Our journey to becoming parents... When all methods failed

Post by jennifer8193 »

I have read so many stories online that I decided to share my story. My name is Jennifer, about 10 years ago my husband and I decided we wanted to start a family. We were only 23 years old at the time. We planned everything out and then waited, and waited, then waited some more. After 2 years we went to a reproductive doctor. After months of tests that went into so many details of our personnal lives, we were told that we had unexplained infertility. We were put on Clomid and Femara in the beginning, I ovulated but didn't get pregnant, then came the injectibles, Gonal F, Follitisum, all while doing IUI. After 5 years of ttc concieve we actually moved to a state that required insurance companies to cover IVF treatment. There are only 14 in the US. We started trying again right away. We did 5 IVF cycles with no success, no one could tell us why. We decided after 10 years and 4 months of ttc we were DONE. We were going to adopt. We started the process and we were paired with a beautiful birth mother and father. It was a month before the our daughter was coming home that I learned that I was pregnant. WOW! I have no idea why or how. But, I was pregnant. It was never a question, we continued with the adoption and now have a beautiful daughter we named Mary Katherine through adoption. We also have new born daughter we named Hope. It's amazing how much love I have for them. I thought I would never experience carrying a child. I got that chance. Everything happens for a reason. My husband and I have grown so much over the years and the struggles have made our relationship stronger. We are currently are already talking about adopting again. Adopting was the best decision we ever made. :D
Finally.. We did it

So heart warming... A beautiful story to tell your girls when they're older and it is so amazing; Hope was created because of your love for Mary.

Jennifer. Thank you for sharing your story. Since I found out that I was pregnant last week, I feel so grateful. It's beyond words the joy it brings. I know when I was going through IVF I never let myself believe it would not work. I always kept thanking God and the universe for my health, family, good fortune and, of course, my prenancy -to- come. I truly wish you and your family the best. It's a wonderful story about real life.
