Donor Eggs

Post by IVFinNJ »

Has anyone been through IVF/ISCI with donor eggs? Any advice? I'm having a hard time getting my head around it.

IVFnNJ - I am wanting to do DE. Just can't wrap my head around the expenses to do it. I am fine with using DE, I want to do whatever gives me the best chances. i don't care about genetics and it will still be my biological child. Wishing you the best of luck and keep us posted on what you decide.

I did donor eggs and I am about 10 weeks 4 days pregnant with twins. For me it was a very positive experience. The cost is a issue, if you are in the US you have to pay for the donor that can run $4000-10000, mine cost $5000. It varies quite a bit. My donor was proven meaning she had done it before and had a positive beta. Then it is your responsibility to pay for all of her scan, tests, reterival and meds, plus all of yours. Total cost for us was $32000 so it is very pricy, but your odds are very good. I think someone mentioned out Donor egg place under the general board. If you ask some specific questions I will try to answer them:-) Good luck with your decision!

poohgirl - First, congrats on your BFP!!!! Thank you for your insight, we met with our RE to get some general information and are meeting with an agency tomorrow.

It was surreal to scroll through the profiles on the agency's website. It felt like years ago (before I met DH) when I would scroll through match.com!!! It's strange to scrutinize...looking at every detail of their face, their history, their everything. Never thought I would spend hours on the internet picking eggs!

to_have_fun08 - I know what you mean about the expense. We have a general idea but will find out all of the details tomorrow and when I find out, I think I will probably having another crying session.

With Love
