Bubbles - I was heavy on the first go around so I don't really know how to answer your question. I just ate what I wanted to when I wanted to and it wprked out.

I had another u/s today at 8w5d. Both babies looked really good. One measured 8w5d and the other measured 8w4d. They were both moving their arms and legs and baby A even flexed its back.

Can't wait to hear from everyone else.

Hi Ladies-
I hope I can join the July 2010 group. We had our first ultrasound today and saw the sac and heartbeat. Amazing! I am 6w1d. The heart rate was 118. I hope that is good. I am considered high risk due to 3 prior miscarriages, so my RE wants to see me for a second ultrasound next week before releasing me to my OB/GYN. I have been experiencing mild cramping that comes and goes. I have read that this is normal, but any reassurance or similar experiences would be helpful. With everything that we have been through I can't believe this is real! Still very nervous and I hope that at some point I can not worry so much and enjoy my pregnancy. Looking forward to sharing stories over the next 9 months:)

fkm7783,
I've had cramping ever since around positive beta to now(8 weeks 4 days). Although since about 7.5 weeks it went from twice a day cramping to every other day or so...when I had my 1st OB counseling appt today they told me its the round ligament pain and very normal. Mine almost feels like very dull(but yet v. noticeable) period ache feeling in lower abdomen.

bjones22
So excited for you for the great u/s...and I'm excited for mine on fri now...I really hope I see some active LO's in there! I told hubby if they're like him, they'll prob be napping any given chance and if like me prob pacing around:) Oh I asked the RN about my appetite issue and she said its actually very normal to not have an appetite at all in the 1st trimester. She was also right on as she asked me if I get nauseous if I don't having something small to eat every couple of hrs even if I don't feel like eating which is true for me...so it put my mind at ease a bit. Anyways congrats again on having an awesome day:)

fkm7783 I'm glad you joined us over here. I tried to PM you last week, but it wouldn't go through so I gave up. I wanted to tell you congrats!

I had my ultrasound yesturday and met with the OB. U/s looked great! The baby looks like a turtle. The appointment was pretty quick. It was kinda like...you've done this before, any questions?

Bubbles 13 & Lisa10: Thanks for the info. Hope you are feeling good!

This morning sickness thing is for the pits! I don't throw up, but have awful dry heaves (sorry for TMI). It feels like a horrible hangover. I guess it is a blessing b/c it reassures me that my pregnancy is progressing. My clinic gave me the H1N1 shot this week. I work in a high school and we have several confirmed swine flu cases, so I was happy to get the shot. Anyone else get the shot?

I got the shot about 4 weeks ago. I waited 3 hours to get it. But with all the media and the pregnant women dying stories, I was freaked out. Then this week, I went to the OB and they had them there if I wanted it. Well, at least I have been protected already. My sister got H1N1, and I was around her a day before the symptoms hit her.

fkm As far as morning sickness. It so stinks!!! Mine is getting better in general. The RE said around 10 to 12 wks. I also got a perscription for a pill to help with it. It worked, but I only took it twice when I was going places where vomiting wasn't an option. I work from home, so normally I can get by even if I get sick. I mostly had the sick feeling too only all day and all night, but for about the past week I have been vomiting about once every other day. Funny because now I vomit, but am not sick all day anymore. Who knows??? At least I can brush my teeth now. That was the worst!

Hi everyone,

I'm so happy to be here. And yes the morning sickness is the pits, but it does indicate a healthy pregnancy, so I'll take it!

I've had 2 u/s already and both times the RE saw twins definitely, and there is a questionable 3rd!! There is a shadow behind the 2 and he's not sure if that's the 3rd sac or not.

So given that it's multiples, my due date will be in July, so I'm here to stay with you wonderful women! :D :D :D

Fkm-Welcome! So glad to have you with us. I also got the H1N1 shot. I work with elementary kids and didnt want to risk it. They gave shots for free a couple weeks ago. And yes...I feel hung over too...ALL THE TIME! But I hear it is suppose to go away soon.
Teachermom-Twins...or triplets!!! That is such wonderful news! I am so happy for you! When is your 3rd u/s?
AFM-I had my 2nd u/s on Friday. It was amazing! My little baby was dancing around in my belly! DH and I keep calling it the dancing baby now. I didnt realize it would be moving everywhere. I saw my new OB and we really like her. It turns out that her boyfriend is the one who extracted the sperm from DH. I thought that was cool they both are helping us make this baby and their dating! My OB did throw me for a loop though. She said that I had to test for chomosome mutations like Downs Syndrome and I told her Im under 35 so I didnt think I had to worry about it. She said that 50% of downs babies are born to moms under 35!!! OMG! So, I am getting the quad test on Jan 8th. Anyone else doing this testing? DH and I are on different side about keeping a downs baby. I have taught kids with disabilities for 6 years, why not be there for my own baby. Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Teachermom I'm am trying to keep everyone straight here. You were on the Sept/Oct board and had to do a IUI then with cancelled IVF correct? Did you do IVF this time to get your twins? I think you did this cycle on the Nov board, and I wasn't on that one.

Kala My OB wanted me to do the Downs testing also and I am 32. However, we did PGD so my embies were already screened for downs, so I don't need to do it. I would do it however had the baby already not been screeened. Kids with downs, as you prabably know teaching special ed, can also have many medical issues beyond just mental limitations. My friend gave birth to her son 1 day before my youngest DD was born. She was about 27 and her son had downs. He died at 1 and a half becuase of a genetic heart defect that is common in children with downs. He spent most of his short life in the hospital and had several heart surgeries. Not saying you would want to terminate or anything, but it helps to be prepared to take on those special circumstances.

So I had a bit of a scare today. I fell. And all though there is a major snowstorm going on right now, I actaully fell inside my nice, warm, dry house. Slipped right on my too long pants on the carpeting. I called the OB right away and they had me come in during the blizzard to get checked out. Luckily all is fine. The heart is still beating away and everything is in place. So no worries. Well no worries now. It was about an hour of sheer panic there for a while.

Oh Lisa, you poor thing!! Im so glad everything is okay. I live in the mountains for Colorado and Im absolutely terrified of falling. I fell last winter right on my face and had to have 9 stitches and a root canal. It was aweful! Anyways, Im glad all is well and thanks for the advice about Downs testing.

Everyone-when do you find out the sex?

I just booked my appt for Feb 5th. I cant wait to buy baby clothes!!!

Lisa: Glad to hear things are fine! Don't scare us like that! I am very nervous as the weather starts getting bad...makes me want to stay at home all the time.

I am in need of a pick me up, went to my 2nd OB appointment today were I got the news that I failed my second gluclose test and have Gestational Diabetes. They actually think perhaps I have had type 2 diabetes that has gone undetected until the recent gluclose testing with pregnancy. My dad passed away at 52 from a long stent of diabetes so I am well aware it runs in our family.

There are many risks that come with early gestational diabetes including heart and brain defects in the baby. I have moved now to a high risk catagory and just when I thought I was close to being in the Safe Zone was told today my chance of miscarrige just went up, up, up. I was refered to a high risk OBGYN who will take me from here on out.

I am scheduled for my last RE appointment and 4th Sono on Dec. 16th, actually got a quick sono today as we could not get a heartbeat on the doppler, but the heart rate showed 162 bpm even thought I did not get to hear it, very comforting to see it. First Gestational Diabetes class is next Tuesday.

I am so worried something will go wrong!

Iamhopeful-Breath..inhale....exhale....and do it again 10 times. Here's the deal: I have had several friends with gestational diabetes deliver beautiful healthy babies! You will be fine and you will hear the hb at the next appt. Hang in there, you will be thru the 1st trimester soon and that means m/c rate goes down down down. Im praying for you!

I am hopeful- I too had friends who had very bad gestational diabetes and they delivered perfectly healthy babies. It's really quite common. Try not to stress about it- stress is not good.

lisa- I'm glad you're ok. I know that a fall can be very scary. And yes I was on the Sept/Oct thread. I got canceled once and converted another cycle to an IUI which didn't work. And yes, I did IVF this cycle.

I am a high risk pregnancy also due to fibroids that caused preterm labor with my DD. So I see a perinatal specialist as well as my ob and the RE for another week. I went to the specialist last night and found out- it's TRIPLETS!!!
