new hope!

Post by loopylou57uk »

hello girls,i just wondered if any of you read the article in the sun yesterday about the new treatment for people who have had failed ivf,its called ivig, and it sounds really promising, basically it is to do with nk cells and a new treatment to help the embies stick around, its only available in a few clinics though,it made very interesting reading for me as i have had 2 ivf treatments now and both been chemical pregnancies, and i was hoping to have my nk cell test done anyway before my next treatment.
take care.love loopy. :)

Hi there Loopy

Yes - I was reading it last night. What I found strange was they said that the RCOG said "the jury was still out", although there's been proven studies which show positive results.

A few buddies on this site have recently talked about KCs. It looks like at the moment though, only a couple of clinics in the UK offer, and have some faith, in the testing. ...The Sun made it sound like a breakthrough, though the diagnosis may have been around for some time (?), providing the £s are there maybe ?

hi loopy, i was tested for NK cells at the lister and i was borderline,
so i started a course of steroids. I cant remember how much it cost
for the blood test, but it wasnt too expensive, and the steroids are
about £15.00 i think, i did have steroids on my 3rd unsucessful treatment
at the London womens clinic (they did not do a blood test) but i got
my +itve on the 4th go taking the steroids, i know the jury is still
out, but im sure like me u are will to give anything a go.
good luck alisonn
