Has anybody over 40 had a successful pregnancy with their own eggs with FSH levels at 15? I just spoke to my doctor and he told me these were the test results and that I had to go on highest medication for getting pregnant with my own eggs. He said the chances were 10 - 20%. Does anyone have any experiences to share particularly with regards to the medications?
thanks,

You doctor is correct. An elevated baseline FSH level corresponds with low follicular sensitivity to FSH, requiring greater FSH dosing for a longer period to achieve successful stimulation. Even when the stimulation is successful, the eggs obtained are fewer and of lower quality than for a younger patient, and the longer stimulation makes the endometrium less receptive. Thus the chance of success is reduced, and 10-20% is in the ballpark of that lower success rate.
