PIO and Estrogen dose after 6 week US? Ghost/Anyone?

I just got back from my my 6w2d U/S with my RE and we heard and saw a beautiful little heartbeat flickering away. It was such a happy moment and DH and I are so excited.

We did an FET this cycle and I have been on 1cc of PIO daily since 5days before transfer and 4 estrogen patches changed every other day. RE had my progesterone and estrogen levels checked today and the nurse just called me and told me I can go down to 3/4 cc of PIO daily and 3 estrogen patches changed every other day starting tomorrow. Does this sound right so soon? I am really scared to take less of these hormones because I don't want anything to happen to the baby. I don't want to defy the RE's order but would rather be safe than sorry and know that a little extra can't hurt, but a little less can. Should I just stay on the same dose for a little longer?

I definitely cant say whether or not to take more meds but if it helps I started my FET on 1cc PIO and 2 patches every other day. That continued until about 11.5 weeks then I was done, yah! Though it probably feels scary to take a lower dose, I imagine that your RE would not have you reduce the amounts if it would harm your pregnancy in any way. It would also mess up their numbers if anything happened soo early, so they have something at stake here too!

I'm sure the change is fine. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Most patients have progesterone higher than it needs to be. Clinics respond by reducing the dose. If you are uncomfortable with that, you can ask your clinic if they will let you keep the dosage higher. There are almost no serious side effects of progesterone.

I agree, follow your dr's orders (he or she wants those high statistics, they won't instruct you to do something that will harm the baby).

I was weaned off my patches at the end of 5 weeks and just got instructions to start weaning on 12/29 ending all PIO by 10 weeks. I am 6weeks 3days right now.

Thank you all so much! You are all right to follow RE's instructions. He IS a terrific doctor and knows what he is doing and you all helped to remind me of that. I am just being paranoid, but understand what needs to be done.
