Hey Girls, Glad to hear everyone is doing so well.
Misty- I did end up changing OB's. I went for my first appt with him today. He does a low quality ultrasound every visit since he doesn't trust the doppler to pick up both babies and be sure he's not getting the same one both times. So that is exciting. I used to work with him at the hospital and am so excited I changed. He gives out his pager and cell phone, and wants to be there for me if I need him and he's not on call. How awesome is that. Anyway, both babies hb's looked great today. I will have a nuchal translucency test on Dec 10Th, then see him afterwards (3 wks). He told me they will have test results that same day. Pretty cool. FYI- this test is a mostly uninvasive (blood work and u/s) to see if your baby has certain major defects like downs. The blood work is done before your u/s and the u/s is usually 11-13 weeks into pregnancy.
As far as weight, I will probably want to gain about 40 lbs (I had normal starting weight).

AFM- I had been incredibly fatigued for the last 2-3 weeks. This week has been great. I have had more energy and therefor feel happier. It was almost depressing not having energy to do anything, but watching things pile up around you that are screaming, I need done!
Well, hope every one is doing good. I only have a little longer until I'm done with meds also, YEAH!
BTW- Lisa- never saw the boobies like this... (.)(.) LOVE THEM

Oh my goodness. So much has been going on. Babies are doing great! I have my last u/s with RE tomorrow and my first visit with OB on 12/15. Bittersweet. I have been feeling so much better lately. Still sleepy, but I will take that over throwing up any day. 8)
We found out that DH has been having some not so friendly heart rhythms and we had him put on a heart monitor a week ago. Well, the result was that he was going into a rhythm called V-Tach (for those of you who are not in the medical field, if this originates in the wrong place in the heart, it can cause death). So, we went yesterday and had those heart cells burned away (called an ablation). He's sore, but doing better. The Lord was watching out for us that's for sure!!!!! He also needs rotator cuff surgery. We are going to try and get all this done before the end of the year, first, because our insurance deductible is met, and second, so he can have plenty of time to heal up before he has to be carrying babies around! November has not been a good month for us for the last two years. Last year @ this same time, he was admitted to the hospital for 11 days and had emergency abdominal surgery - twice! I'm boycotting November next year!!!!!!!!

Sorry to share all of our bad news, but I am not considering it bad anymore. The Lord has shown us that he truly does look out for us and blesses us everyday.

I wish everyone a very safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday!

Hi all, I just graduated from the IVF/RE to the OB and had joined the July 2010 board but realized my due date since I'm preggers w/ twins will actually be in June:) I'm so happy to see there are many other twin mommies on this board as I'm starvin for some advice.

I am 8 weeks today and have had 2 u/s. The last one at 7 weeks 4 days showed both with healthy HB's but one of the CRL measurement was showing about 3 days behind (the other one on time) and I'm very concerned...would any of you please mind sharing what the measurements/hb for you were at your u/s around this timeframe? Thanks so much!

Welcome bubbles! Congrats on the twins. You definitley joined the right board, lots of twins here! :D :D

I will list my twin measurements so you can compare. Seems like they were similar to yours around week 7.

@ 7w2d
Baby A- on Target HB=142
Baby B- 6w 6d HB=132
RE told me to be "cautiuosly optimistic" about Baby B, but that the stong hb was a good sign.
@ 8w4d
Baby A- 8w5d HB=179
Baby B- on Target! HB=170

I have an OB appt. on Tuesday and I am hoping for another ultrasound so I will update any new measurements.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, soo many things to be thankful for!!

Thanks Dillysgirl for sharing your info. My exact #'s were:
1st u/s at 6 weeks 4 days, hb's at 112 and 119 (8'4mm & 8'9mm crl)
2nd u/s at 7 weeks 4 days, hb's at 156 & 157 (10mm & 11mm crl).

I'm concerned about the CRL's as they seemed to have a growth spurt and Baby B caught up w/ the HB but is still smaller in size for the date I think. Would you mind sharing yours? Just trying to figure out what the normal size for this stage is...however, I understand every single baby is unique. Thanks again.

My RE was happy with baby A's size on first u/s and then happy with both on u/s #2. I think your babies are doing great! It's soo easy for any and all of us who have gone through soo much to get pregnant to stress out on everything. Best thing for you and the babies is to just relax and enjoy being pregnant. (I have to tell myself this often!)

So, is anyone starting to look preggers yet?? I feel like during the IVF journey I gained a couple rolls on the tummy and just this morning I noticed it's pretty much rounded out now, like a little pot belly :) And DH agreed, which he was informed that pregnancy is the only time he is allowed to comment on a growing stomach!!

Shelby Your DH sounds like mine! He had abdonimal surgery too in the past after getting very ill. Turned out to bee the gallbladder. I needed mine removed this May too. He also needs rotator cuff surgery. He has for years, so it's probably not as bad as your DH's because he has never wanted to put in the time for recovery.
That heart stuff is so scary. My oldest DD had a heart defect and she had some chest pains last week while running at school. I took her to the cardiologist yesturday and all looks fine, so no restrictions. But when it's the heart, that's scary. Remember next November you'll be holding those little babies in your arms and you won't want to skip any month of that!

Thanks DillysGirl...I'm totally trying to relax more as stress will do not good...just wish there was some sign the babies could give just once/day(not too much to ask for;) to say hey we're hanging strong in here:)

About looking preggers, I feel like I mostly wake up w/ my normal "flatish" belly and then by the end of the day end up looking 5 months preggers from the bloating, but thats it. Can't wait for that baby belly to start growing:)!!

Not much action going on here, so I hope that means that everyone is well and enjoying their pregnancies!!

I had my first OB appt. today and was soo excited I got to see my babies in 3D! Was the first time they actually looked like babies! Little fingers and long arms! Somebody pinch me, so I know this is real!

Many blessings to everyone!!

DillysGirl, Congrats on your 1st OB appt:) It must be SO exciting! Are the 3D scans the external ones? It is so hard to believe something this great is happening when you've wanted it to happen for so long! I am so happy for you and for us all! It has been very quiet on this board indeed:)

I have my 1st appt today too, but I think its more of a couseling session for new patients and setting me up for bloodwork, etc. I'm seeing a obgyn in the military network (they said a midwife works with you throughout w/ the obgyn seeing the patients as needed, which has me concerned). They told me b/c of twins I may get to see an obgyn instead, which I'm going to push for today. Regardless, I've signed up for additional insurance starting Jan 1, so I'll be seening a high risk OB starting then.

Others on this board w/ multiples, would you mind sharing if you are working with a high risk ob, general ob or midwife? Thanks.

Hey guys - sorry I've been MIA. I've been lurking but not posting. I think after losing the one baby, it kind of took me a little while to feel better again.

So, we had our 11.5 week scan last week and we have two babies who are right on schedule. Baby A was kicking and squirming all over the place and we never did get a good take-home picture! Baby A even gave a good kick toward Baby B and sent him/her flying up, which was pretty funny to watch!!

Our next appointment with the OB is Dec 17th, which I don't imagine will be very exciting. Our next u/s and meeting with the high risk doctor is January 5th....AND we may be able to find out the gender if the babies cooperate with their placement!! So that is exciting :)

Bubbles - To answer your question, I am seeing a regular OB who will deliver the babies and a high risk doctor who does all my ultrasounds and works with my OB. We met the high risk doctor last week for the first time and he was really knowledgeable and we both liked him a lot.

The most frustrating thing I've experienced so far is actually hearing the heartbeat on the doppler at the OB's office. That's all fine and good, but he can't tell me if he's hearing two heartbeats or one heartbeat in two places since they are both so small now! It was not reassuring at all, actually.

Anyway, I hope you are all doing well!!
