like I'm SITTING on a beach ball. I'm ready to have these stupid hemmorroids BANDED. :(

Cynthia - The headaches have been terrible. I had another spinal headache come back last Saturday. I had another blood patch in my spine and was hooked back up to the iv for 24 hours. It seemed to work until Sunday right before I was discharged to go home. There wasn't anything more they could do for me.

The recovery feels like it is going slow. The first night I was able to sleep on my back which was very exciting. lol. But I didn't get a good nights sleep because the nurses had to check on me every 4 hours. The first night I had a morphine drip for the pain. I suggest pushing the little button. It will be your friend. The 3rd time they checked on me, they were required to get me out of bed. I was able to take a few steps and that's it. So, the best I can say is you are still uncomfortable but in a different way. I have tried to nurse Piper but she doesn't want much to do with it yet. So, I have been trying to pump. It has been really hard to get on a schedule with pumping especially at the hospital. Everyone is always in and out and I didn't want a boob hanging out for company.

AFM - I'm still sore but my headache seems to be gone. Hopefully for good. We were able to bring Piper home last night. She feeds about every 2 hours. It is really hard having Ren still in NICU but he is doing good. We had to wait for hubby's sister to watch Piper today before we could go see him and take some breast milk. While we were visiting him, I was able to change his diaper. I was in the wrong spot to change his diaper. I was thinking I need to move out of target range so I wouldn't get peed on, and right before I was able to move, I didn't get peed on but pooped on. lol. He shot it right out of his little butt on to my shirt. Oh well, lesson learned.

I hope everyone is doing well. I need to try to go to bed. I'm so tired.

Aims!!!

Its great that Piper came home with you. Don't worry, it won't be long before Renin also joins you all at home. Getting pooped on your shirt!! That is a blessing!!!

Hang in there, and my wishes for your speedy recovery.

Tara.

Hey Ladies! It's been a while, I'm not getting my email notifications dern it!

aims327 - Congrats on the twins!! I left you a facebook comment...but wanted to say congrats again. You're the first to be a mommy on here...that's great!

Cynthia- So you finally have a c-section date? AWESOME! I know how you feel...I am sooo ready for this baby to be out, but at the same time, I want her to be healthy and I'm willing to do what it takes to get her as close to term as possible.

ianmichael3 - Did you ever try the olive oil on your hemmorroids? Did it not help any? I hope you can find some relief...
I am having the opposite problem, I have diarrhea almost everyday. Which, is kind of annoying...but at the same time, I guess better out than in LOL

Tara2009 - Yep, same here. My baby girl just stretches around, no kicking or punching. I can feel her feet under my rib cage...it feels weird. Her head is so far down into my pelvis they can't even see the top of her head in the ultrasound....which is probably why I feel like I have to pee all day long...even after I have peed. She's made my bladder into a pillow!!

Anyway, I went to the doctor yesterday for a non-stress test and ultrasound. The good news is the NST was fine, her heart rate was fine and she did some kicking around.
Bad news, she's not growing well. She was 4 pounds 12 ounces at 30 weeks, but now at 35 weeks, she's just an even 5 pounds. So she's only gained a few ounces in 5 weeks. Even though I wasn't supposed to see a doctor yesterday, she did come in a talk to me about it. She said the baby was ok, but that she wasn't growing well b/c of the preeclampsia.
So, as far as I know, they are still planning to induce labor at 37 weeks, the week of Thanksgiving. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well until I can be induced!!
