Claud-
So sorry you didn't get the increase you were anticipating. I am praying for you that it'll jump right up next time. I have read quite a few posts recently about numbers jumping nicely from 2nd to 3rd beta, when they hadn't increased so well from 1st to 2nd. Perhaps it was 2 embies, and now down to one. Go embie, go! :)

Caprice-
That is absolutely great! You are soooo having multiples. I'll be really surprised if it's a singleton you have there. Congrats on great results :).

Hello ladies!

Sorry I have been offline for a while - I was away all of last week trekking around visiting friends and family and with being back at work this week :( I've only just caught up. Rest assured, I'm back and will hopefully be up to speed with everyone soon!

Albany - love your pic. I can't wait to get a bump. Feel nothing but bloated which I think is still from the progesterone pessaries which I am taking for another week, only till week 8 - this seems to be less than other peeps?

Claud -hi - lovely to have anothe Nov/Dec board girl over here. Hope your next beta goes ok. Have everything crossed.

Had my 7 week US today!!! Yippeee, we saw a heart beat. It was amazing. Have a little print out which I have scanned it to my parents. It's now my screen saver on my laptop. Can't stop looking at it. Was so pleased to see something as we had not beta (I POAS 8 times - have spent a small fortune - no more now), so it was so nice just to know that there was actually something in there!

We are going to tell our siblings on Christmas day when I'll be 8 weeks and 2 days, then save telling friends until we are more safely 12 weeks. We are going to hide the scane picture in the crackers on the dinner table - am sooo excited!

Am getting a little less anxious and a little more excited each day that we are pregnant. May that continue.

Albany - you are so good reading up on so much! I have been too scared to let myself look at anything in case something goes wrong. Am such a glass half empty person - but trying not to be - afterall, my treatment worked!

Have convinced myself I'm having a boy, purely because I read that boy fertilised eggs develop quicker and we had one blast transferred that had started to hatch. I used to desperately want a girl -now I couldn't care less - funny how things change isn't it?

Will try to do more personals once I have caught up on who everyone is. Good to be here though
x

Olim - if your boy theory is true, then I am having boys as well!!!! I have my 1st scan tomorrow to check how many implanted. Both that were transferred were well ahead (one was almost turning into a morula on day 3 and the other was 10 cells). DH and I are only hoping for a big healthy baby. But, deep down i know he really would love a boy b/c he is the last male in his family to carry on the family name (a lot of pressure on me  :D ). Your probably right on the bloat... I am convinced that is what the bump is, but it may also be that I have gained about 5-7 lbs since the beginning of this november cycle.
I am soooooooo happy for you, dh and your little heartbeat! If we get a heartbeat, dh and I are planning to make copies and place it on a Christmas card that you use to place your family picture on... and we are giving one to each family member that will be with us on Christmas and asking them to all open it at once!!! Hahaha, makes me smile just thinking about the event! :D

FYI girls, I got my H1N1 (preservative free injection). Feeling just fine. Olim and Shari are your dr's recommending it in the UK and Israel?

Me2009 - I took Metformin during my 1st ivf and it did cause nausea and upset stomach. We have the same heartbeat U/S date - Tomorrow!!! What time is yours? I have mine at 9am Central. I can't wait to go to bed tonight!!!!

Riki I hope you are doing well.

Shari - I'm still thinking about the doughnut. Was it the cake type or the yeast dough? I am thinking about the yeast dough type - that is my favorite (I would love to get nausea as I NEVER do). I know what you mean about the worry. I feel the same way and I have a feeling it may never end! Worry, worry, worry.

I unfortunately am leaving you ladies since I got my 3rd beta back and it went down to 75. Also because my bloodtype is A negative I have to go in tomorrow for a special shot so that my blood doesn't produce anti-agents (fun huh??) Hopefully they will look at my history of having two chemical pregnancies and for next cycle change my protocol and hopefully will begin my next cycle mid January

good luck ladies and I will be lurking

Claud-
So sorry to hear. Hoping your next protocol produces great results :). If you haven't already done acupuncture, I know that it is supposed to help bring blood to the uterine lining to help the embies 'stick'. Lots of luck, and hope to see you here soon!

Ultrasound Report

Post by albany07 »

Hello girls! Hope everyone is doing well.

We had our U/S today and saw the wonderful heartwarming flutter of the heart of our hearts! It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I am a pretty fortunate girl. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. So surreal. You could barely identify the being, but the heart was most apparent. So amazing, I have no words.

Dh and I are packing, getting ready for a trip to Central America. I will be gone and without internet access beginning the 22nd until the 5th. Embaby will be working on a tan sparingly. Mostly for the vitamin D absorption. In Chicago, we live without sunlight from November until May usually... so this will be good for the spirit, mood, pma...

Happy Holidays to everyone and may all embabies thrive on to becoming a fetus. Big heatfilled hugs to all! I am wishing everyone a happy, healthy and memory filled new year!!!!!

Yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy Me2009!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so beautiful and wonderful! We would have been 2, but one of our sacs was without heartbeat  . I am soooooo happy for you, it is nice to get 2 when you wait for such a long time to have them. They say once you see the heartbeat at 6.5 weeks we have a 70-90 percent chance to carry to term. This statistic makes me feel so much better. The last two week wait for ultrasound was killer with sooooooo many variables.

Olim- Welcome back. So glad you saw your little bean on the scan!
Albany- The flutter is amazing amazing feeling! So happy you got to experience it:)
Me2009-Can they tell if it's 2 separate sac's or both in one sac? Twins! Yay!
Shari- I speak and understand just a little hebrew.
Caprice- Great rising of your beta.
Claud- So sorry about your numbers. Good luck in your next try.

AMF- I had a scan today and there were 2 little hearts beating away. RE didn't measure the rates but measured them in length and they were 6 weeks 1 day each, a few days behind. RE talked to my OB (after I called my OB hysterically crying last week) and they said we need to go see the Peri week 9 or 10 to get his opinion on the uterus capabilities and risks of 2 more preemies. I have an apt jan 6 and the RE the same week when I will be released. I am also sick- can only take tylenol. I didn't go to the doc thinking it is just a sore throat. I hope it isn't anything more.

Get this! At my RE's office today there were filming for the TLC show Little People. I saw the little couple and they are using my RE to get pregnant! RE was all dressed up, rather than just his scrubs. who knows when the ep will air.

Happy weekend everyone!

I wonder if they are going to use a suroget or just do IVF?? That's super cool. Out of all the stupid reality shows.. i like their show the best. They are down to earth!

anyways, They said my DD is still 8-8-10, but more and likely will go somewhere around july 4th! wow... this is so real

Hey Everyone!

Me2009- Congrats on your twin U/S! How exciting!

Albany and Olim- Congrats on seeing the heartbeats!! It is amazing how wonderful and emotional it is when we see that blurry, barely visible little black and white flutter on the U/S screen. May the little beans grow and develop with each passing day!!

Rikirees-
How're you doing today? Glad that your RE communicated with your OB and that there is a plan in place. Good for you for making it happen! One day at a time, and as far as I can tell, so far so good :).

I have an appt. with my new OB tomorrow. I expect he'll want to schedule a 7 week ultrasound in about another week or so. Can't wait!

Have a great day everyone!

One more thing...

Something has been bothering me slightly since that 5-week ultrasound I had. The techie was pushing hard on me to see the amnio. sac. Anyone else had this experience? It just made me nervous since it would seem that pressing down on an itsy bitsy little bean wouldn't be the best thing to do... but what do I know...

Thanks to anyone who can address this concern...

Pushing Hard

Post by albany07 »

Shari, My RE did my ultrasound on Friday and he actually did the same thing, b/c the picture was pretty blurry at first. The internet says a full bladder helps with a clear picture (so I had one, but it was so unbearable I asked the rn if it was necessary, right before the u/s, so I emptied). The RE apologized for pushing so hard. I don't know, but don't think it will do any damage. My RE says he doesn't measure HB. He only checks for presence of a HB. Did you get your HB? I don't understand why he couldn't have just did it!!!!

Riki - How many weeks/days were you when they did your ultrasound which revealed the babies were a couple days behind measuring 6 weeks 1 day? Did they say anything about that? Is everything going to be ok?

I am thinking about you and glad you will be meeting with the specialist to talk things over.

Does anyone have extreme thirst after waking up in the morning? During waking hours I definitely drink PLENTY of water (about 6 16 oz.) and milk (3 8 oz.).
