This is my 2nd IVF cycle. IVF cycle #1 was cancelled because I over suppressed and under stimulated.
I did 33 days of BCP and took my last pill last Wednesday (10/21). My period never arrived and so I went to the Dr. on Sunday for blood work and an ultrasound---and was given the go ahead to begin shots. I'm doing a Lupron Flare protocol. So I did 20 units of Lupron on Sunday night and am doing 20 units of Lupron every AM and every PM. On Monday night I started stimulation shots--300 iu of Gonal-F and 150 iu of Menopur. On Monday I had some spotting and on Tuesday evening I started with my period.
On Wednesday morning I went for bloodwork. My estrogen is lower than where they would hope it would be and they told me to stay on my current protocol and come back on Saturday for blood work and an ultrasound. The nurse said, 'cross your fingers that you can catch up.'
My question is, has anyone ever had their period start once they started stimulation? If yes, how did this affect your cycle?
I cannot find much information about this...so any advice or experience is appreciated.
With my cycle, I suppose to have my period 3 days after I stop BCP. Which should be on 10/19, but I don't have it and even on 10/20. I start penic and ask my RE, they told me it should be ok if US shows I have thin lining. If not, they might push out the stim medication date until I got my period.
Luckly I have mine at late 10/20. So I was fine. Actually I was still in my period when I start my stims. RE said it should be fine since the medicine will help to build the lining up again. As you go through each day of the stims, and u/s, your RE should able to tell the lining condition if that meet their requirement. Don't worry, just ask them during your next check ups.
Jessica- So what happened??? I started my period 3 days into my follistim shots, and I'm afraid they will cancel my cycle because my lining will be too thin.
