HPT question for u all...

Hi There,
I am in my 7th IVF, between fresh and FETs, and I FINALLY saw my first real BFP on a HPT yesterday at 8dp3dt (which seemed early)!!! So exciting, but when I tested again this morning, the line was a bit fainter. Both tests I would classify as "light" lines, stronger than faint, but I would've expected today's line to be darker, especially because the first test was taken midday?? I also have a history of mild OHSS, and those symptoms have been very strong the past 3 days.

I am just nervous because I've had 2 chemicals in the past, and have gone from seeing a faint line, to no line at all.

I go for my beta on Wed, if I don't go crazy first....
Any similar happenings that resulted in BFP or chemical?

I wanted to let you know that hcg levels double every two days, so don't get discourage because you don't see a darker line in one day. It's funny, my beta is on Wednesday too, It's better to wait until then. I know it's hard, I also have to fight the urge to POAS. HPT you really cannot read to much into them. I hope everything goes well for you.

I have a pretty nasty case of OHSS at the moment, and I'm feeling miserable, can hardly move.
The HPT is evil, no doubt!!

Prayers for your test today!!!
I have actually had quite a time the last 3 days...ended up going in on Monday due to OHSS, and they did my beta 175!!
They just called with my beta today (after having to have 1.5 liters of fluid drained) and its 340. I'm in shock!!!
OHSS is EVIL and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!!

Shep181 - So glad to hear some good news. Sounds like it has been a very long time in the waiting.I guess #7 is your lucky #. Congrats again, you deserve it and enjoy every second of it

Congrats, Shep! Sorry to hear about your OHSS. I had a mild case and it wasn't fun...so I can't imagine how you must feel. But I hope the excitement of finally being pregnant overshadows the discomfort! What a bless! Enjoy the moment!

Shep181 I just wanted to check in on you, I am so glad your betas are wonderful, my beta is 137, I get another beta tomorrow. I am not that excited yet. I think it's due to the fact I had 7 m/c in the past. I will be a lot better when my numbers keep doubling and I see the baby on the ultrasound. I am sorry about the OHSS, I never had it but, it really sounds painful.

Skylar: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I know how you feel, I don't think I'll believe it till I see the u/s. How have your beta numbers been in the past? 7 m/c is just awful, I'm so sorry...how far along have you been and did they change your protocol this time?
I am miserable again this morning and wondering if they will tap fluid again...when the pain comes back, it comes with a vengeance.

Shep181 With all of my other m/c I never lasted more than 6weeks.
I guess I should be blessed I never saw a heartbeat, my baby sister did and she lost hers and it took her awhile to get over it. This is my only IVF, I had my tubes reversed 4 1/2 years ago. After years of trying, we found out the reason why I was not getting pregnant because both my tubes had very bad scar tissue the eggs never could made it through the tubes. Of course we did not find out until they thought I had an ectopic pregnancy and ended up removing both tubes. Which was a blessing in a lot of ways.
My second beta came back 321, my dh is very happy this is his first baby, I had some from a previous marriage.
I hope you will feel better soon. Your number are coming along well.

I still can't wrap my head around BFP...DH is in shock, we've been trying for 12 years, we really thought it would never happen. Decided to give it up in May this year, but prayed about it and next thing you know, here we are again...
Our numbers seem pretty similar...I go back on Monday the 21st...then have to wait 2 weeks javascript:emoticon(':(') for the ultrasound.

Take it easy this weekend!!!!

Must be the IVF-age denial has finally gotten to me!!!! I'm 36...thanks for the observation so my DH isn't getting a call from the authorities!!!

It's funny, we have always planned the IVFs around our life schedules...holidays, trips, work, etc...and one I turned 36 it became clear that skipping a month here or there was not an option...

Congrats on your twins, so exciting!!!! What were your betas? Mine have been high...9dp3dt 175, 11dp3dt 340, next one tomorrow....
