Hi There,
Last week you told me not to be excited about the OHSS symptoms...and you were absolutely right! Had fluid removed on Wed, and as of this morning, I think I may need it again; pain is back and gained another pound.
My question is, I searched the site and couldn't really find an answer...does moderate to severe OHSS increase the chance of miscarriage? My hcgs were 175 at 9dp3dt, and 340 at 12dp3dt, and I go again on Monday if they don't take one today. I think that's in the twin range?

Also, I know there is not a definite answer, but how long do the more severe OHSS symptoms last? I can deal with the bloating, etc, but the pain gets so bad, especially at night.

Last I saw, OHSS was neutral or, incredibly, actually a good prognostic for the pregnancy. I can't recall anyone saying it caused pregnancy losses. But sometimes OHSS is fatal, and in that case the pregnancy is lost, of course.

OHSS from a pregnancy can last 3 or 4 weeks, then fade.

At least you are not in the hospital.

Good chance of twins with those numbers, but can't tell until the ultrasound.

Best of luck to you. Please post when you can to let us know how you are doing. Keep your doctor fully informed, and be insistent if you think you need more of his attention. You should be his main focus right now.

Thanks Ghost...always comforting to have another opinion. My RE has been great, the whole team is really incredible, they call minimum twice a day. They were unable to get all of the fluid the other day, so she warned me that it could get worse again. I couldn't believe how much better I felt right after the tap!! I was a new woman!

I hate to go back for another, simply because of the Fentanyl, but the procedure was not as bad as it would seem, just uncomfortable....
