HI all - and a million congrats to all the new mums. SO amazing
Was just wondering - and hope you dont mind my asking, are any of you ladies PG with donor sperm?
We are on 2nd ICSI - with as donor as a back up....but my DH is still VERY unsure about the whole thing.
I just wondered - if anyone had any reassuring words of wisdom for us? or could perhaps tell me how their DHs have reacted the whole pregnancy ? Sis you ever feel a bit alone - or as if your DH felt a bit left out - I am really scared that this might happen??
And one final question - did you tell other people and did you make any firm decisions before you started about telling the child or not, or are you sort of playing it by ear?
MAny many thanks - please dont hesitate to tell me to shove off and mind my own business - really just looking for a bit of experienced advice
i know ive spoken to you before i just had a little boy with donar sperm and everyone says he looks like me
he is lovley i split up with my dh but people even say he looks like him
WOW - thats so amazing - cant believe you've had your little boy - gosh that went quickly. O I'm so pleased for you. You must be OVER the MOON!! Whats his name? Amazing that people say he looks like your (ex ) partner - just goes to show I guess that other people dont think about it as much as we do I guess!
Cazxx
I've 'spoken' toyou before as well. I'm 20weeks pregnany after our 2nd diui. All is going well, I have my '20' week scan next MOnday and will relax a bit more after that.
With regards to the whole pregnancy, dh has been nothing less than wonderful. This is defintiely 'our' child, his child, he will be daddy and as he already has a daughter by diui I know just how positive his relationship with his son/daughter will be.
We haven't told anyone about the treatment, though I am still questioning telling my mum. Other than that we WILL tell the child, as we have his daughter this last year. We decided that we didn't want our child to grow up with lies and thinking they knew their genetic makeup - but it is all a matter of personal choice.
Hope some of that was useful - let me know if you want to ask anything specific, I don't claim to be an expert, I'm only just learning myself and who knows what the future holds but one thing for sure is that this baby is defineity a wanted baby with 2 very happy parents!!!
Hope your treatment goes well - fingers crossed
love
