Wow Kutekellie!!! Congratulations on the arrival of Gabriela. Glad to know everything went well. You must be very exhausted. Take care and enjoy the time with the baby.

When you get a chance write about the induction process and all. I think Cynthia goes next, then Ian and then probably me!!! How exciting....

Take care Kutekellie.

Tara.

Kutekellie, Congratulations on the baby! I'm glad it went well. 33 min. of pushing is really good! My 1st baby took me 3 hours. I feel most afraid of pushing again.

Tara, I really liked Avent bottles with my first baby so we are going with those again.

Does anyone know how much the hospitals charge to rent an electric breast pump? I was thinking of buying one, but I would rather try one out first before spending all that money and then have it not work (I didn't do so well with breastfeeding before, but then I only tried a manual pump). I know babies r us is pretty expensive to rent one...you might as well buy one for what they charge. I'm hoping the hospital is cheaper.

I had an u/s last week to be sure my placenta wasn't blocking my cervix and it wasn't so were given the green light for a vaginal delivery. The baby is already measuring over 6 pounds and the u/s tech gave us a due date of 12/18 although my Dr. has us still at 12/26. I guess they don't really change your due date since we did IVF. I feel so ready to have this baby now :) I feel like I will probably the last one on this thread to deliver! LOL.

Cynthia, Can't wait to hear about your delivery this Friday! I will be thinking of you!

Ianmichael, I'm now feeling your pain with the hemorroids! I have been having this problem the last couple of weeks and I have been really constipated. Any suggestions? I want to get rid of it before I deliver since I know how bad it can be after pushing out the baby. I know I need to try and drink more water, but do any of the products work well like prep H or anything?
I hope you are doing good! Thanks for any advice!

Thanks all for the tips on feeding bottles. I have bought the Avent bottles.

I had the OB visit and u/s yesterday. Baby looks good, weights 7.3 lbs. My blood pressure was a little higher than normal so I am on restricted activity now. I will be working from home until delivery. MY induction date is still Dec 6th.

I want to take things easy and enjoy the last few days of pregnancy...but for some reason I am so anxious and agitated and restless!! And that is not helping to bring down my BP :-(

Hey Ladies!
Hope everyone is doing well! I'm doing good, just really tired from lack of sleep...but worth it!
Monday went as well as I had hoped. Thank goodness...I went in at 7:30am. They checked me in then it all started. They checked my cervix, which was still 3cm, then broke my water; which didn't hurt at all. Then they started me on Pitocin and gradually, the contractions got worse and worse. But, really, they weren't un-bearable. I could have probably gone all the way without an epidural, but I figured why lay here in pain when I can lay here painless. So I waited till I was 6cm then got the epidural. The epidural wasn't real painful...although they gave me a bit too much medicine in it and I was completely numb from the chest down, I couldn't move or feel anything from the chest down...which is fine with a C-section, but with a vaginal birth was a pain in the butt. They said it would wear down and I wouldn't feel that numb, but it didn't. So they cut it off completely and even then I was numb. But, somehow I managed to push, although I didn't feel the urge to push at all. She came out after 33 minutes of pushing and around 10 hours labor. I did have bad tearing, I tore inside and out and tore my perinium. Now the tearing hurts!! TMI I know, but it was the worst part of it all.
Anyway, I'm doing good and Gabriella is doing good too, she's a little jaundice, but I'm taking her to the doctor and they are checking her every two days to make sure it doesn't get too bad.
Well, can't wait to hear about everyone's birth experience and I hope you all do well!!

Kellie- thank you so much for the update! That sounds like a wonderful delivery- minus the tearing, but you will heal surprisingly quickly (I did with Ian's 4th degree tear).

Trying: I just was really good about using prep H extra strength 3xs per day and it has worked really well- they aren't gone, but are smaller and bearable. Hope that helps- someone else recommended some kind of oil, but I never got around to buying it or trying it.

I lost my mucus plug yesterday and today. Had an amazingly strong contraction in the middle of the night, but then that was it. I'm reading a book about natural births, they are all positive experiences, so I'm hoping that will help me through- still not ruling out an epidural, though :)

Nicole - Sounds like you will go into labor soon!

Kelly - I'm glad to hear you and Gabriella are doing good. I understand the lack of sleep. I'm just now starting to feel like I'm in a routine. I still don't sleep very much but I'm getting use to it.

AFM - Everything is going good. My incision from the c-section gets better every day. Piper is now 7lbs and being very vocal. Ren hasn't been gaining much weight. He's only 3lbs 12oz. The pediatrician is working with me on giving him more calories. Ren also has acid reflux which is not helping him keep his food down. The doctor finally put him on zantac. I think it helps some but not totally.

Now that almost all of us have delivered, I hope we can all keep in contact. Not sure if anyone is interested in doing a thread in the 'Parents after treatment' section. We've chatted on here for so long already, I'd like to keep in contact to at least share our experiences with the babies.

Hi everyone:

Sorry I've been MIA for a few month, but I have deal with DG and been busy. Congratulation for all of you who already have your babies on your hands and good thoughts for those aproaching the big moment.

AFM For a few weeks I had High leak of amniotic fluid, but didn't knew it until now. On November 15, at almost 35 weeks, I had a big episode of losing amniotic fluid and ended in the hospital and after a long night and induce labor of very painful 10 hours and having a C-Section Dariel was born on November 16, weight 5-10 and Lengh 20 1/2. He was in NICU for 3 days but now is home, very healthy and strong.

Some one ask about the pump, I bought an electric pump in walmart, it cost 42 dolars is EVENFLO is very good. The first time I literally drew 3 drops, now I'm at 2 1/2 oz. So don't give up if you see nothing the first time, just keep trying.

God bless all of you.

I've been gone for a minute and most of you ladies gave birth already!!! :D :D

Congratulations to all of you new mommies I'm glad everything is good with you all and your babies!!!

aims327- I'm glad your c-sec scar is healing, how are you dealing with having two babies? I can't imagine how tired you must be! I'm so happy to hear both of them are doing good and are safe at home with you.

ianmichael3- are you past your due date yet? are you going to induce if he/she doesnt come soon? How exciting that you lost your MP i think I'm loosing mine slowly but I feel the baby way up so not sure when I'll go into labor.

Cymplicity i hope you and your twins are doing good at home. Let us know how your delivery went and how the babies are doing. Cant wait for update!

I can't believe I'm still pregnant after all this bedrest and pre term labor scare I feel like I'm going to go past my due date. Doctor said baby is high  so we just have to wait and see. I think I'll be the last one on here to deliver lol !

For those of you new mommies how fast did your milk come in? I'm debating if i should bring my pump with me to delivery or will they provide me with one if i request it? I would rather try to use mine but i dont know how fast the milk comes in.

Sari - Congrats on delivering your precious son. I'm glad to hear you are both doing good.

Tara - Cynthia did deliver her twins on the 27th. I've seen the babies' pics on facebook and they are beautiful. She seems to be doing well.

dys - I am very glad my c-section incision is healing. My stomach above the incision is still really sore but tons better. It has been busy with 2 babies and yes I am very tired. I try to take a nap when they sleep but it doesn't always work out that way. It takes 3-4 days for your milk to come in. When I was being prepped at the hospital they asked if I was goign to formula or breast feed. By the next morning, they were giving me the hospital pump to use. I didn't have to ask for it. The lacation consultant just brought it. They will have you pump or try putting the baby to the breast before your milk comes in. It will help stimulate the nipples to get your milk started. I had to pump the whole time in the hospital because the twins were in NICU. I'm still mostly pumping. It's been really hard to get a good supply of milk going. I'm hoping it doesn't dry up too soon but it will be my fault for not pumping enough.

dilated!

Post by Tara2009 »

Hi ladies,

I had my last OB appointment today. I am 4cm dilated!!! She was very happy about it. So we are going to skip the Cervidil process on Sunday night and get induced with Pitocin on Monday morning.

dilation

Post by Tara2009 »

Hi Ladies,

I went to my last OB appointment and today. She said that I am 4cm dialated!!! So now the plan is to skip the Cervidil procedure on Sunday night and go directly for induction on Monday morning! She said the first 4cm dialtion is the hardest and longest part! But she was surprised that I am not having any contractions.

I have another concern. Since she examined my cervix, I had slight bleeding. OB said there will be some blood after the examination, so I didn't bother much. But I am still if I wipe, I am seeing some blood. I am not sure if it is still the result of the cervical exam or if I am loosing the mucus plug. I am confused. If I continue to bleed tomorrow morning, I am going to call.

Tara.
