Is Ghost in town?....and it's not even x-mas yet?

Post by Sisi1 »

I had my one and only cycle back in March and had a burning question I always wanted to ask but at the time your very existence was only a rumor :P.

I had several back to back monitored cycles and learned a lot about how my body functions. One of the things that I found out is that one of my ovaries responds A LOT better then the other and I have not really seen any discussion about this here or anywhere else for that matter?
What gives?
I am pretty sure this is not all that rare and could make the world of difference for many women? I don't understand why this is not consideration #1 when working with poor responders????
My Dr. never gave it a consideration but my ultrasound tec., (who was not supposed to say anything) sure had an opinion!

PS There is absolutely nothing physically (diagnosed) wrong with my ovaries.
41, unexplained (plain old) fsh 4.7
DH 55 lots of good swimmers

3xIUI BFN
First and last IVF:
A) canceled due to low response on day 3

I don't exist.

I don't believe asymmetric response is rare, but in the end the number and quality of retrieved eggs is the main measure of success of ovarian stimulation, regardless of which ovary they came from.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Hi Sisi,
I'm so happy to see you here! I don't know if you remember me from way back on the march/april thread. I was just thinking about you last week and wondering whatever happened to you.
In my first cycle when one ovary seemed to be doing better than the other my RE mentioned that it is common for one ovary to produce more. Kind of like a dominant ovary I guess! He didn't say if that affects the outcome though.
I don't know if this will help you or has anything to do with your issues but my acupuncture place has a "webinar" coming up re: optimizing your ovarian reserve. If you go to acubalance.ca you should be able to find the info for it.

I hope you are keeping well and I wish you all the best in your ivf journey. May you have your happy ending soon!!
